I'm off to Bromley on Saturday where I'm not expecting much from Gary Brabins underachieving Tranmere.

Very good Sparrow.

Hope I'm feeling as pleased after our game against form team Southport.

Tomorrow is the sort of game we have to be winning, if we're going to have serious aspirations of making the play-offs. Halifax, on paper, will be the first real test we've had during our good run. We've come through tricky away games at Gateshead (5-1) and Wrexham (3-1) but both sides were in poor form - Halifax aren't. Our record against them is good, played 5, won 4, drawn 1 but I expect it'll be much tougher than it has been previously.

On our play-off hopes in general, I think we might just fall short again. I think we're missing a bit of extra quality up front, since Holman's departure. Sole and Quigley are good but neither quite have the Scott Rendell/JackMarriott/Dan Holman factor. Hill will still be looking for the right striker. He won't rush, we've seen that before - like when we went almost three months in 2013-14 with a centre-back up front. He's pulled many rabbits out of the hat when we've needed them most. Whether he can this time will remain to be seen, I really hope he can.

And then there's whether we'll stay injury free, we need the likes of Jones, Goddard, Ricketts to stay fit throughout these remaining months if we're going to be in with a chance. Top 10 minimum now, really, which is amazing considering where we were three months ago. Top 7, again, would be remarkable. Looking forward to run-in.

1-0 to Grimsby already, Monkhouse with the goal.

Apparently there are sometimes other players on the pitch that aren't Padraig Amond??

We've got a very inexperienced ref today.

Surprisingly he's having a completely shite game.

Via The_Boss: "Sorry for the early match day thread but thought it's probably the best place for this to go.....
http://mobile.mtfc.co.uk//news/article/lee-rigby-family-to-attend-armed-forces-day-2911829.aspx

We're holding an Armed Forces Day this Saturday against Aldershot, all past and present servicemen and women are being given free admission to the game, fittingly against Aldershot with their towns rich history within the forces. Also Lee Rigby's family will be attending to raise awareness of the charity Scotty's Little Soldiers. Hopefully will see a good turnout to pay respects and thanks to the sacrifices they all make for us."

It's been a while since I've done one of these and after the success of the Garry Hill thread and no one really wants just a thread with the fixtures posted in it, resembling the same amount of effort Brett Williams applies when not playing on TV.

Since the last batch of fixtures, 14 days have passed so here's a reminder of where we're at...

Excellent, great to have a laugh.
Great to see Macca doing this fantastic event to honour the Armed forces. Brilliant.
I raise a lot of money for forces charities and hope everyone backs you with a few quid in the pot too.

For once I agree with you. Seems some are trying to trigger a rivalry that just isn't there.
FGR are the real deal, we all know how but they are on a good run as are the ones in the top few spots.
No favourites for me, anyone's title

Altys tricky winger number 15 looks really good, sadly for them he looks the only one who is.
Very one sided game but Alty look dangerous from crosses, a couple more goals for us in the second half I think, we look excellent going forward.

We're 2-1 up at Aylesbury FC. Our totally unbiased twitter feed (sarcasm) suggests we should be out of sight at this point, and that they scored from a corner which should have been a goal kick. Also apparently no less than 3 handballs in the box by Aylsebury players. The kind of commentary that suggests we won't be leaving with the maximum points!

Alty just denied a stone wall penalty. Seems having shit refs isn't all bad.
