Missus has decided to have a birthday on opening day so only way I'm going is if it's away somewhere decent we can make a weekend of. With that in mind I'm praying for Luton away.

Nah Carlisle for a weekend in the lakes wouldn't be bad.

That would suit me. Get you out of the way before all of your galacticos gel together, we may even sneak a point.

Notts away so we can send their doom-monger fans on here into an early-season tizz.

Also good opportunity for a full morning on the sauce.

Yep unless we get Newport Away I guess and that will be swapped due to their stadium work.

Notts County away is always decent and local or Mansfield as we've only been there once in decades (2003 I think) so would be alright as local. Will probably get an awful Away day like Luton or Crawley or something though.
Whoever we get first away game i will be going that instead of going Leeds as the league is more important. Playing Leeds will probably affect how many we take to the first away game though.

Would like to get one of our long trips out of the way first day of the season. Preferably Accrington, Morecambe or Carlisle. If not then one of the relegated teams. They tend to start the season slowly. A good start is a must. Don't want to play catch up early on.

Winning first game of season at Plymouth last season didn't do you much good.

I'm in Holland so won't be able to make it.

Preferably away, somewhere shit and easily winnable - last year I hit the jackpot with Newport away.

I want us to be given an extra month before we start our season to prepare our squad.

Missed fixtures to be made up of Tuesday night home games against teams from the furthest extremities of the country.

Winning first game of season at Plymouth last season didn't do you much good.

The previous season we went 5 games without a win and only 1 win in the first 7 games. A poor start which we never quite recovered from finishing a very poor 11th. The general consensus from the fans was that a play off spot would be a realistic goal for 16/17. One which we achieved finishing a clear 4th. This season should see further improvements and decent crack at the auto spots but we need that good start to give us some momentum. Playing catch up isn't something we seem to manage very well.

Well we got be away on the opening day so you can start with your annual 3 points at home to vale.

Vale weren't so bad last season. They seemed to be organised and well drilled. We won 1-0 I think but we're fortunate to take all the points.

Sod opening day, just want a home fixture on Boxing Day (not going to happen, we've had about 1 in the last 10 years)

...who do you want to face on August 5th? Personally, I'd like an away game close to me. Luton would be nice, as I'm expecting them to win the division and I think getting them out the way before they have time to gel might make the prospect of a point or 3 more realistic.
Just remembered I'm off home for my Aunties birthday on the opening day, so hoping for a home game instead. Luton second, please.

Away at Wycombe for us.

September is fun with games with Mansfield, County and Grimsby.

Crawley Away first, hopefully keep our 14 year unbeaten opening day run going!

Crewe at Vale Park in August, Meadow Lane on New Years Day and finish at Cambridge (Promotion hopefully!)

Not bad! Il take them.

First 3 away games are Swindon, Cheltenham and Forest Green which will be fun.

Home to Yeovil on opening day and Barnet (A) on the following weekend.

Swindon (A) on Boxing Day which will be quite tasty and could well have over 10,000 in attendance.

FGR (H) on the last day, which was our last home non league game.

Morecambe, Exeter (A) on Tuesday nights. Carlisle travel here on a Tuesday night.

Oh shit they're already out?! Fair play, thought they would tease us until like midday.

Chesterfield away on the opening day....fuuuuuck, can't make it. That'll be a big day out for us. Stevenage away on August 19th will by my first game then. Nice early localish fixture. Lincoln at home in September, so Cowleys will still be there probably (unless it all goes tits up for Gareth Southgate and they get the call) meaning they should sell out. Mansfield at home on Boxing Day is a good one, too.

Swindon at home to kick things off, not too bad.

Forest Green 2 days before Christmas is a bit crap, Accrington at home on Boxing Day (would've much preferred it away).

Newport at home last game :dk:

Away to Crewe which is a shame as in Holland that week. Doh.

May as well get the least inspiring game out the way first at home to forest green after that. Accrington away the week after makes up for it.

Shame to get Grimsby away Boxing Day, with the annual piss up in Nottingham in March, and a possible promotion party at Chesterfield with only 3 games to go at the end of the season

Lovely to have only a handful of Tuesday night games. In our first season in the NL, we only had 12 home league games on a Saturday.

Away at FGR on a Tuesday night, although Cheltenham have to travel up here on a Tuesday night.

Also got Mansfield, County, Grimsby and Chesterfield on successive Saturday's!

Happy that we're home on First Day, Last Day and Boxing Day (to Swindon, Accrington and Newport respectively) and also home to Morecambe, the day after my birthday which will be nice, always a good atmosphere when Morecambe come to town.

Not sure how to feel about the fact we'll be party to Jabo's home debut at Cambridge.

Think travelling to FGR just before Christmas could be a nice trip out for some.

Only three Tuesday home games. I quite like an evening fixture but that will suit my friends who come up from West Cumbria and can't make Tuesday games.

Also away to Luton on a Tuesday. I think every season we've been here, one of our games against Luton has been on a Tuesday. They were up at Brunton last season to witness our only home goalless draw in the last three seasons while last season we were down there for that 4-3 thriller on a Tuesday.
