With our Boxing Day written off, our game at Scunthorpe is currently on.
Not sure how many we have sold but many, like me, may be waiting for the PMs post Christmas COVID-19 announcement.
Have a good and Merry Christmas everyone... Keep safe...

I don't think Boris is going to announce anything
Not that it affects us, we are already off

Our game with Newport has just gone due to Newport having covid issues.

Was planning on this one but I’ve decided against it due to the uncertainty

Not expecting our game to go ahead as any cases detected on 23rd which caused the Salford postponement would still be isolating unless some of the injuries have cleared up.

We have recalled Danny Whitehead from his loan so any chance of calling this off we should if we are that desperate! Dazzler best get the fruit shoots out!

If we do play no idea how would be available, we have a major injury crisis with our strikers so much so we had a kid on the bench who hadn’t played any football for months and Dennis Politic as our only attackers in the squad at Newport.

Possibly Worrall and Rodney would be back now but don’t know who’s out with the virus.

Be surprised if it’s on, if it is and Bojo announcing closed stadiums before than to take affect after I may make the trip.

Think we trained yesterday ahead of our game v Stevenage. No idea about their Covid status, mind.

As of this morning we are aiming to play the fixture with Rochdale but didn’t sound overly confident. Guess it’s a knife edge if any test positive today.

We usually fail to beat the teams below us in the form table. No idea if our three players missing through covid will be back, but if not, Oldham stand a very good chance.

It's a good chance for us to put yesterday's result behind us quickly though, so we could do with it not getting postponed.

I think Stevenage are probably due an outbreak...they are in the South East after all, which seems to be the current home of COVID...we are supposed to be playing them on New Year's Day, hopefully. It feels like ages since our last game, that ten goal thriller at Oldham.

Not one for betting against my own team but 3rd place Tranmere, 5 wins on the bounce @ 2/1 seems overly generous.

I think you are slight favourites. Our away form still is not great, and we have only got one fit striker due to injuries and Covid, which means we will have to change from the 442 we have played throughout our winning run.

I would be happy with a point.

Jake Burton was on the bench v Barrow, so in theory we could play 2 strikers, though don’t see it happening. I’d hope that we don’t play with an isolated striker at Pools, as that approach hasn’t worked too well. Maybe the so far disappointing Ryan Watson as a no 10?

Hartlepool were unlucky not to get something from the game on Wirral. I would be very pleased, if this game does go ahead, to come away with a point.

I think unlucky might be an understatement, we were well on top that day, missed chances galore but we're a different team since DC left, I'd be happy enough with a point here but we absolutely must beat Oldham Saturday or I think we'll be in the sticky.

You probably deserved something from the game but you did not miss chances galore. But let's not open that can of worms again. :bg:

We certainly did and the stats back it up but you're right, not worth going over again, cos it's pretty meaningless, it was just another away defeat to add to all the others.

Assuming the positive tests were carried out on Christmas Eve those missing still won't be available, unless they can do a subsequent test to prove a negative?

Key players out, Banks still suspended and relying on three ever so slow defensive players. Add in to that a probable impatient crowd. 1-2.

Oldham looked superb against us rattling in 4 goals in 23 minutes so right not to underestimate them. Clearly on their day a very good side. If it wasn’t for their useless owner destabilising everything their current squad would probably be mid table.

The match at Prenton Park seems an age ago. We were hugely wasteful that day, with countless golden positions squandered by not having strikers be where they are supposed to be. With last season's front two we could have won the game with ease. But we didn't have them, so we didn't convert opportunities into chances, and we ran out of steam a bit in the last 20. Tranmere saw the chance, made energising substitutions, and nicked the win. But it was a good performance. We haven't seen one of those for a fair while.

Our home record should still be respected but it's taken a wobble since Challinor left, with 4pts from 12 compared to 19 from 21 under DC (and the one win was barely deserved). It's still a very healthy 17-3-3 for 2021 as a whole, and a win would see us equal our best ever home performance for a calendar year. I make us very marginal favourites, but a heavy defeat honestly wouldn't surprise me.

.........aaaaaand it's off :-|

Honestly, maybe a blessing in disguise? Fresher squad going into the game on Saturday which have to be looking at winning.

That and Bradford from what I recall are the only two performances we've put in away. Definitely should've beaten Tranmere, to come away with nowt was a scandal on our part. If Cullen was up to speed by then he'd have been on the end of some of them chances. He'll have an important part to play this year if we can get the right kind in to hold it for him. Until then the less games we have to piss away the better.

Obviously i’ve only saw from afar, seems like you were doing well until the manager fucks off to stockport, you’ve not quite been at the races since?

In honesty i really don’t quite know how you were 2-0 up in the 1st place boxing day but the minute we scored your players seemed to just capitulate, almost like it was an expectation it’d happen. (i had to watch the 2nd half again yesterday as stayed in the bar after halftime) There’s obviously some decent players in the side and you should easily avoid any relegation bother which i guess is something which you’d have settled for at the start of the season? (apologies if doing you an injustice by saying that)

You looked like you needed someone in midfield to give them a bit of a rollicking.
