What kind of fun goes off on these New Inn fun bus trips? I'd imagine playing Monopoly on a moving bus is abit of a pain so I can't imagine what happens.

Think we've been on a few decent ones from the New Inn.

Remember that time Jay nicked several traffic cones from the service station, then a bush outside a bar in Ashby coming back from when we played Tamworth? haha

My wishes were granted. First visit to St James Park. Disappointed that I'll miss out on seeing the famous terrace and it'll probably be a bit of a crush in the away seats. Looking forward to sunny Exeter welcome as we queue up on the M5.

Very likely.

General reaction at our end is underwhelmed.

My ideal would be a double header after an opening weekend at somewhere like Newport or Exeter, even Forest Green, Yeovil or Cheltenham, combined with some birding, cider and photography on the Somerset Levels. Look at them lining us up for Carlisle, Accrington or Morecambe away when the fixtures come out next week.

Is it likely to be Weds rather than Tues, with your uppity neighbours at home to Argyle?
Looking forward even more to warm Brizzle welcome from Aber gas and friends. Pity Weston will be packed, I'll probably stop in the Levels or the Mendips. Looking for a cheap cosy billet with access to decent ale near Gloucester Road and struggling at the moment. May have to opt for the Wellington or head further out.

Travel lodge in town and a leisurely walk through the sights and sounds of Stokes Croft is the ticket.

Andy, dunna exaggerate mate. Bloody hell. We're all as sound as each other on the bus. We have a beer or ten and have a laugh. We all disagree at the best of times. Come on the bus and I guarantee you not a single person says anything nasty to you or your mate whilst I'm there - fact. I know them all extremely well.
Sorry Dan I can't go on there as there's people I hate that go on the bus. I don't mind you and Charlie Holland it's people like gemma sheratt and Matt cauchi that I don't like.

Gemma's having a baby in August and Matt wasn't on there once last season. You'll be fine.

I go chesterfield away every season and we lose there.
I know mate. My best pal is a Vale fan and your record is absolutely dire against us (the 5-0 tonking a few years ago aside) which is good ammo for me

Its an odd one, Chesterfield have had a couple of real dire seasons in the past decade or so (Last season and one in the mid 00's) yet still beat us! 3-0 in the one in the mid 00's when Ward scored a couple.

Went Saltergate about 5 times and we lost each time without scoring so the 5-0 was pretty nuts to witness after all that! Probably one of our best away performances in the league in a while, but yeah we've had some real shitters especially the 3-0 a couple of years back.

And they're off..

Both our games with Notts County moved to 1pm KO's. Not sure where they get the times from, 12.15 at our gaff last season for all the games they decided to move. Would not surprise me at all if Chesterfield was an 11am KO.

Better than last season.

1pm kick off against County and Chesterfield is to be expected home and away.

Well the 1PM Kick off at Meadow Lane did stop all the trouble

Was out for 9 then spent the rest of the day out afterward, didn't really change anything.

Never any bother anyway, thankfully.

There was a fair bit last season tbf. We were in the Pit and Pendulam and then about 20 cop cars came flying past and into next door. This after they tried to get everyone who walked near the train station onto trains out of Nottingham. We got stopped in Broadmarsh and then got followed for the next 2 hours until they realised the only thing we wanted to violently assult was our livers.

Aye, we went somewhere nearish the ground for an hour and popped upto Jerusalem and around there, it's a shame that there's always a small amount who think it's big to cause bother and ruin it for 99% of the decent folk

Never understand the trouble at County. I just see it as a decent drinking day with the football usually spoiling the game inbetween...

Absolutely.

The fact we never lose there seems to be a big bonus also

That 5 nil win where Richards got a hatrick and Craig Davies scored is probably the reason why you ended up signing them.

Craig Davies is the 2nd best striker I've seen in a blue shirt, absolutely amazing. The amount of games we won 1-0 because he pulled something special out the bag was crazy. Only Jack Lester is ahead of him in my book

One of Jacks best traits whilst here was finding a defenders trailing leg inside the box and chucking himself over it, we used to get a crazy amount of pens while he was playing.
Brilliant player though, absolute legend here.

You've also described Akinde there.

Lester always used to score against us. The only good memory I can recall of him from a Lincoln point of view was missing a late penalty at 2-1 at SB and ballooning it over the bar at the Stacey West end.

To think John Schofield turned down the chance to sign him because we were signing Mark Stallard and Jamie Forrester. Don't get me wrong, they both did really well for us in 2006/07 and scored about 50 between them, but you didn't turn down Jack Lester at that time.

Yeah but I actually think Lester's were even dodgier than Akinde's.
I won't bore you with loads but just just show you these two, first one skip to 2:30 in v Northampton:

And this one v West Brom skip to 3:05 is the worst of the lot, although I was loving it at the time as this made it 4-0 before half time:
