Definitely not Lincoln for the first home game, as there's probably little in the world more likely to get the season off to a sour note and turn away the fair-weather fans who go to the first home game than an encounter with Rhead and the Cowleys. I'd be OK with the FL giving them a bye into the playoffs in return for nobody having to play them for the rest of the season.

Just get that fella to write another letter to the FL, that ought to do it.

I generally want an away game, but one which at any other time in the season would have a pretty low appeal as it being first up makes it interesting.

This has pretty much always been covered off by FGR but I really don't want to go there again this season, so I reckon that narrows it down to Cheltenham, Crawley, Mansfield or Yeovil.

Home, to maximise use of season ticket before I'm on my travels for 6 weeks at the end of August. There's a few I'd prefer to come to the Abbey whilst I'm away, including Morecambe and Stevenage. Carlisle or Bury would be a good opener.

Home game would be nice as been away for 3 of the 4 opening days.

Not too fussed who we play but we are unbeaten on the opening day in 14 years now so would like to keep that run going!

As long as we dont get swindon that will do me as thats a guaranteed thumping everytime.

There was a fella on the CUFC forum that was going crackers after our game at your place. Went into great detail about how he was writing to the FA/FL/Refs to tell them how we were dirty cheating chancers (like they didn't already know ). It was a very entertaining read.

I’m away 1st and 3rd weekends in August, so would prefer away games for both at grounds where been once and no urge to repeat that experience. Stevenage away would do for one of them.

if I'm back in the UK for any point next season it's likely to be Jan / Feb, so hoping Cheltenham and Carlisle away are around that time, as always enjoy the day out to those. Also hoping Vale away is that time as flew back this year for a couple of weeks and was all geared up to go and it was cancelled due to the weather !!. In terms of first game, I would like it to be away so as to not put too much pressure on the new manager, as the expectancy will be high at the first home game. Maybe Cambridge away as that might be a good yardstick as think they are dark horses this time out
