He’s come on massively considering he was released from Stevenage and we picked him up as a trialist, key is going to be keeping him in January, we have given him a three year big contract so would take a big offer you’d think with that in mind, fact he’s local and got an academy set up with Smudge hopefully means he won’t be easily turned but will be a test of our owners if a big bid does come in.

He’s one that wouldn’t look out of place in the league above but hopefully that can be with us.

Aye, the good news is it will take a very good offer for us to consider allowing him to move on especially with him signing that extension in the summer. It won’t be like under the previous couple of owners where we flog him to the first bidder. Also would say at least we know any money we did get would go back into the team such as permanent deals for Cass and Politic for example.

Really hope we can keep him for the full year but if he did go the good news is very quietly Jake Taylor looks increasingly like the player we had on loan a couple of seasons ago so could slot him in there.

Earlier in season FGR were playing wonderful attractive flowing football with plenty of goals while not conceding any. Latterly not so much so and against Bradford both sets of fans had to watch basically a dour match.

I agree with most previous comments by those who attended game: -

[#] I expected Cargill to have been given a Red rather than Yellow on 45’ when he brought down Sutton on edge of box. FGR did bloody good preventing Bradford from scoring from resultant free kick.

[#] I did blink in amazement while watching equalising goal. Would be unhappy if that had been scored against FGR. Nevertheless it was a terrific goal by Young, who has yet to become a 1st team starting regular. Deserved FGR’s MoM.

[#] BBC stats give FGR 60% possession. At one time they held onto ball for about five minutes but credit to Bradford, they prevented ball from leaving the FGR half of field.

[#] Cannot agree that FGR players cheated. The tone for Bradford’s understandably anger started after that 45’ incident. On one occasion Adams was completely spun around after a dodgy foul. BBC FOUL stats have Bradford 15 to FGR’s 12.
I do agree with those who believe referee Marc Edwards should undergo more supervised training.

[#] I agree with comment on BBC website: "Valuable point for FGR against one of the
League’s underperforming giants."

Agree with most of that mate, apart from the cheating bit. Some of your players clearly did cheat. There was one laughable incident near the far corner flag from your fans at the kop end when one of your players feigned a trip when there wasn't a City player near him, even the dopey ref didn't fall for that one, but he should have booked him.

And the ability to take a result from a game whilst not being at our best? You created absolutely nothing yourselves and our keeper hardly had anything to do. You just knocked the ball around pretty well and looked dangerous but your end product was non-existent bar the goal. We're clearly one of the best teams in the league and just had a bad day at the office. Speaks volumes about you when it was one of your better performances of the season, and our absolute worst, and you still couldn't beat us and never looked like doing either.

Don't really disagree with any of that, not quite sure why you jumped to ultra defensive mode though, nobody said It was anything more than one bad performance, so yeah you wasted your time! Let’s cut out the sensitivity.

We were surprisingly decent yesterday. Nothing spectacular, but a comfortable away performance that was solid and organised.

Im assuming Harrogate had an off day or something because they offered nothing all game

It possibly does mate to be fair, you could hear how upset he was on his Tees interview.

How this lot come back time and again at home but fall apart with ease away is mad. They do it every time, go a goal down, heads drop and white flags all round.

DC said there's no strength in depth, no one taking responsibility and you can see he's pissed off. I hope that's all it is, not sure I can stomach him going down a league. The fact he's signed a new contract obviously not worth the paper it's written on if he's basically threatening to leave if Stockport want him.

Even if he doesn't go you can see Wrexham coming in for him when they sack Parkinson. The constant speculation probably isn't helping anyone so if he wants to clear off, realistically maybe it's better if he does.
The only positive I can even attempt to take from yesterday, is we got done 5-0 by Torquay this time last year, and that obviously never derailed the season.

If there’s nothing in the Stockport stuff then he needs to come out and squash it publicly, because it’s not a good look atm.

Aye his comments yesterday were very strange and more than a little worrying, he could've shut them down there and then, instead left it very open to interpretation.

My family live in Bradford so I watched game amongst the Bradford faithful.
I had close eye view of same incident. but draw different conclusion. Perhaps FGR player adopted the Francis Lee method of going down when fouled to signal to referee that they've been fouled.
I will say that it is not usual of our players to do that but the pitch was extremely slippery. On at least two or three occasions I saw a FGR player slip when nobody around. Wrong footwear obviously because Bradford apparently did not have same problem.

I've attended two away matches at Bradford and at final whistle on both occasions there has been a sense of [perhaps justifiable] frustration by Bradford supporters. No doubt this time FGR did get the majority of iffy decisions.

BTW I'd like to say I had a most enjoyable experience talking with the home supporters, who all knew I was FGR.

You should have come to the records bar before the game. A lot of away fans do and we all enjoy the chatting.

Glad you enjoyed your day at Valley Parade.

We are a partizan, passionate home crowd, but we are a very friendly set of fans and love to welcome well behaved like minded away fans, especially in the nearby bars and pubs.

When Leeds or Huddersfield visit though, different altogether and can get very volatile and toxic to say the least, especially with Leeds.

I don't normally blow smoke up my own teams arse! but we were awsome yesterday and dom telford is on fire, thats 7 in 3 and 8 in october should be nailed on for L2 player of the month
we saw touches of that when he was with us, but he kept pulling his hamstring, once as he was in the process of scoring. Glad he is injury free and is putting them away.

Think you're the one struggling here. Matt is offside at this point and then interferes with play by blocking off Canavan.View attachment 15741
Correct. Clear obstruction, and irrelevant whether he was offside of not. But sadly for you obstructions are rarely given nowadays. If he had not done this attacker would not have had a clear run on goal.

3rd win in a row and 13 unbeaten. We seem to have found a way to grind out wins of late which is really pleasing. Dawson made a couple of very good saves to keep us level plus we were unlucky when Caprice hit the cross bar.

Matt Jay has 5 goals in 5 and is now joint top scorer in the league alongside Telford, which is impressive considering he’s more of a number 10.

And I have to say that I will eat my words about Jake Caprice. He always seemed a bit meh but he’s playing superbly at LWB. He loves to cut in onto his right foot and his shot at the end which hit the Salford ‘keeper and went in, was a superb hit.

Also, we took over 500 up to Salford which is amazing support. Up the City.

Very impressive support yesterday. I saw it on Quest highlights and was very surprised to see the numbers. Is that usual for you this season, if so remarkable given the distance you have to travel nearly every week

FISH, you should concentrate more on your own team rather than try to intimidate on this one.
Your post prompted me to check out the Non-League table to find that Grimsby are on the crest of a SLUMP and have fallen down table.

Nah he’s by far the worse, at least you yourself can admit when your players are up to the dark arts, just like I would if our players were up to it too.

Btw I’ve contacted my mate Trev, an elite EFL referee, and his opinion was the ref got every decision right in the Bradford game cos he’s the star of the show referee and his decision is final and should never be questioned.

Agree completely apart from the decisions bit. The away side are not there to please the fans and it is up to the home side to play to the whistle and run the show. They simply have to disregard all decisions they don't like for that will happen to every team for a number of games in the season. Sorry Trev but the ref was very poor but it was up to us to overcome it.

sounds like someone’s bitter to me. watched the game today, and with respect despite being “terrible” as many tranmere fans have labelled us the minute we went infront they didn’t lay a glove on us.

Soft, but a foul, yes. Laughable defending though, regardless of any mitigating factors regarding any potential offside. Why didn't one of your lads take him out and take the booking for the team? I'd be hugely disappointed if we let an opposition player bundle his way through like that.
ah

in fairness RLC, i laughed at that for a good minute, oops.

Thanks for not ripping me how i should have been ripped.

We’ve got tranmere away down for the weekend next year, we somehow always seem to get the better of you, been to prenton park many times, we mainly seem to draw 0-0

We do travel well generally and suspect people are making the most of being able to go to away games again. Hopefully it will continue and I really want to be part of away days again soon. Must take my boys along, they’d love it.

From the most biased blinkered poster on here I’ll be honest, this comment has surprised me:

This one, not so much:
Those two statements you quote are actual mutually harmonious.
[#] Players are instructed to play to the whistle, irrespective of whether they think the referee got it wrong.
If you had bothered to extract full quote, you'll read that I felt uncomfortable at refs decision although FGR benefitted from it.
[#] All teams indulge in gamesmanship. That is not cheating.

Once again I have the benefit over yourself.
I was at game so have 1st class knowledge of incident.
But same with your comments regarding game against Scunthorpe, your opinions are all 2nd hand or from a short video clip.
So I don't need to apologise for voicing honest opinions that you may disagree with.
