The more I read the Carlisle pessimism, the more convinced i am that we're going to lose tomorrow
We're not all pessimistic.
Players getting back to fitness, a more solid football formation, better mental strength and more unity.
Whatever the result today, it will be a close game.
Marathon, not a sprint.
We're bottom of the league now, but plenty of games left to get out of it.

If after the port vale game on 21st December we’re still in touch with the teams above, I’ll be a little more optimistic with the 2 home games coming up and the possibility of some better quality arriving in January.

But right now this season stinks of last season. Constant talk of our fortunes changing, the odd win here and there after which people say “play like that every week and we’ll be fine”, yet weeks and months go by and we’re still in the same position. Only this season our points total is even worse than last seasons.

You can’t blame any fan for being pessimistic given the shit we’ve watched for over a year.

Understand the pessimism, but did we go 4 unbeaten at any point last season? How many clean sheets did we keep?

Not sure how many clean sheets we kept, but it wasn’t many. We’re only 3 unbeaten at moment (you can count the meaningless trophy, I’m not) . We definitely did 3 unbeaten last season at some point.

We were in the bottom two with Exeter at this time of the year the first season after we were relegated, they ended up finishing 5th and we finished 8th, missing out on the play-offs on the final day by a point. Long way to go.

Funnily enough, Exeter beat Carlisle in the play-offs that year.

God I hate playing teams we should beat. We just don't win them. I can see us drawing against Carlisle today after going behind again.

We've completely controlled the opening quarter of this one and looked pretty tidy, but with only one fit striker in the squad we don't look likely to ever score. 0-1 defeat pending.

Very frustrating to concede another goal in the first couple of minutes via a huge deflection.

Really poor from Crewe. Controlled the game in a sense, but haven't looked like scoring.

Carlisle are bang up for it and are defending well. Seem to pose half a threat on the counter. Pretty limited side and don't seem to have much confidence.

Decent enough half from us, controlled the game and looked good on the ball without quite posing enough of a threat to the Fleetwood goal. Another three points is there for the taking though.

Only downside is having both Anderson and Goodliffe go off through off-the-ball muscle injuries.

If Carlisle can keep it going and dig in for the result this game can actually do more benefit than even a great performance win can.

Remember when we were atrocious Indians first spell and started to turn it about and played Yeovil at home knocked an early goal then played off the park by a much better team it scrapped for everything kept them out and nicked a second at the death and won…….massive morale booster as it showed a side lacking heart and battle had turned it about.

Could be same here if we can just scrap for everything and keep them out

My silly phone that was somehow meant to be atrocious in Simpsons

Doesn’t matter now we still have our current ability of making stupid idiotic individual errors to kick ourselves in foot

Fleetwood hit the bar in the second half in their biggest chance, and we just blasted over the bar from six yards out with literally the last kick of the game. Possibly should have edged that but would have taken the point beforehand, especially if we can beat Swindon at home on Tuesday.

Should have put money on how obvious today's result would be. 1-1.

Obviously good to come from behind again, but if we want to go up and hold our own in League One we've got to stop giving stupid early goals away against teams. Capable teams will punish us for it as Chesterfield did.

Decent pair of results for us there (Fleetwood I still think are dark horses).
Caught the second half of Crewe game, fairly scrappy, great block to keep it from being 2-0 and minutes later a silly tackle to make in the box with the player not really in a dangerous position.

Carlisle battled well. The pitch didnt look like it played well though, ball seemed to be bobbling.

I'm not sure our manager covered himself in glory there. The subs and change of shape allowed them back into the game. Before that, they couldn't get out of their own half. A penalty out of the blue spared our blushes (it was a penalty, although Lankester was certainly looking for it). Tracey should have scored after a real bit of quality from Finney, but after that Carlisle looked the more likely (although I was pretty certain it would end 1-1).

A fairly poor performance, lacking energy and guile.

The pitch was good 1st half, but really cut up after the break. I assume they've had a lot of rain.

Strangely that was probably our poorest performance in a good few games, I certainly thought we were better at Bromley and last week against Doncaster, but it’s a great result. A really great result. I know when you’re leading it’s disappointing not to go on and win, but I’d have taken 1-1 all day long.

And the added bonus is we’re temporarily out of the relegation zone.

That point on Monday is looking better all the time. Thought Crewe looked decent 1st half but there's a lot of that pointless side to side shit with very little at the end of it. Still looked in control though but as I often think,
possession means fuck all a lot of the time. 2nd half was scrappy and Carlisle probably looked a bit more likely. Penalty was soft but I'd say it was.

Just goes to show that you can never fully predict a game in this league. Strangely, Crewe looked a bit lethargic after being bang up for it the other night. 2 points out of 6 is good for us though.

You can definitely predict a game - I called exactly what would happen today!

We were absolutely awful. Terrible. Our second worst performance of the season and it wasn't even close. We just look knackered.

Apart from the word temporarily, well said fella.

Does seem like Carlisle are steadying the ship now. Caught the last bit of the Crewe game guess it’s one of those if you can’t win just make sure you don’t lose. The lad Carlisle have on loan from Bournemouth seemed quite lively from the bit I saw.

These were my thoughts when I saw it at Brunton park live. But I’ve now watched the replay at least 5 times and I still can’t tell whether there was contact or not. There maybe was minimal. Utter fuckwittery from Kelly to go on his arse in that position anyway. No need. Brainless footballer has cost us 2 points.

We're once again down to the bare bones in attack. No sooner do we get striker options back, we lose one to suspension and one to injury, whilst waiting for a third to recover. We can also blame the effort we must have put into getting back into the game on Monday, the shorter rest time and the fortuitous bounce Carlisle's goal took on it's way in.

But that was really poor. Joel Tabiner is back to drifting through games, making more backwards passes than forward ones. Tracey, as much he's improved lately, hasn't had an away assist since January and hasn't scored an away goal since October last year. Billington and Connolly try their best, but they struggle with the technical side of the game. Don't want to see either in the starting XI next week.

Nobody wanted to get stuck in and actually make a tackle, with a couple of exceptions. Nobody offered any sort of movement, which meant we spent most of the game knocking it around between our 3 CBs.

I think the penalty is a tad harsh on Kelly as it's hard to see much contact, however you dive in like that and don't win the ball, the opposition player is going over every time and the ref is probably going to give it. Thought Carlisle looked very ordinary in the 60 minutes, but once our legs ran out, gaps started to appear and they actually played some nice football.

I understand the subs for the most part, Lankester was clearly knackered, as were Sanders and Holicek. How Tabiner stayed on, god only knows. We need to address the lack of depth at RWB in January, that and striker are our only real weaknesses at the moment.

I'll take the point, but we need to be far better against Bradford. Hopefully the tables will turn, given we finished our game at 2:30 today and in the time between then and next Saturday's kick off, Bradford will have played 2 games.

He made the most of it, but it’s a silly and unnecessary challenge. We’d have been screaming for a penalty at the other end. Didn’t think Crewe looked like scoring until then. I’d have taken a point before the game, but that now feels like two points needlessly thrown away.

Is it really so hard that a professional athlete can't play two 90 minute football matches a week. I mean, you hear the premier league lot moaning that a mid week champions league match has sapped the legs of a player on Saturday, really?
