Superb series and as you say Spall was excellent, we need more programmes like this on tv.
The last episode was rather underwhelming I thought. It was a bit ropey for me, but enjoyable enough.

That last scene looking at a piece of art? I'm lost now.

Nah, think that's the end of episode 3. Episode 2 ends with an awesome fight scene.

Cheers mate i'll stick with it. One problem i have is the legal partner who does nothing but complain about everything.

Did anyone else watch the 'Brothers in blood' programme on Friday? I thought it was superb.
For those that didn't know about it, a team of cameramen followed 6 male lions from birth until their ultimate demise over 16 years. If it's shown again, I would recommend it to anyone but don't let young kids watch it as it's brutally graphic at times.

I re watched the first series of The Trip this weekend. Brilliant stuff. The contrast between the successful but lonely Coogan with the not as successful but happy Brydon is excellent. Very funny in places too.

Watched the first 4 episodes of series 5 of Strike back and loving it, it's all a bit silly with the high body count but i can't get enough of it!

Great treatment of a part of history that passed us by over here - a period that underpins the continental attitude to the EU as much as the 20th century wars .

Anyone else see Protecting Our Foster Kids on BBC2 last night? A brilliant documentary about kids in foster care and their carers, I have so much respect for everyone involved.

We're struggling for something to watch at the minute. That last thing we watched that we both really enjoyed was Peaky Blinders. We're re-watching Fargo and the odd Spooks at the minute but could really do with some recommendations? I fancy the new Hannibal season but will probably have to watch that on my own as our lass doesn't like the gore in it

^ If the pair of you are amenable to sci-fi (lite), give Orphan Black a try. It's funny, compelling, quick-paced and charmingly daft, and it's anchored by a multi-faceted performance from Tatiana Maslany that may be the best by anyone (male or female) on TV right now. It's not one of those shows that you need to persevere with because the really good stuff happens halfway through series 3, or any shite ike that. It finds its stride almost immediately, and you should know within 1-2 episodes whether it's for you or not. First series is still on Netflix.

Or just say bollocks to nice guy sensitivity and make her watch Hannibal. It's really good.

I'll check out Orphan Black, thanks. I like the sound of it as I tend to be put off by shows with mammoth amount of seasons to them, unless I KNOW I will really enjoy it.
I fucking love Hannibal and did try her with it. We got through the first episode but then when a murderer was using victims bodies as fertiliser it pretty much broke the limits of her constitution and she made me turn off.

Where mate?

Now TV, there's only the 4 episodes so far but it doesn't say when the rest will be available to watch. You can probably watch it on the streaming site watchseries as well.

Watched a three part doc with Dan Snow about the Armada. Had ropey acting in it which I hate in docs and every episode we had to endure a re - explanation of who everyone was and what they did, however hearing the details of how the Spanish fucked it all up and how Howard and Drake eventually won only for them and the sailors to become pariahs after saving England coz Lizzie was such a tight bitch, was interesting.

Just started watching Justified. Is it any good? I've watched episode 1, was ok.
Up there in my top 10. Be careful of overdosing. We made the mistake of watching 3 episodes in a row a few weeks back (catching up with an earlier season we missed) and you miss the chance to savour the quality. A couple of great lead characters but the supports would not be out of place in a selection of Coen Brothers movies.

Watched the first part of the BBC adaptation of Iain Banks' Stonemouth last night. I loved the book, thought it was still good on TV but just didn't quite work as well. Highlights were the scenery, general Scottishness and Charlotte Spencer as Ellie Murston.

Cheers for the reply. Currently it's just commuting time watching it so two episodes a day is the plan. Depends how much I get in to it if i binge at home really. Is it a slow starter? First two episodes are decent but not outstanding.

Can't say for sure (coz I started 3 in and then caught up) but it probably is. Actually, the way I got into it then caught up may be the ideal - but not recommended.

I've watched the first 5 episodes of The Last Ship, anyone else seen this? A virus is wiping out the earths population but an American warship was in the arctic so avoided it, it's not as bad as it sounds honest!

Anyone planning on watching Humans tonight on Channel 4? It's based on some Swedish show apparently, about artificial intelligence in everyday life. It's got Jen from The IT Crowd in it as well strangely.

I'm only watching it because it's co-produced by AMC. It's a good basis for a show if they can get it right.
