Yep it's between that 'watching super...' and 'is this a library?' for me.

On that subject, last season at Northampton away I had a guy behind me singing "doo do dooo football is a library" instead of in a library.

We’re all from (Insert shithole here) who the fuck are you

Are you still in the league cup ,nope so you lost yours already stags only unbeaten efl team in all competitions
But only the league that matters. Didn’t actually lose in 90 minutes though.

We’ve got some nasty looking games coming up - Morecambe Saturday, then Bradford and Notts away with Gills at home.

Armstrong was dreadful yesterday, mind you so were the vast majority of players for both sides yesterday.

As boring a match as you could ever witness at a professional level
What, worse than the week before? :eyes:

He came on for 20 minutes yesterday first time for 3 weeks where he has been benched and not used at all like i said rumours of a fall out with the manager already.
Not sure he touched it did he?

Famous last words but I’m not sure Morecambe would be classed as a nasty fixture. Fully expect 3 points there

Just one observation from yesterday, I was under the impression cans were not allowed in grounds these days? (my lad had a steward come to him with a plastic pot & took the can away at a local league final at the Eco Power the other month) yet cans of that tasteless black & green coca cola were freely on sale in the away end.

Anything is allowed in the stadium long as they’ve sold it to you for a ridiculous price.

They’d sell smoke bombs in the concourse with a massive markup if they could get away with it

We’ve some really testing fixtures between now and the end of october, we’ve lost the last 2 home games to barrow (though won both away), we’ve then big spending gillingham away.

We’ve also got wrexham at home and bogey side harrogate.

So further to those tough sides coming up, we’ve also got other games against wimbledon, notts county and forest green

It is worse than that Adam, Barrow have beaten us in their last THREE visits to the Mill, since they came up from the Conference.

If that is important, surely so is the fact that you did the double over us last season.

Or does our "big spending" make a difference? It is still 50/50. If we score first, we practically always win. If we concede first, we practically always lose. Our spending didn't do us much good against Colchester or Grimsby. Their fans would not have been impressed by us.

On the other hand, on Saturday we put together our best half hour since Harris took charge, at the start before fizzling out.

Fitness levels will decide.

On paper we always had a reasonable looking start to the season, so it was important to take advantage of that and get points on the board early on which we've managed to do. Between now and the end of October we have tough looking tests against Mansfield (H), Crewe (A), MK Dons (H), Walsall (A - we never win there), Notts (H) and Swindon (A).

If we're still in the top 3 running after that lot then I'll start to think we've got something this year, but we could really do with a few of the injuries clearing up - Hawkins back on the bench for the first time this season on Saturday, but lost Lapslie after half an hour.

Ouch!

Revenge for all those batterings we dished out to them in the conference!

This whole Grimsby fans hating on Mullin, why, exactly? Hes a cracking player and you'd love him if he were playing for you lot.

If you use the excuse of 'he goes down easily', tell me a player who doesn't? If you use the excuse of 'he scored with his hand', didn't you still win that game?

What other excuses you got?

Don't think I've read many times (if at all) anyone saying he's not a cracking player, and of course you would love him if he played for your club for that very reason.

There are loads and loads and loads of players who don't go down easily, you may want to narrow that request to goalscorers. Friendly tip.

You're right - I should narrow it down to forwards who go down easily. Which forwards (especially in the lower leagues) don't go down easily?

Love it when GTFCfish quotes one of his own posts. You don't see very many people do that but our fishy friend is consistent.

Does it matter that we won the game? He cheated in a massive match which could have consigned us to another season in the NL. I'm not sure what's difficult to grasp.

Also we hate Challinor for a tackle that was decades ago and it turned out it wasn't actually as bad as we all remembered when someone found it on YouTube. We're Grimsby fans, this is what we do.

It was a genuine question, just wondered why so much hatred. By that reckoning, we should give the keeper of yours from that match as much grief (if he still plays) as he cheated in a massive match which could have consigned us to another season in the NL (see Hossanah get knocked clean out and a stone wall pen that wasn't given...).

Works both ways.

I do get your point in having enemy no.1 - we had/have it with Jon Newby who played for Bury. Never seen anyone get as much shit as he did, then had the audacity to try and play for us - and was extremely shit (I swear it was on purpose too!)
