Cry me a river! Your making it out like your hard done by, rather than looking at the players have missed out on look at the squad warne has, Bradley, gayle, Collins, hourihane, Mendez, Wilson etc the list is endless of good quality players that all will be on a pretty penny.

You was moaning about warne earlier In The season, luckily the board didn’t think like you and have stuck by him.

KTF.

Amazing. “We’ve only spent 300k on one player” hahaha.

I wasn't saying we were hard done by, either, ultimately just pointing out that we absolutely haven't 'spent our way to the title' - last season we were one of three clubs in the League that didn't spend any money on incoming transfers and we raised the 3rd most from outgoing transfers in the league. This season we paid a fee upfront for one player, Blackett Taylor.

Ironically, you've named six players and really hit on only one, maybe two, good player(s) in Mendez-Laing. Bradley has been largely poor for us. Hourihane, too, certainly this season and has since lost his place. Collins hasn't scored since January. Gayle played 3.5 games before getting injured. Wilson is decent, but inconsistent.

Hourihane, Gayle, Collins & Hourihane will also (likely) be released at the end of this season - amongst plenty others.

Warne has potentially achieved what he should've done. However, as I mentioned above, look at how the squad has been assembled. He banked on experienced Championship professionals on the downward trajectory of their career to have enough in the tank to perform at this level. I assume some of the approach could've been due to the EFL restrictions we were under but doesn't change the fact we have a significant rebuild ahead of us - promoted or not.

I only want birmingham to come down as would be a class away day for mansfield, nothing against the club which others seem to have.
Have you never played them?

We always had trouble with Birmingham, and their hooligan stewards in particular. Also, special mention for Trevor Francis blaming their poor results at Edgeley Park on the length of the grass

Yeah but not recently.

We did have a friendly called off on police advice due to potential trouble though, so could he a sign!

The one thing I've enjoyed about being in the lower league's is the lack of the hooligan element. As we go up, there's a danger of that creeping back in with the 'bigger city' clubs....

For 15yrs we've been able to have a chat and a pint or two with the away fans..it's been great, we're all basically the same. That's one of the reasons I'm personally a bit sceptical....there's no need for it in this day & age.

We used to have a 'Crew' called the Front Line that have more or less been disbanded because of where we were...nowadays we're all about the footie - lets hope it stays that way.

You'll be fine with us, obviously we aren't a big city club though lol.
Chatted with a few Oxford fans in the bar after the game, good atmosphere just as it should be.
Only one club we won't have in the bar, should that happen next week..

There's quite a few Clubs that always identify to me as 'lower league'...Exeter and ourselves being some of many.
I've followed Wxm for 50yrs, and there are always the perenial lower league clubs - aka yourselves, us, Stockport, etc...

We ALL have the ability/resourses to be up a bit higher...but when we get there, usually come down again after a year or two. It all boils down to financing.

We're obv in the spotlight now - but there are others who have also quietly splashed the cash - & at the end of the day, that's usually what it's all about - money!

It doesn't always guarantee success though....(hello Chelsea!)

Happy to have Huddersfield on a personal level, would rather Plymouth stay up even if Birmingham isn't anything too new for us (a few cup matches in recent years) either.

The final side coming up could be alreet (Big Joe's Donny or Crewe) or just a bag of dicks (MK/Crawley)

What’s wrong with Crawley? They seem very “meh” to me, but putting them on a level with the Franchise seems harsh.

Also - a word on Barnsley, what a cracking away day. Great people, great pubs (prices starting with a 3!), good ground location, perfect away day really. 10/10 would go back.

Dunno what other people think but I've never seen Huddersfield as a Championship side really, they're historically a L1 side. They've done really well over the last decade with a couple of PL seasons in there but their finishes in the Championship are mainly in and around the bottom 6 or 7 aside from their two anomaly PO seasons.
Spent 80/116 in the top two tiers, all time average attendance puts us 35/92 , 19/92 for trophies won so got to pull you up there, very similar in size to Preston,Burnley, Blackburn ie mid/lower champ level.

It’s going to be an interesting summer that’s for sure! We’ve got a big rebuild needed, but we have the backing to hopefully try compete at the top end. Unfortunately, I don’t think much of us trust the DoF in charge! Certainly a tough season awaits!
As much as I want Birmingham to go down, I think they’ll spend big, so a part of me hopes Plymouth come down. Great away day too!

One of
MK
Crawley
Crewe
Doncaster

Rotherham, huddersfield, barnsley, mansfield, lincoln with the possibility of sheff weds (unlikely, probably birmingham) and doncaster could be fun.

Just one of the hobby clubs that were bankrolled up, crap place, crap away day and just a very meh feel about them as a club.

That said, the fact they're still knocking around in the league is pretty impressive in itself, and I had them down as nailed on as relegated with the crypto bros running things so they've made me look daft there this season.

Short of novelty value if you've not crossed paths with them, there's not much else to recommend. Think we've been in the same league as them about 12 or 13 times now, so that ship has long sailed.

But yeah, they're not MK, didn't mean to imply they stand as equally in that regard.

C'mon Argyle, do the right thing. You know you want to experience some real competition next season. Can't be fun getting demolished every week by clubs who don't even know where Plymouth is on the map. You know you're nothing without us.

I think Birmingham will beat Norwich next week at St Andrews and Plymouth will come down after failing to beat Hull.

I don't want that to happen so hopefully I'm just slowly introducing myself to this forum section with my usual crap predictions so you can see what you're all going to be in store for.

Got mates who live in weston which i suppose makes bristol others and plymouth (if they come down) liveable.

Never been to exeter for the football, though ironically 3 times to watch the rugby, nice place.
