Conor Hourihane even though since around the end of October he's been a passenger in nearly every game. Would undoubtedly be Sam Winnall if his hamstring wasn't made of biscuits and he'd started a game since November.

Chris Dagnall. But in truth, you'd be pushed to find anyone form our side thats been any good.

Dele Alli.

Carl Baker and Will Grigg deserve mentions also.

Would have been Matt Done. Or maybe Conrad Logan.

Of those still here, probably Peter Vincenti. Stephen Dawson has done well, too.

Oh, and Pinxton is probably nearer to Field Mill than Nottingham or Chesterfield - but a transfer to the Stags would class as "cruel and unusual punishment", particularly for a damn good player like Flint.

Ben Garratt is a definite choice purely because the man has saved us from dropping so many points at times this season.

Outfield wise there's so much choice but Alan Tate gets my vote purely because this defence actually looks competent for the first time in two years thanks largely to his influence. Nicky Ajose for being that deadly striker, Jamie Ness for being that creative midfielder who plays the killer ball and Anthony Grant for his 110% effort and commitment to the cause every game aren't far behind though! Least there's competition for this unlike last year!

probably cos I've just woken up but read Vincent Pericard inseatd of Peter Vincenti, was very confused.

ours would probably be Jamie Murphy. All have been inconsistent this season but when he's on form (having a decent striker is certainly helping him), he will win us games single-handedly. Swindon at home being the prime example.

Can I throw in a controversial wildcard who I would put in 3rd place behind Grant and Garratt but ahead of Ness, Ajose and Tate?

Harry Davis.

I'm a big fan. I think he's as important as Tate. Our defensive improvement has come about more since he came back into the side than Tate arriving. I've always said it, whilst other fans bleat on about who his Dad is, I think he'll have a good Championship career soon enough. He's also well 'ard. Playing on despite losing a tooth, played on Saturday despite being up all night being sick. Never gets the credit he's due because of who his Dad is and I don't think fans have got over the start to his career where Dario was playing him no matter what, but he is our best defender.

Dumbuya for me, he's brilliant. Maybe injured too much for this though.

As important as Tate and potentially a £500K or more centre half. Think last season he was let down in a defence with Dugdale and Mellor who are far from League One standard. Makes far less mistakes than he used to that's a given and has been superb since coming back into the side after a long time out injured. Think Tate has improved him too as well as George Ray, who now looks competent and fit for purpose compared to six months ago!

Tom Bradshaw - Excellent when not injured.
R O'D - not missed a game I just wish he would claim the ball more.
Anthony Forde - Brings excellent balance and ball retention.
Ben Purkiss - STALLION.

Flint, Smith and Freeman all deserve a mention, but Flint probably the standout, most consistent performer for me, and a huge improvement on last season.

The 'most improved' would undoubtedly be Flinty!

Mass Luongo. Consistently excellent (bar him giving Oldham a goal last week).

Honourable mentions to nobody, as its a PLAYER of the season thread, not some, not many, but one.

Not sure what you mean, Mansfield are a fantastic club! (Still wouldn't let them take Aden though)
