Loft got injured after a couple of appearances. I wonder what Scunthorpes training regeme consisted of, or even if they trained at all?
We had a truly outrageous amount of injuries last year under Neil Cox, they were definitely doing something wrong. Keith Hill somewhat alluded that our team never did fitness training before he came in which would explain the stupid amount of injuries.

Thought ourselves and Rochdale were two very similar teams when we played them in October, the difference that day was the fact they had a decent striker.

Going to this one, I've only seen us win once this season in person against Ipswich in the cup and I reckon I've been to 12 or 13 games. Not sure why I bother but it may be the only chance I get to go on a few EFL away days the way things are going. Head says a 1-1 draw or 2-1 defeat.

Seems like we have been playing Sat-Tues-Sat for ages. Looked like it was catching up with us yesterday
We've played Saturday-Tuesday every week from the 5th Feb and it doesn't end until 19th March.

Shocking scheduling, but no doubt we'll constantly have to read some PL manager crying about how they once played Saturday and Wednesday during the 2016 festive period

On Tuesday 15th March we start a run of four successive away Tuesday night games in a row. Port Vale, Rochdale, Hartlepool and FGR.

3 successive wins has been a remarkable start from Simmo.

Make no mistake about it, these players are still shit, but he seems to have created a spirit and has got them looking like something that resembles a team. We’ve had some slices of fortune and the lack of quality is still evident, but the work rate has improved and players are giving their all. He’s done a great job so far. We’d have lost all 3 of those games had Millen still been our manager, no doubt about it. What we’re lacking in quality for this level, simmo is making up for with good tactics, inspiration and man management.

All that said, Saturdays opponents is a step up. 2nd in the league, battered us at their place. Even with Simmo inspiring them, I think the lack of quality will show and we’ll be severely punished as we should have been in previous games.

Northampton inflicted our last manager’s first defeat and I think they’ll inflict this manager’s first defeat.

Carlisle United 1-4 Northampton

Outside of Saturdays game we pretty much only ever score 1, no chance we score 4. Going for a scrappy 1-1 game.

Good side is Swinny, but not good enough. 2-1 win for the Grecians.

I was impressed with Exeter at our place and with the recent injuries we have suffered I just don't think we'll be able to cope tonight. If we can somehow keep things tight then we might be able to sneak a draw. McKirdy is suspended, but having Jack Payne back is massive. I realise Exeter are not Brazil, but they are on a good run of form (defeat at Mansfield excepted) and I just feel that we may struggle tonight.

That said, this side has surprised this season so my words may come back to bite me tonight, hopefully that is the case.

Almost to the point it’s an irrelevance for us now but hoping for a draw tonight in the Swindon game then Crawley to win but have about 3 or 4 players get suspended for Saturday. Not asking too much surely.

Probably the toughest game we could ask for given our current form.

Expecting another improved performance building on the Swindon game where we were largely very good. But the same old squad deficiencies will let us down (missing chances and defensive errors) in terms of the result.

Biggest worry is our fullbacks who are quite poor up against Cadden and Wilson who I think will have a lot of joy.

Will be my first trip to Forest Green so hopefully we're playing them at a good time and Hughes can get his first win but head says routine 2-0 win for the hosts.

Dracula has risen from the grave!
I don't post for 2 or 3 days and you assume I'm in the grave, fear not, I just don't visit this forum every hour of every day like your 3.168 posts on average every day since you joined this forum. I suppose someone needs to single handedly keep this forum alive. Good luck for the season but this should be a comfortable win for us given your injuries.

Can’t argue with that. Is 3 posts a day excessive?

No idea what to expect tonight. Seems to be touch and go whether Brown is back and whether Nombe is fully fit.
Either way, it would be nice to start brightly for once. We have fallen behind too many times in recent games. So 3-0 at half time would be nice.
Realistically though it will no doubt be as tight as the game at the County Ground but hopefully home advantage can see us edge it.
Good crowd expected under the lights, bring it on.

I thought exeter and swindon were both good sides, we lost to both of you away when we really shouldn’t have done but won at home when we were slightly fortunate to do so.

i’d certainly say both were/are on par with mansfield.

Just seen you've done the first L2 post since last night on the other board.

That is unless you count the desperate attempt to revive the Scunny thread they tried.

I don't want to be in danger of imitating the irritating Carlisle fan and witter on about the same thing repeatedly, but our injury list is damning at the moment and of the side we put out against you last month, 5 of those starting (Cooper, Gladwin, Lyden, Tomlinson and McKirdy) are sidelined. We are going to have to be at our very best to get something tonight, if you score early I reckon we'll fold like a cheap suit like we did at Tranmere.

I'd agree with that you say about the game at the CG, we were extremely fortunate to get 3 points that day, you guys played very well and the officials seemed to have left their guide dogs in the referees bus. At Field Mill you were very good and our goal flattered the score line somewhat.

Since that defeat we do look like we have added a bit of steel to our game. Josh Davison is a big presence up front and we aren't getting bullied as much as we did.

Well you already put 3 past us and on the day we were lucky it wasn’t 6.

As expected, our pig’s ear of a defence are unable to defend any corner chucked in. 5/6 players out is way too big a hurdle for us.

Why can't you defend corners? Is it just cause of injuries? Super Grounds, by the way. Why you ever let him leave is anyone's guess. I lumped on 2-1 so hope you score second half.
