After a nervous finish to the game, a well deserved return to the Football League to Bristol Rovers.

Looking forward to another away day at the Mem next season. Everyone's thoughts on the game and their promotion?

Bad luck Grimsby, horrible way to miss out on promotion.

Glad Rovers are back. Good club who without using that terrible cliche 'are too big for the conference'. Always bring a good following to the Bescot and I love the Mem for some reason. Good club, with a good fan base that should be a top end league 2/mid table league 1 club. Excellent.

I would have preferred Grimsby, hopefully they can get up next season with one of Lincoln, Wrexham, Tranmere, or Cheltenham

After the utterly shambolic way their fans acted when they went down, I will not be welcoming them back with open arms.

And they'll finish above us next season...

Aye, welcome back Rovers and well done to Darrell Clarke who I like as a manager.

Nice to have you back as we have a decent record against you home and away :D

Going to be dangerous opponents next season if they recruit well. Certainly won't want to be playing them in the opening few weekends. They will have the finance behind them; I remain to be convinced that their squad is going to be strong enough to get into next season's top 7. With no Luton and Cambridge this year, Barnet and Bristol Rovers had an "easier" task than both our clubs.

Starting to remember how much I hate them.. Already my facebook is full of them crawling out of the woodwork. If my team had just scraped out of a semi professional league, id wipe my brow with a sigh of relief and look forward to hopefully gaining some respectability back in the football league not crowing about how amazing it all is. Jesus christ.

Well done to Darrel Clarke thogh. Nice guy and hes done a great job to get them back. Screw their fans though.

Well done, Rovers.

Close games are few and far between for us so I'm obviously pleased to have them back.

Well Done Bristol Rovers, I look forward to facing you again for the #999999th time :bye:

Best thing they did last summer was keeping Clarke in charge, IMO they'll do as well as Luton did last season.

Pleased to see them come back up.

On the last day of last season I said that sometimes you've got to go down to come back stronger, and boy they've done that.

Happy for Mansfield lad darrell clarke

What? Why am I talking bollocks?

They could easily turn round to your lot and say you ought to be in the Championship anyway so celebrating a promotion from a 'lesser' league should also be treated with contempt. Just let them enjoy their promotion rather than trying to score points.

Well done Rovers

Yes very well done Rovers.

Whatever your view of their fans and whether or not you think a club their size should have got out of that league anyway (and they're not even the biggest club to drop into the Conference), this has to be considered one of, if not the most impressive promotion for any team at that level. Promoted at the first attempt out of a division, that has proved monstrously difficult for most ex-League teams to get out of (think how long it took clubs the size of Oxford and Luton), with the utmost professionalism from the manager to the players, and a minimum of fuss and arrogance, without the inconsistency that often marred Shrewsbury and Carlisle and which caused more than a fair share of their supporters to doubt their manager's capabilities - and with a mighty impressive run of just two defeats in 39 league games, achieved with no little style.

I think they could well be challenging again next season.

Hi guys. Pleasure to be back. Not quite sure why City fans are annoyed, miles above us yet seemingly incredibly bitter.

Got an inkling we may do alright next season with a couple of additions.

Well done Rovers

I doubt my post had any effect on them enjoying their day to be honest. ;)

Your comparison isnt quite right since we've spent a fair chunk of our history in league 1 whereas they had no business ever being in the conference... But I see what point you are trying to make.

Just to remind the Gas fans there will be some big clubs in league 2 next season, glad we got promoted back to league 1 quickly!

Plymouth
Portsmouth
Oxford
Luton
Notts County

I would also expect Bristol Rovers to have a similar season to Luton but they will have tough competition from the likes of Northampton, Leyton Orient, Southend/Wycombe, Exeter, and I fancy Morecambe, Hartlepool and Carlisle to have good seasons as well!

I think Crawley and Yeovil will struggle

Brizzle are miles behind how good we were when we won the Conference though. Then again, they don't really have a star man to lose like we did with Gray. I could see it going either way for them next season. I would say they are quite a lot stronger than the Cambridge team that came up so mid-table at least, they'll need to strengthen a fair bit to do more than that IMHO.

A lot depends on their court case regarding the contract of their (now virtually dead) new ground project which should be announced next week. They are in a legal tussle with sainsburys. If they get a decent payout, theyll be in a good position to push on. If they get nothing however, I fear for their future as theyll be stuck with heavy debt and little chance of building a good squad or improving their ground. As much as I hate them, I hope that doesnt happen.

Well done Rovers, good to see them back.
The fact they managed it at the first attempt makes it even funnier how long Luton where stuck down there for.
Is even more likely that we will get a Bristol cup draw again next season.

As others have stated above, you're kidding yourself if you think you wouldn't celebrate promotion from the conference.

Any promotion is a great achievement, your lot celebrated winning the JPT for crying out loud.

That last sentence doesn't make any sense. Luton weren't competing against Luton were they?
