Can't see 10k a week for a second. 4 to 6 perhaps. I had heard second highest paid ever, since Rickie Lambert, and 10k would absolutely eclipse that. Seeing as the club made public DC was highest paid manager ever, I would imagine they'd have done the same with Taylor.

Have to say, I'm delighted he's staying, and always said I would be no matter of time it took. Still got all the main pre-season games, but suffice to say we still need two more signings.

Bollocks to that! Just welcoming the newbie even though he's a methane snorting ****! ;)Tell me you weren't chuckling when we signed your favourite neighbours best player yesterday?
We aren't half helping you in your A420 squabble this season.
I don't know.

It pisses me off when in the last 18 months we have sold players for more than the stains have just trousered but whereas they have reinvested some of it in their overall squad we end up feeling like Oliver asking for some more gruel.

Sure, we've got some talented youngsters coming through but you can't base a campaign on under 18s. They'll get kicked to shit every week.

I think the £10K a week is aimed at us rather than yourselves Miagsy. COD wanted that amount but I would be surprised if we were paying him that much.

Quietly i'm very pissed off with the lack of activity so far. Thought we had deals lined up for as soon as the window opened...

I'd be slightly surprised at that too. It would be one hell of a jump in wages when, like Taylor, he is unproven above League Two level.

A couple of annoyed Oxford fans on Twitter are claiming we're paying Taylor 10k a week in his new deal, which is absolute nonsense. That would mean he is earning 5k a week more than Lambert was when he was with us! I think Miagsy is closer to the mark, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was around £3k.

I'm sure I read that Taylor has doubled his money. Any idea what he was on before?

I always thought 1k? His contract was signed in the conference but he would have gotten a promotion wage increase. I firmly doubt he's on 2k now, definitely more.

Even if it doubled through promotion clauses, that would make it £4K a week now. Decent money that in L1.

I spoke to Darrell Clarke at the Supporters Club meeting a month after we were relegated from League Two in 2014 and Taylor had just signed. He openly admitted to two or three of us afterwards that the likes of Taylor were being paid around the £500-£600 mark per week.

That will have gone up ahead of last season for sure, but he wasn't on much more than £1000 p/w I don't think. If we're assuming his new deal has seen that doubled, I would hazard a guess that he is now on between £2k-£3k p/w.

Could be wrong of course, but that's my half educated guess.

Bird, you really belived Poundland Power had deals lined up, come on we all know we are going to get the same as last year, a few loans and and the bargin basements that have not been picked up by the likes of Accrington and such like.

Blind optimism maybe. Just thought we'd have learnt from last season. Might change over the next 3 weeks of course, there's still time, but getting more and more frustrating.

Worry no more. I bumped into Power deliberating his transfer budget and he took this selfie for me

Patience is a virtue guys.

Of course would love to see players being signed asap but we should have learnt by now that Power plays more of a long game in the transfer market. Hopefully he'll have learnt from the punts of Ojamaa etc and we'll find a few gems.

Happy with Conor Thomas and Goddard signing so far (and JSW). Hopefully we'll add a few more and our youth players might start to filter through, Evans, Young and Tom Smith seem to be doing ok Pre-season so far.

Then he shouldn't have banged on about doing business early. I'm still not convinced that Power only brings players in that may benefit him in the future rather than what would benefit the team.

Is Power your director of football or just owner?

Why are you looking to/ blaming him for signings and not your manager/head coach?

Can we all just take a minute to realise that Swindon still have Rapheal Rossi Branco and haven't got rid of him.

He's prone to the odd gaff, I'll grant you - what L1 CB isn't - but he's not that bad.

I'd come back with a witty quip about one of your players - but I don't know any.

They scored 6 against us so we should remember some - Canavan maybe? Paddy Madden plays for Scunthorpe doesn't he?

Oh, the humiliation of getting stuffed by such a carbuncle on the backside of football.

That may have formed his opinion of Bwanco.
