A lot of people seem to like the shoutbox - personally i don't use and probably never will use it, but if it must go then maybe consider using chatango? An embed-able live chat box that can be customized to fit anywhere on the site

Largely speaking, site functionality should now be near normal. A few things still need configuring but we're nearly there.

Everything is working fine again TB, many thanks for all your hard work, there is one small point though, I have never used the shout box facility and have checked the box to have it turned off, but now there's an annoying little red flag box above the S/B to let me know how many users are on it, would it be possible to have the notification removed?

I like it, only modest changes but it looks swish.

I do have a couple of suggestions. Instead of having that 'gallery' thing on the right near the top, could we not have a 'new threads' thing to get people involved with new stuff, or (I'm not sure how feasible this would be), a 'Popular threads' box of 5 threads that have received the most hits in the past day or whatever?

Just some thoughts

Which would be nice. If I ever used it. As it is the notification is just an annoying red distraction.

There should be an x in the top right hand corner if you click that the notifications should disappear too.

Can an Admin comment on the likelihood of the forum crashing etc. with the next forum game ready to go with probable pressure put on the server with a lot of refreshing/posts etc?

I must be naturally dense otherwise I would have found the fucking x to turn the facility off, as someone said earlier, checking the box in preferences to disable the S/B doesn't work, please enlightened me........

What happened this morning ? Looked as if the site had crashed....no access whatsoever.

Trial and error going on/offline whilst we try and sort a few lingering issues. May be the same for a while yet unfortunately.

Rather sort it out properly and run permanently though than think we have fixed it and then have the same issue in a couple of weeks again.

Not particularly no, it's just a different issue this time and is causing unexpected lingering problems.

Has this resulted in messages that have been posted being no longer there. I'm sure several of mine over the night have been removed
