Another massive week in our season with 2 tricky away games. We’ve gone from 3rd to 9th in 2 weeks/3 games, however a pair of decent results could throw us right back into the mix, such is the tightness of the league.

We have a break now. Give us a chance to get players back from injuries and fit for the run in. I know points on the board are better than games in hand but it'll be nice to relax next weekend and then view the fallout at 5pm.

It's another huge game for us. Win and we're right in the shout for the automatic positions and still with a game in hand. A loss wouldn't be disastrous but it feels like a good time to play Exeter. They have a number of injuries in midfield and the consensus seems to be that they haven't been at their best in recent weeks but have managed to scramble together results.

We're full of confidence at the moment but 4 wins in a row is a tough ask. 4-6 points from the next 2 home games would be amazing.

Vale away on Tuesday which is one of our crucial games in hand. We’re going to be up against it to get anything as we’ve barely got any fit central midfielders with Tim Dieng and Kyle Taylor both going off injured and Atangana getting sent off. Just leaves us with Archie Collins and Taylor said he’ll need to recall some of our young players from loans to fill the bench. I expect Matt Jay could drop back into midfield but whatever happens it’ll be square pegs in round holes.

Add to that, Vale seem to be playing really well and if they beat us, top 3 is real target. So I’d be delighted with a point, basically!

First time we haven’t played Tuesday/Saturday since 5th feb. I knew Carlisle had picked up but I didn’t realise how much, looking at the form table.

Can’t believe Sky isn’t covering it really, it’s like the L2 version of El Classico

In a six pointer like this where a win will be huge for either team what you really want is a ref who is going to officiate the game in a calm manner. So naturally the EFL appoint Trevor Kettle.

Same again team wise for us. I love the energy Charsley and Garrity are bringing in the middle and being back in a three with Pett gives them both license to attack.

Whether Barrow win, draw or lose v Leyton Orient it is not in the nature of Mark Cooper to give up.
He will always want better. Remember that in 1st season FGR were in Football League they suffered same set of bad results as Barrow but next year MC managed FGR to the play-offs.
Be optimistic - Cooper is a good manager.

If we can’t get a penalty with Tricky Trevor we never will! Exeter probably will as well and neither will probably be fouls but still!

This is what I'm hoping is the case. Oldham need to play three games at the earliest to get ahead of us and that's assuming they win two and draw one and we don't pick anything up in that time. Realistically the gap is 7 points but it feels a hell of a lot closer when you're playing poorly.

Huge huge game this one, well both are Exeter and Sutton, four points would probably put us in a good position to attack the last 8 games, 6 would be massive.

Exeter seem to have a few out as do we but will be a very big battle, similar to Mansfield I expect, both sides having only lost 1 in months, (1 in 13 for us 1 in 14 for them I think).

Win and we finally get back into that top 7. Should be a cracking tie.

Weird team us, only had 1 win away from home up until February with 10 defeats, we've since won 4 of our last 5 aways under Lee.

We've nowt to play for, we're just here to potentially spoil a few playoff/promotion hopes.

I expect Newport to play in the same manner as Vale yesterday, they'd be stupid not to. However, Watt should be back and Walker and maybe Vernam should be fit enough to start. Those three improve our team tenfold and will allow us to actually play how Hughes wants us to.

I wonder whether Exeter with their injury problems will suddenly have an unexpected bout of Covid. People love it as an easy excuse.

Considering the injury crisis we played with during December I’d be annoyed! About time we had the boot on the other foot!

That said obviously they can’t avoid the ban and think some of the key injuries are a few weeks anyway.

Pretty much exactly this. No idea what midfield we can put out on Tuesday, which is a blow as most of our goals come from midfield or Nombe, who is also out.
I'd take a point right now. Especially if we have no further injuries after Tuesdau

No Missilou (international duty), Piergianni, Hart (suspended), Fondop, Luamba or McGahey (injured) for Sutton. Piergianni back for Mansfield. Can’t see anything other than two losses.

We played Orient earlier in the season with three out due to Covid.
We lost, obviously.
Yes, we subsequently had a few games called off when it really ripped through the camp, including the lucrative Boxing Day fixture. Didn't you call off games too?

I wasn't accusing as I don't think as a club Exeter are like that. I think every club over the Christmas period used Covid as an excuse to a greater or lesser extent. I was just stating really that it could be used as an excuse with so many injuries on top.

Big week for us, I feel if we want to get into that top 3 we need to come away from here with maximum points from both

Well if we shit the bed as we usually do on TV tonight I would go as far to say that Exeter will be looking like title favourites, which would be hard to take given how long we’ve been top and that it would mean Devon Lad was right about something for once.

Harrogate away tomorrow, after the first game was called off due to snow.

After our first win in 3 months we have a chance of trying to win back to back games for only the second time this season against another out of form side.

We have a hectic schedule so I'd expect more squad rotation where we need it. Paul Smyth played well Saturday for us, but is injury prone and can't do 2 games in a week so he'll likely sit on the bench and play against Barrow.

Our midfield is getting a bit better, but if Darren Pratley is fit he has to play. Ethan Coleman and Hector Kyprianou are both young and have crumbled at times - including on Saturday, despite winning we're still in trouble. Wellens is improving us, but you have to remember he isn't a miracle worker.

Why are you lot going ape shit crazy kn your forum saying we want / will try to get the game off and then referencing covid? Nobody in our team has covid ya bunch of numpties and the game isn't going to be off neither do we want it off

Notice that us and Brovers being top of the form table and meeting at the weekend, also alike in terms of who we lost to in our respective runs of form.

Feel like we owe Joey Barton one after making him look like some sort of genuis by capitulating to his team right after he'd said something ridiculous.

Think FGR should get themselves back on track tonight in this game. From what I’ve seen of Colchester they’re not the sort of team to high press and that’s the key to rattling FGR.

Good of Colchester to donate their gate receipts tonight to aid Ukraine. For any club at this level that’s a nice gesture.

Great start by FGR. Scored a lovely goal. Colchester need to get closer to them or it’s going to be a long night. Can’t get away with giving them time on the ball.
