Doesn't change what I've said the majority of this season, Stockport, Wrexham and Mansfield to go up.

I agree, results like today for Wrexham will happen occasionally just like Stockport and Mansfield too.

We lost at Newport too back in November. Caught us with a right hander after we'd gone on that mad winning run. They're a tough team at their place, definitley a game raising type of side. Wrexham will be fine.

Certainly time to put crewe into the mix with wins at us and barrow.

Not sure about today, but our loss was more down to us than them but still that’s irrelevant and it’s 3 points and more momentum.

There was a period where stockport wrexham and mansfield were all on good runs and some thought they’d run away with it (not me, i still expect us to fuck it up  :ffs: ) but all 3 have been inconsistent of late and gives others hope.

I feel if we do go get this “forward” who can finish we should be ok, but certainly not as straight forward as it looked (for others) a while ago.

Some beautiful Newport - Wrexham BEEF on here nearly up to the levels of Barnet v Wealdstone on the other forum.
6 finger insult first with a shit hole town insult thrown back, just where will this absolute carnage end?

No Crewe were better than us today.

We're stuttering a bit at the moment as we did around the same time last year but we've got a lot more depth in the squad this season to hopefully secure a place in the playoffs. Last season we were completely reliant on Gordon and Whitfield and when they weren't scoring the whole team struggled, hence we ended up well short of 7th. Our goals are fairly well spread around the team this season, but could still do with one of the strikers hitting the back of the net on a more regular basis.

I'd like to see Telford given a consistent run of games now. It's been difficult to justify dropping Whitfield who's been playing as the 'small' striker in recent weeks as he's scored a few but recent results show it is the right time to make some changes up top.

Were all struggling, you’ve got 5 from 5, wrexham 9 from 5 and mansfield and stockport 8.

It’s going to happen at this time of year.

How are Crewe doing so well this season?

I did not think of them being anywhere near the top after how below average they were last season and the league being much stronger now.

Cracking looking stand tbf.

Seriously though decent performance from us for once. Could even have nicked it. Gillingham looked pretty toothless, Hawkins aerial presence the only real threat, apart from a brief spell midway through the second half. Our new signings actually look good, Osadebe especially.
I like the sign bottom left...which presumably also has the words "here" on it...you would probably need both hands to hang on for dear life in that stand, it would be a waste (and dangerous) to use one of them to hold a pint!

Stockport and Mansfield fans going out of their way to search for a stream of our game and it's only January. This run-in is going to be epic on here.
Ran round the room swinging my half-and-half scarf at the final whistle, mate. Love it.

Good win today and a good warm up for next week. Should’ve got 3 or 4 but spurned some great chances. Squad starting to approach full strength - still 2-3 starters out but getting there slowly. Charsley and Wildig ran midfield, solid at the back and 2 strikers who will run all day with no little akill either as today’s goal showed. Clear red card - Boyle knew what he was doing and raked his studs across McLaughlins thigh after winning the ball. Bloke looks like a Newport fan and plays like one. Gogs didn’t turn up on or off the park - very quiet all game.

How have I reached this chapter of the Wrexham fairytale without knowing about the no doubt abusive term of ‘Gogs’?

Basically the first half of last season was about stopping the rot. We were pretty good in the second half of the season and the kids have an extra year of experience. Also, we've kept CBR and Chris Long fit for most of the season and Elliott Nevitt is probably at least twice as good as he was when we signed him. And most importantly, recruitment has been superb this season.

Some form of moderation has happened in this thread and I’m not sure how I feel about it.

There's one of these at Old Trafford cricket, except much, much bigger. Funnily enough it only ever gets inhabited by drunk blokes... must be a good cure for acrophobia

Bookies seemingly have crewe under the radar for promotion -
Stockport and mansfield at 1/12 to go up, and wrexham 1/7 yet crewe are 5/1?

We all missing something?

Lee Bell one of the managers of the season so far no doubt. A good crop is coming through there, possibly seems a season too early for them but if it's there to be had this season you have to go for it.

I dunno, Crewe are one of those teams (along with Swindon and Tranmere) that I never expect to stay in this league for long, if ever they have a bad season or two you can guarantee they will be at the top end of it the next one.
Like this is Swindon’s second middling season in here now which means they will be champions next year.

We've got another good top quality group of youngsters that have broken through probably abit quicker than most expected and on top of that we've recruited very well, brought in some quality experience like Demetriou, that's given us a fantastic blend, very technical youngsters and experienced know how.

Funny how Osadebe was arguably the best player on the pitch today.
I only watched the last 30 minutes, but he did look a different player.
I think I know what the difference is tactically, but i don't want to make a fool of myself having only watched 30 minutes. However, it does look as though the fresh start has helped him regain a bit of confidence.

There were some anti Vince chants yesterday from some of our more vocal fans, 'fuck Dale Vince/fuck Eco Park', 'Dale Vince, what a wanker' etc.

Seems a few are starting to get fed up of the circus. If we end up going down our last home game or two of the season aren't going to be fun for Dale.

Morecambe v Crewe should be a good game on Tuesday night if we play as good as we did against Mansfield then a great game is on the cards

I have kept quiet for the past year or so concerning the shambolic downward slide that the club is currently undergoing.
Former manager Duncan Ferguson alluded to fact that there serious off-field problems which has been strongly confirmed by many on this site.

It is a known fact that Dale V reads the FGR Forum that is run from his Ecotricity business office by his own son, so it is no surprise the following message was posted by a moderator that was immediately locked.

Self evident that the club has been / is burying its head in the sand.
Members of this forum have a better understanding of the mess FGR have got themselves into than those on the FGR own forum.
