Wank display but still not as wank as some in the league. ;)

Good luck to West Ham and Bilic, always liked them.

Honestly thought Liverpool would win this, but then I thought we'd beat Southampton the other week, so what do I know. Still think Liverpool have a chance of top four this season.

Bad performance and to get done 5-0 on aggregate to West Ham is embarrassing. We could play til the evening game kicks off and still have a nil scoreline.

I don't blame Klopp as he's inherited a lot of shit, but now with the financial backing and the transfer window open he needs to make his own stamp on the team before bigger questions start getting asked.

West Ham were well worth their 2-0 win good shape, first to every ball and completely made our attacking players anonymous. We had a lot of play but I doubt their defenders were worried when they see Lallana, Can and Firmino running sideways 40 yards from their goal.

Disappointed as it was the perfect opportunity to put pressure on the teams around us and be within touching distance of 4th, however, the way this season is going you never know what's around the corner. Thankfully pretty much every other team are as shit as us on the regular and that's the only hope we have now, but it's lame to be relying on other teams to help us out.

The worst thing about this game is not that it was a shit performance, the worst thing is that it was a predictable shit performance.

Who's fault was it this week then?
Rodgers's and Klopp's :pond:
The former bought too many average players and the latter isn't getting them play any better.

Not that West Ham are easy opponents at the Boleyn, I think they're now seven unbeaten there or something like that.

Its going to be a season of win a game, lose a game I think. Summer can't come quick enough just now! :D

On the way back from the game. Can't add much, surely lost the possession stat but really the most hairy moments for us didn't really involve a player through on goal or Adrian having to pull out a string of saves. Though I feared the worst when Lanzini went off as we then didn't have anyone in the middle who could keep the ball, thought Song would have been a better option than Obiang in that respect.

Really impressed with Bilic though. We started the season scoring loads but were shaky at the back, then the injuries hit to pretty much all our best players - Reid, Sakho, Payet, Valencia, Lanzini, Moses and I feared we'd concede goals and not be able to score them. However in the midst of that spell Bilic has got that defence really solid, with in theory the 3rd and 4th best CBs in the middle and a CB at right back. Now we've got those attacking players coming back, if we can marry the two sides of the ball we've got a special team going - probably the best I've seen in my lifetime.

Just a shame the injuries hit, as looking at the league table we could easily have been sniffing around the lower CL places.

Exciting times at UP.

I thought the same thing too. Makes the the victory more impressive, losing him and only bringing on Payet once the game was won.

Your team fully fit is certainly good enough for good challenge on top 4 finish. West Ham have done some great work in the transfer market.

What have Lanzini and Payet cost compared to Friminho and Lallana? I know which two I'd rather have in my squad.

Just got back from it, was a great performance. I just knew Carroll was going to score and he took it well like he always does. I thought Liverpool were poor and didn't really deserve anything out of it, they were predictable and didn't offer a lot upfront, however, I'm extremely pleased with our result and the way we played especially with Payet coming back and already looking good!

Shy of £50m for the Liverpool pair compared to approx £12m for Payet and Lanzini's loan fee. Though Payet is clearly a cut above all our other attacking players, I sincerely hope we can sign Lanzini permanently and there's a good set fee written into the contract, we'll find out soon enough.

I hadn't realised you'd only signed Lanzini on loan. Hopefully for your sake there is a pre-agreed price, it'll only be going up otherwise and other teams will likely be interested if his form holds up.

We are on 5th on Match of the Day! BBC are so clueless sometime, to think there were over 40 shots today and we are still behind the likes of Sunderland and Aston Villa.
