No complaints about the score, a point apiece was a fair reflection of the game. No real complaints about the sending-off either - it could have been just a yellow, but the ref was entitled to show a red. However, the cynical behaviour of the Halifax players after the foul should be a source of embarrassment to everybody connected with the club. Ten players surrounding the ref (at least the goalkeeper didn't join in, I suppose) to pressurise him into sending the player off was horrible to watch.

Yeah it wasn't great to watch. But I'd be embarassed to watch my team moan to the ref every other minute of the game and dive to the extent Woking did.

Swings and roundabouts I suppose.

New boy Moore had a great game and deserved his MoM, maybe just ahead of Clough. Braintree had a good shape I thought and you can see why they travel well (also only way they get a game on of course).
Fan of Sinclair but wish he'd pass it forward more, always seems to go back or sideways.

No diving, and any moaning was hardly surprising given the fact that the referee had already shown from the sending-off that he was easily influenced (as your ten outfield players obviously noticed).

Anyhow onto the game...

We came out of the blocks really well and Woking probably didn't complete a pass until 5 or so minutes in. After that, Woking settled in to their rhythm and looked a very good passing side. Then the sending off happened (as I've said earlier harsh, but 1 Woking player had to go). They then scored a good goal after a decent counter.

From then on we had a lot of possession and huffed and puffed before Walker put away an excellent free kick. We then had our best spell of the game and could have got another. Second half was again, we had the possession with Woking looking good on the break. Woking hit the bar and both sides could have snatched a winner. Peniket missed a gilt-edged chance in stoppage time but it would have been hugely unfair on Woking to lose that game.

Goddard and the left back Norman(?) hit the deck at every opportunity, which was frustrating as Goddard's clearly got talent . Woking's build up play was also usually all in vain as Quigley was the definition of a useless big lump. Very odd crowd at Kingfield with a eclectic mix of the elderly and wannabe thug, but everyone I spoke to was decent enough.

Good point, unbeaten run continues.
We pretty much settled for the draw in the 66th minute taking off Andrade, who was realistically our main chance of scoring with his pace on the counter attack. Draw was probably a fair result, I think Arthur's challenge probably deserved a yellow but he can't really have any complaints with the way he went in. Your goal was from a very fortunate free-kick but as said you definitely deserved a point and had a couple of other decent chances particularly in the 2nd half. Really need Dover to lose tomorrow and us to get 3 points against Alty on Tuesday to keep up the play-off push with almost every team having a game in hand or two on us.

Alfreton 1 (Meikle 81) Chorley 0

Another strong and impressive performance from us today. We are really looking like a solid outfit now with the players visibily playing with an "we attitude rather than a "me" attitude as Nicky put it in his post match interview.

Brad McGowan and Tom Allan (how had his best game by a mile) were rock solid at the back. Sam Jones Meikle and Dan Bradley were a constant threat all afternoon. We should have won by at least 2 more really. Sam Smith missed too guilt edge chances in the First half. One unmarked from a Corner which he headed over and the second when he headed a pinpoint Dan Bradley cross straight at the keeper. Chorley were a solid, physical hard working unit who made it difficult for us. But it was us who made all the running and had all the best chances. Andy Bond played well for Chorley though and set up there only real chance for an umarked Jordan Connerton who headed over.

As for the goal. A strong run from the impressive and MOTM Allan ended with his shot deflecting straight to meikle who showed real composure to tuck it past the keeper.

Just such a shame that the run of 10 games where we couldnt buy a win has killed us in terms of play-offs. Very satisfied with the way things are looking for 2016 though. We look we really have found our feet now.

Only 3 players in our history have scored in more consecutive games than Padraig Amond, ridiculous form.

Despite winning 5-0 and it looking really easy, Tom Nield, the referee, had an absolute shocker. Like others have said there were a few penalty claims that should have been awarded and a lot of tackles which deserved a yellow. Altrincham looked decent for patches in the game but just couldn't get anywhere near our goal. McKeown had a quiet game between the sticks for us.

Yeah, know what you mean, coz like, I know for a fact no Woking players have ever done that. Ever. :bdick:

A good point for us considering we played 65 minutes with 10 men.

Onto Altrincham on Tuesday. Ideally need to pick up four points from Halifax and Alty.

Nah, made an executive decision not to do the Tin Pot clubs anymore, from now on I only give my dosh to the real clubs. Sorry. :ds:
Oh right, I thought you might be one of the four tossers standing behind the goal moronically shouting "Yaaarrkshire" like it was something to be proud of rather than a badge of shame.

Good to get a point at Woking, one more point closer to survival than projected, and we did well to avoid any injuries from their style of play. They're better at home and the previous Town manager wouldn't've been able to muster a draw there if we were allowed to command a fully trained pack of 30 lions alongside the starting XI. That's 10 points in our four away games under Harvey, all against the playoff chasing pack, and shows we still put up a fight when off the boil. Given the amount of the play we dictated in the second half our attacking was as sharp as a bag of wet mice, pretty ponderous stuff.

Nice one another FGR fan. Green Army. :2thumb:

Agree Moore looked classy at the back, looking forward to seeing what he can do up front. Braintree solid but lacked a goal threat, although tbf they were up against a very good defence and a keeper in Arnold who is looking better and more confident every week. His distribution is really improving as well.

You can stick your fancy attacking football (Grimsby), if we keep grinding out these ugly wins we've got a great chance. Who cares about goal difference? Pressure on Cheltenham tomorrow.

Deep down I still think we'll survive but we're in a bit of trouble now. Need the loanees to settle in and make a difference sooner rather than later.

We know what we have to do. A big test today without Aaron Downes for the first time. We will have to play with Harries and Parslow at the back and I'm concerned that we'll be missing that calming influence.

I expect us to play 4-3-3 with Holman and Waters playing off Wright up front. Munns, Pell and Storer in the middle. Wish I was going, but I love my bed too much (and it's not payday until tomorrow).

Fair point for us yesterday, we were all over Chester in the first half, they were the better side after the break. Little in the way of clear cut chances made by either side.

The pub by the station was its usual oddball self - full of wannabe lads dressed up like extras from The Football Factory. They went on to sit in the seats closest to us at the match, and spent the whole time scowling at us but also keeping quiet. I'm still trying to figure out what all that was about!

That was in response to the highly tasteful "you should have drowned in the floods"

To do so i think you'll need to drag Guiseley or Chester in to the mire. B-Wood need to turn their last three good draws in to a run otherwise they will get sucked in too. The way we were playing i said that once we got out of the bottom four we wouldn't go back in and i stand by that.

Is it true that it was discovered he was related to one of your players and that is why the switch was made?
Where did you hear that from? First i've heard, must have been a family member he hated if true

Far too easy for us yesterday, I don't think we even got out of 2nd gear. Don't agree with Fishy that Altrincham looked decent at times, I thought they were poor throughout. Having said that the referee was awful and did miss 3 clear penalties (2 for them and 1 for us) but I think McKeown only had 1 save to make all game.

I thought Tranmere were worthy winners at Bromley yesterday, dominating the midfield and defence for the opening hour at which point we should of been out of sight. Tranmere sat back for the final half hour and Bromley came into the game more.
Good day out all round in one of footballs poshest backwaters, although the less said about the 4 portaloo's on offer to the visiting contingent the better. Talk about tin pot piss pots.
