I teach English to Catalan adults. Their level ranges from very low (i tend to avoid this level, pretty boring), where a lot of the lessons are taught in Spanish, up to an advanced level who either need it to pass an official exam (required for some jobs, uni entry etc) or want it for a specific work purpose, or like one of my current students that I meet for lunch twice a week, who lived in Australia for 5 years and just wants to maintain level.

I'd say half my classes are 1-to-1 and we spend most the time talking about various things I've planned and helping them with any errors / problems. Then the other half are groups of 4-8 students, usually using a textbook, with whatever else I feel like preparing for them. I also have a couple of in-company classes near my house where I go into their offices, which pay well.

I also do teacher-training, so am one of the tutors for people who are taking a one-month tefl course to become english teachers. I've just started this recently and it's pretty demanding but good fun.

I'd say i work 5/6 hours on average a day, plus a bit of time planning, although I'm pretty experienced now so this is less than it was. I then get lots of time off to spend at the beach / studying myself, going for tapas lunches and taking naps.

I'm happy with it, anyway.
