So looks like Darragh MacAnthony & Devon Lad have already claimed the top 2 places in league 1 for their clubs, the question is who will go up with them? Good to sort it out nice and early.

Are you Masi the misquoter? I never said we'd come 2nd. I said we'd come top 6 but 2nd is likely.

And having just read what Darragh has said he's also not claimed a top 2 place, he said he's confident of promotion, which can be anywhere in the top 6.

Fuck me, the manure riddled fields of the Cotswold are having an effect on your brain from what can only be described as a shit inhailing overdose.

Nope you can also see the Isle of Man, Lake District, Welsh hills and the peak district from Winter Hill on a clear day
Thankfully you cannot see Yorkshire from any part of the moors surrounding Bolton

Ps your not the brightest for comedy......leave that to your team next season

What do you do, stand on the moors around Bolton wishing you were anywhere but....Bolton

All those nice areas you can see, yet you're stuck in bloody Bolton. It's like looking out of the window from a prison cell lol

Another Masi myth, You can see the Dales from Winterhill.

Time and again you're* proven to be fucking wrong, better to let people think you're an idiot than to open your mouth and confirm it.

Don’t you feel that trying to educate Masi is like throwing paint at an oiled wall? You have the illusion it will stick but the ingrained knowledge it won’t :dk:

He's like that dumb dog you have, you still throw him the ball more in hope than expectation that he brings it you back.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
I always think it is impossible to say, depends mostly on how many of your players can adapt to a higher level, that you make the correct 2-3 additions and most of all you hit the ground running early and don’t flog that promotion confidence within the first few games by going on a winless run.

Remember Carlisle side winning this league at a stroll back in 1995, finished a lot of points ahead of the rest yet went back down the following season while chesterfield who went up via play offs had the best finish of the 3 promoted sides in the higher league.

But the start was dreadful, lost opening game, winless for about 6-7 games momentum all gone and playing catch-up rest of season.

The sides have players in form it’s about keeping their confidence going to push on

Oh and I think having a very good centre back is the single most important thing when going up, we gave away derek mountfield the first time promoted, an enormous mistake, played better sides and leaked goals for fun always trying to find that plug gap. The second time up our defenders just simply didn’t step up that level and we leaked goals.

The time we went up and pushed on we had Kevin Gray who was best defender in l2 in 2006 and he dominated most games in l1, meant even with losing our manager and our best player we still pushed on.

I feel a lack of a main centre back can be more damaging than other positions when going up a league

I think Port Vale will do the best of the clubs promoted.

I don't think any of them will be anywhere near the playoffs.

I reckon Vale mid table, Bristol Rovers about 16th, Exeter flirt with relegation but survive and FGR to really struggle and come straight back down

That's roughly how I see it, although I think Bristol R might be higher than Vale, and the other two might both survive - Fleetwood, Morecambe, Cheltenham, Burton and maybe Shrewsbury could struggle and there's always the possibility of one of the "bigger" clubs having a random 'mare (Oxford/Charlton/Portsmouth).

Rumours have it Port Vale took one look at the League One forum and applied to rescind their promotion.

One does not form an opinion on the quality of any league whether it's the Championship or the dog and duck sunday league on those handful of games that make up the play offs. Many a play off game ends up being a boring one for the neutrals and that's understandable when there's so much at stake that players opt for the safety first approach as nobody wants to go down in history for all the wrong reasons.

Likewise with those games on the final day of the season. I did watch a good 70 mins of the Exeter Vale game before switching over to the Rovers game and tbh I thought Exeter looked no better than a mid table side on the day. But that don't mean L2 is shit or that Exeter are odds on favs for the drop next season now does it.
But it does indeed mean that the Gas are pretty much a low rent Barca ( Guardiola or Rijkaard, not fucking Koeman mind ) .. anyway we’ll fucking destroy league one next season.
