Dunno what happened at half time but Jones was getting kicked in the air every 5 minutes with zero protection from the ref. Skilful players should be protected, otherwise everyone will end up playing like Clougie’s Cloggers.

Let's ignore how many times he was kicked and fouled without the referee taking any action. Wouldn't want to moan about a referee too much it is L2 after all :shifty:

If he gets charged for his clear display of frustration and petulance I wonder if he will write a strongly worded letter to the authorities like Nigel and his backroom staff said they were going to after he got all upset and mardy after the Wimbledon game. It's petty and embarrassing but it's clearly an option.

“I’ve been kicked so much I’m gonna have to thrust my cock at some kids”

He means marked out the game so started falling to the ground like a sniper was positioned on top of the Ian Greaves stand. It’s nonsense he just couldn’t handle the occasion, threw a mard and decided to try get on the register.

what a hill to die on mind if your a county fan, expected better for some reason

I can understand his frustration though, probably normally plays against easier teams - sadly for him the lad wasn’t wasn’t big enough to have any physicality to him and didn’t have enough skill to get past a mean home defence. Felt a bit sorry for him, tried hard but just wasn’t good enough on the day.

Nice to see some Grade A irony from the Stags fans.

Any confirmed outcome or action taken following the strongly worded letters from Nigel and co, gents?

Only fair that he gets banned and all of his goals and assists for the last month get removed from the results.

Think that makes us 5-1 winners against county.

Only Fair

He just got marked out of the game bless him and threw his dolly out the pram, it was hilarious and we were all embarrassed for him.

However, it’s a complete nonsense for an investigation over something daft, move on.

Having seen the video, I’ve never seen such a disappointment based on what that article made it sound like. Just looks like someone shouts something at him from the crowd and he points at his dick in response, which is a bit immature but not exactly ‘gyrating’.

Definitely a sign of how well you dealt with him and how frustrated he got on the day, but an investigation over it is mad.

The fouling thing is a sign of how the being too nice thing of a couple of years ago has crept back in this season. You definitely targeted Jones and committed loads of sly fouls on him, but this season we’ve started sulking about it whereas last season part of us being so good was that we started responding to that by just going ‘fine’ and fouling back.

I just think it’s a nonsense about the “act” mansfield fans have given him shit, he’s reacted back (i mean it’s a bit daft on his part) but then the same fans are going in all “oh you’ve offended me” nah, dish it out prepare to take it.

In an ideal world acts like that from fans and players alike wouldn’t happen and crack on with the football.

100% agree with that. Yeah Jones got targeted a few times, take it as a compliment, instead he threw a tantrum and fans of course respond to that. He was fouled 4 times, 1 drew a card. McGoldrick was fouled 3 times and all of them fouls were punished with a card. Classy player him.

I can’t say I’m not happy with us, we’ve been soft as shit for too many seasons now, this team seems to be abit different, Stockport fans still crying on twitter now about how we roughed them up abit at EP. End of the day we got 6 points from 2 big games for us.

Anyway it’s been a week now, I hope we lock horns again next season but in L1 of course. Always a good fixture to have in the season and the 6 points next year would go along way to keeping us up if we hold on this time round.

Nothing more annoying (and every club does it) than football fans who think they can shout whatever they like at players and then get all offended the moment they do something back. Maybe would’ve chosen a different gesture here Jodi, but otherwise I just think it’s funny, part of the game.

Yep, pretty much sums up my point - more fouls on Jones and McGoldrick alone than we made in 90 mins as a team. And not a yellow in a local derby. Got to be up for the battle.

We’ve conceded loads this season on the break that a more ‘streetwise’ team would’ve stopped at source by just fouling someone in the opposition half and breaking the game up.

I definitely find the ‘I’m offended’ types more annoying than Jodi Jones, I think it’s brilliant he lost his head obviously, but it’s funny not offensive.

Still a silly thing to do but I hope the punishment is minimal, it’s a slap on the wrist type thing in my opinion.

I agree what’s been said about Mansfield too, the reason we’ve been so good this season is we can play really good football and ping it about, like opposition fans have said on here about us but at the same time can be lil meanies which can upset Stockport fans on here for the next century. Great stuff.

Clough is a weirdo. Proper Richard Keys moon face. Wouldn't surprise me if he did set out to injure the Notts player, he did it against us. He's a man who just has unhappiness deep rooted in his soul.

Players and managers lose their head in one off games all the time, nothing new. Just born our of frustration.

So Mansfield have clearly been very good this season, can play lovely football, can also rough up the opposition, a great balance. So what can stop them going up automatically this season? Why the obvious lack of confidence in the fanbase

Injuries? The state of that pitch? Or just Mansfield being well Mansfield in the run in?

Quality for squad, quality of manager, experience in this league, great balance of styles. I just can't see 3 sides finishing above them. Would like to see them promoted. Would make me richer and give us more chance of points next season.

I don't find his weird at all tbh, just dull and miserable. Its obvious his legendary father was allocated all the personality and charisma for the Clough family and the kids got next to nowt.

Big game tomorrow, 3 points needed ahead of another away game Tuesday.
Think we need a good performance to go with it to get fans off Parkys back. We've been poor for weeks now, even games we've won at home, Wimbledon etc.

2-2
