I am sure there wil not be too many genuine football fans that are too worried that Franchise FC are doing so badly.

Karma's a bitch.
Any idea if Jack Taylor has found his way out of Archie Collins’ back pocket yet?

Much more positive from us on Saturday, Kennedy's tweaks have given us a little more going forward whilst remaining fairly solid at the back.

If we'd had Bishop and particularly Mandroiu available then we'd perhaps have ended up winning. There was no Hopper or Garrick available either so that's four attacking players missing who could have made a difference.

A couple of interesting comments from Plymouth fans who thought our pitch had been narrowed. We thought the same in pre-season but we're told it's exactly the same as last and looking back at footage from last season it doesn't look to have changed.

Can I say we are not doing very well. Not that any of you care but we aren't. It's quite sad. :ffs:
Oh c'mon, MK are above Morecambe, Burton & FGR.
Okay all four need two wins to rise above relegation spot but hey it's only 17/18 games into season. o_O

Still massively titsed with Saturday. As others have said, how we've come away from that losing 4-0 is a mystery. Against Peterborough, you can say fair enough, but Oxford must be thinking that they didn't play that well but yet strolled to victory.

I suppose we had the rub of the green for a few games, whereby refs were giving us decisions and on Saturday we didn't get anything. We're also having most shots from outside of the box flying in rather than over the stand. However, we need to stop letting half decent players have the time to set themselves to shoot. We're also not converting simple chances. So frustrating and so many points dropped needlessly.

It did seem a bit like one of those days, but we seem to be having one every few weeks.

I still cant get over how Gavin Massey doesnt tap home an open goal after their keeper touched it on the bar either! He cleared it off the line.

Saturday was our 9th clean sheet in the league and 13th of the season should be on to break the club record of 20 clean sheets in the campaign.

This time last season we sat 7th on 29 points so it is an improvement. Ipswich were 10th on 24 points so their improvement is even more impressive.

Never realised Port Vale fans were such a strange and moaning lot.

The way some of you are going on I feel I have to apologise on behalf of Oxford United for us daring to be better than you.

Football is very straightforward, in that most of the time the team who plays better wins. For much of this season we've been shit (for a number of reasons) but we're slowly turning a bit of a corner and putting some results together. Given our injuries, I didn't expect much on Saturday, but the enforced changes actually worked out quite well, and we won with ease.

That's it Port Vale fans, no more, no less. We won convincingly and deservedly, because we were better than you, and not because of any conspiracy against you, or refereeing bias, or the sun being behind Jupiter, or any other crap excuse you lot seem to want to come out with.

You looked like a typical Darren Clarke side, and I forecast you'll finish about 16th to 18th.

I don't think you are better than us. We had a poor day defensively but could and probably should have scored 3 or 4 ourselves. I didn't think you looked like anything but you basically scored with most of the shots you had on target. Added to that a ref who was incredibly biased and you just have to class it as one of those days. Fair play though, you took your chances and we didn't.

What does a typical Daryl Clarke side mean? The guy has 5 promotions on his CV , so it's probably quite a good way to play football?

Don’t think there was a conspiracy theory to it, we were just dire and arguably put in the worst performance of the season and one of the worst under DC.

We are not a basket case club anymore so rightly expect better than we got on Saturday, performance wise at least.

Both sides will be mid table I imagine which for us would be a solid enough first season back and games like that show there are areas we need to improve to reach out longer term goals.

We never win at Oxford and generally hand you a pasting at Vale Park down their years so probably just going with historical standard.

We gave him the freedom of Oxford to be fair.

I just can’t get my head around Mal Benning either, he’s generally been decent this season but Peterborough notably and Saturday he has a real stinker, and by that a mean real bad, so much the Posh commentators called him the worst footballer they’ve seen!

On Saturday he lets a 33 year old winger constantly do him for pace, not sure if he had led in his boots or what! We’ve sent Small back and rumours McCarron has gone back so LWB is becoming a real worry and priority for January.

It’s an interesting point, if there are two players on their team DC should know about it’s him and Matt Taylor so naturally we struggle with both of them.

Ellis Harrison is best mates with Matty Taylor too so he would have also known all about him as well. Can't legislate for poor defending though I guess. Still u guys are doing well considering you were the lowest placed team promoted

Fairly direct, get the ball wide and cross it, or knock it over the top early. It works in the National League, and League Two, but less so in League One.

Oh, and the 4-0 scoreline disagrees with your opening line.

Interesting choice of words there. Our record at Vale Park is better than your record at ours, so on that basis I'd say it's us handing out the pastings.

Mid table would be failure for us, and I expect us to be in or around the play-offs at the end of the season. We've had a terrible start, with a number of potential signings falling through at the end of the window, and a ridiculous amount of injuries, and I feel this will end up leaving us with too much to do to go up.

Luckily the season is defined over 46 games rather than the 1.

We tend to mix it up and play different depending on the opposition, we dont really pump it long at all, we dont have the height for that!

We have beaten you by 3 goals on 4 of your last 7 visits.
