Why are you lot going ape shit crazy kn your forum saying we want / will try to get the game off and then referencing covid? Nobody in our team has covid ya bunch of numpties and the game isn't going to be off neither do we want it off
I think it's a bit tongue in cheek. I'd say a Stevenage would definitely resort to it but I don't see Exeter as that sort of club. I think people have just become paranoid because Covid is used as an excuse for pretty much anything these days.

We haven't got any covid, we have a slight problem in centre midfield and our main striker out injured. Our defense is going to be as solid as a rock and we'll try to win with pace on the counter. Nobody in Exeter, fans or squad/management are scared of Port Vale. In fact, it's come up in all our memories on fb in 2018 we had you this time of the year on a Tuesday (away too) night and humiliated you. We're all pumped for it and we'll give it a good go. Still think we'll lose but we are more than capable of winning with the squad available. I'd be happy with a point. But the nonsense on your forum about us trying to get the game off is utterly embarrassing.

Utterly embarrassing nonsense on a forum? Perish the thought :D
Looking all right here, if not home and hosed. Middle of night here though, so slept through actual goal.

Ok......did you read what I put or just ignored it? I'm not sure where all this aggression comes from, you ok hun?

I wouldn't expect any team in this division to be scared of any other team in this division. We're all shite, hence we're in the bottom league.

I'm sure you'll come full of confidence. You're not going to just lie down and let us beat you, injuries or not.

Again, just to reiterate, I think a couple of people mentioned that it would be a funny coincidence if a team with a number of injuries and suspensions suddenly came down with Covid. It was very much tongue in cheek and I don't think anyone would seriously believe Exeter to be that sort of club. I'm pretty sure everyone took advantage of Covid over Christmas....including us.

Bit sensitive much? A couple of fans mentioned it, it was stated that Exeter are not seen as a Stevenage type shithousery club, not really much to get so excited about.

If the 2018 game is the one I recall we absolutely battered you and got mugged but that’s football and the shite of a squad we had that season (the worst we’ve ever had statistically) thankfully for us we can look at that squad and see how far we’ve come as a club from those dark Norman days and the likes of Pugh and Tonge in midfield.

Big game tomorrow and hopefully from our point of view James Wilson is fit and purring and we keep the performance levels of the last three games up. With Exeters midfield issues we have to try and dominate that area but will be a tough assignment regardless of injuries (not to mention we’ve had two of the leagues best players out for weeks).

I’m pretty certain you could go on any other teams forum and find something take issue with if you went looking for it. We are talking about 4 or so posts in the entire thread speculating on it.

That game in 2018 by the way would have been against a Vale team managed by Neil Aspin and contained carthorses like Tyrone Barnett, Michael Tonge and Danny Pugh among others. Every fucker beat us that year hence us nearly ending up in the pub league.

Colchester certainly putting in a lot of effort but I get the feeling FGR extra quality makes a second for them more likely than a leveller.

Wouldn’t say that was especially convincing by FGR and rode their luck a little with the one off the post but they got the win. I think that should kickstart them again now. Have to say that was the most ineffective have ever seen Cadden play though.

Fair play to FGR, they absolutely needed that. Question is, will they return to decent form or was tonight a fluke? Saturday even bigger than tonight now for them

The game dipped after half time, but worryingly for Dale, Colchester look far better than we have since we sold our two best players again in January.

There seems to be an almost apathetic outlook amongst Dale fans as in "we won't go down... we're too good " etc, but the reality is that we've been awful recently.

Pretty confident FGR won't go up automatically based on the games I've seen. How tf are they top? Blimey.

Vale v Exeter is a cracking game on paper. I very rarely watch any other football aside from ourselves but I might have a dip into this one tonight. Tough to call as both sides are in great form. I think Exeter have the better players but that doesn't always equate to the 3 points.

For most of the season they were untouchable, its not inconceivable they rediscover that form. What changed, do players look tired, or is it down to injury to a key player(s).

Should be a good battle this one.

I don't know enough about Exeter to compare individual players but key to our success has been Flickers this season, his recruitment apart from goal keeper is spot on. Players we expected to be meh like Garrity have fitted the system superbly and the likes of Charlsley, I had never heard of Connor Hall and he has been a rolls royce of a defender so far... so we've built a solid core around a few game changers such as Conlin, Gibbons and Wilson.

Its a bit scary and waiting to get burnt as we are not used to a professionally run club after the Smurf days and our recent past of scatter gun signings!

The only side he hasnt got right is goalkeeper... as Swindon saw for themselves!

Cant see our game being as good as people think given our injuries (and suspensions). Wouldn't surprise me if we just defend all game and hope our rock solid defence keep you at bay. No striker in this league or the league above will have an easy time against Stubbs. I expect we'll just park the bus and try to counter with pace to grab a goal

They weren't untouchable. Swindon embarrassed them on TV. We shouldve won both our games but somehow drew both. Deal with their wide players and they've got nothing else

Season is judged over 46 not a couple, we took 4 points off FGR but ultimately they are where they are because they are most consistent.

Very thin squad meaning we’ve relied on the same players all season, meaning now quite a few look jaded we don’t have any real options to change anything. Only bringing in one youngster on loan in January could have proved pretty costly but think we should just about get away with it.

Luck is a thing, as is inconsistent refereeing. Plenty of points can be won and lost on those two points alone.

Well you are the expert on refereeing I suppose
