We are talking about the same forum where someone has just started a thread declaring us the biggest team in the WORLD.

Tbf that one is a bit better than the last purely because I missed Milwall and Crewe and don't have Sky Blues Player so it's nice to see some of the decent football we played then for the first time. It's still horrific though. Also, how was that not a pen on Maddison in the Crewe game?!

Still very cheesy, but I can't help but enjoy the brilliant football we are playing.

I want to see Maddison score tomorrow. Creating 2 goals a game is getting boring now:ds:.

I hope he doesn't over do it trying to get that goal though. Not point having a player whose gonna try and shoot every time he gets the chance, even when there are better options.

Think i'll go for a 1-3 here. We've had a good start and don't look a bad side but we have such a soft underbelly at home its unreal. As daft as it sounds i'd fancy a reverse scoreline away from home after winning 3 away in a week. Not confident of a good outcome in this but should be a good game and atmosphere tomorrow so looking forward to it.

Come on, it wasn't meant literally. Can't believe people missed the point.

Don't understand why people allow themselves to get worked up by what people write on internet forums, or that people have too much time on their hands and put together silly videos. All harmless. Couldn't give less of a shit really.

2-2 draw, both good sides and having seen them both it should be a cracking game.

Walsall fully deserved that. We were really poor.

Superb result. Having options in the final third is actually coming to fruition. We look like creating and scoring more than 1 goal per game.

Of course it will all change when £500k Tom is sold on deadline day.

Walsall played very well and we were just average. Losing Maddison hit us very hard tbh.

Willis was destroyed at full back with a lot of your attack coming through your left side.

If you offered me 9 points from our first 4 I'd bite your hand off. On to Southend then.

Lol.

That's what being over-confident does to you.

We were poor and Walsall could have won by more, Maddison going off early was massive blow as he's our second best player after Armstrong and changed the rest of the game.

Just like to say once again what a superb job Dean Smith is doing at Walsall, I say it every season even when all the Walsall fans are getting on his back. Tremendous job

Coventry looked like they gave up after the first goal, only showing some enthusiasm after Murphy's absolute worldy.

Good win for us, I know Coventry can play a lot better than that though, they'll pick themselves up quickly.

We looked like we didn't know how to play without Maddison, we've had an unchanged team in all first 4 fixtures, today it was just all disjointed with having to change and tinker with it early on and disrupted are rhythm we've had in the first three matches.

You seem pretty certain about that. Mind you we may have the same problem with Bradley.

Well done by the way, and thanks.

Walsall were really good, passed it around well all game. Once Maddison went off I was certain we would lose, and I wasn't wrong. The link between our midfield and attack was limited all game, down to maddison not being there.
Mowbray got it wrong in the first half by not moving Lamerias central and O'brien wide.

Defence worries me, Willis just isn't a right back and without help from Lamerias he was getting ripped apart.

The big worry is how long Maddison is out for. Swanson will hopefully step in and perform like he did in pre-season. A big striker is still something I would look for in the next week. Armstrong could have done with someone alongside him today.

Sorry for diving in Coventry fans, but isn't it a bit concerning that your team seemed to fall apart once an 18 year old midfielder went off? I know Maddison is clearly a very talented player, but you shouldn't be that reliant on an 18 year at this stage surely?

They didn't fall apart at all. We had a great chance through Murphy to take the lead. Up until the goal it was an even game and Walsall weren't that incisive. After that the offside goal happened, then we scored and rallied for about 10-15 minutes. Walsall didn't tire and we did - Mowbray admitting we were carrying 4 knocks coming into the game. They controlled the remaining 20/25 and even though we should have had a pen and hit the bar, they deserved to win. We aren't reliant on him, he's a very good player but we have quite a few of them at the moment and can cope without him.

Today was the first time we couldn't this season we couldn't play with the team we wanted to and that effected our fluency and game plan, I'm not even sure it was specifically Maddison going off that did it, it just the change disrupted our rhythm we had going. I.e it could have been Fleck or Lameiras who got injured and it could have had a similar effect and Maddison wouldn't be as effective without those players around him.

Clearly he is a player who makes our team better but any team who loses a good player within the first 5 minutes will have an impact on the performance. Lets see how we play when Mowbray has time to formulate a plan/style of play without him actually in the team before we go implying we are a one man team.

And as Connor says, to say it fell apart is harsh. It was poor by the very high standards we'd set in the previous matches, it was still a close match even though Walsall were deserved winners its not like they have blown us away.
