Welcome Barnsley - we missed you last time so looking forward to our game.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen us play Barnsley before and a quick google shows our last league game in 1993, making me 2 at the time

Sorry Barnsley have dropped but 3 nice northern clubs to play next season if/when we fail in the play offs.

Meh, would have preferred Bolton we’ve played Barnsley loads last 12 years

Guess it’s another local game next season

Much prefer the Bristol club in this division. Hopefully you don't have a weird little hobbit lookalike "weekend offender" poster here.

just pissed off you're no longer the " biggest" league one club in South Yorkshire.

With Burton and Barnsley coming down you’d like to think the league’s autos won’t be sewn up by relegated clubs next year and there might be a battle. Not that we will be involved.

Our time will come again but for now we are very poor on every level, no denying that

Fancy you mocking appearance. Enjoy the three games you attend next season.

Burton and Barnsley aren’t no Wigan and Blackburn, I think they’ll fit fairly comfortably into their new surroundings (like the last two times Barnsley were in this league)

We'll have a decent budget next season. Get the right manager in and I'm confident we'll adapt easily enough.

We just started playing like absolute shit in January. Players dropped out of form and confidence. The January window was disastrous as we signed no quality for the squad apart from Ryan McGowan who got injured. Which meant the players out of form and confidence kept their place and nothing changed until the last month when we started sorting ourselves out and finding a balanced side.

Realistically we need probably 7-10 quality signings to challenge next season which won’t happen.

Anyone you have in mind? Bar Mowbray all the top 6 have managers who’ve never managed above this level whilst the likes of Rosler, Clark and Ferguson who have have been rather poor

Think there are a number of reasons tbh.

Budget been slashed leaving us with a serious lack of depth, but we still had a decent first 11, which is probably why we did well until January.

But there are other reasons I think, allegedly huge off field problems, with players refusing to play and alleged racism, creating a split in the squad. The previous manager and one of the chairman just didn't get on, which can't of helped.

We were also unlucky with huge injuries and a few suspensions, something we were lucky with last season, leaving the quality of the overall squad exposed.

Terrible pitch, which whilst both teams have to play on it, we fared far better away from home, at least until January. Don't think the atmosphere being so flat all season helped, even when we were doing well early on, I think the play off final defeat played some part in that.

There's probably more.

Oh good. Another team miles away. Would have rather had Birmingham or Reading.

Oh well. Just hope Charlton don't go up.

At least you aren't Bolton.

Having said that, I've never been to Oakwell so it's a chance to tick that one off. A ground we rarely do well at, mind.

How very dare you. I'm disappointed Barnsley went down. Games between us over the last decade must average about 5 goals a game.

Just a joke mate. Don't really care either way. Some decent Bristol City posters and you're quite right we've had some good matches in past.

Nailed on and he will take you straight back up
No chance he'll come unfortunately. He'll have championship suitors (Leeds is my guess), will want to manage at a higher level than league one and has said in the past he'd never want to tarnish his reputation with our fans. I'd love it if he did manage us but not gonna happen.

Barnsley must still have a good budget at their disposal after John Stones windfall, would expect them to spend to get back in the Championship ?

Sorry to see Barnsley relegated. However, they will bring a reasonably large and good-humored following to Spotland - where hopefully a plant pot will be provided in case they lose!
