A few weeks ago Cheltenham were strong title favourites, but since then they have started to struggle and have lost their inspirational captain to long term injury. They play beautiful passing football but one wonders how they will cope now that the pitches are getting heavy.
FGR (with three successive wins) are breathing down their necks and Grimsby are thereabout to take advantage if either Gloucestershire team falters.
At this moment it seems assured that the title will be between these three teams. That means two will be in the play-off plus two others. It is these 'two others' who are more difficult to predict: Eastleigh and Wrexham perhaps?
Cheltenham have won eight and drawn two of their last ten league games. That's them starting to struggle, is it?

Read their match reports.
Besides I also said they have lost their on-field leader which could have a massive impact on their future performances.

At the same time, they've gained an out-and-out goalscorer, which could have a massive impact on their future performances.

True but up until recently Cheltenham had a fairly settled team. My points stands that there is disruption and the new guy may or may not gel.

I think Eastleigh will almost certainly make the playoffs again. I'd go as far as saying they're in with a shot at the title. Strange time to be declaring Wrexham as favourites for the final spot too. I have a sneaky feeling Tranmere are gonna get it, even if Brabin doesn't get sacked. Dover, Macclesfield and Woking all look like better teams than Wrexham at the moment.

Possibly, but you could use the same argument about FGR adding Brett "are the TV cameras here?" Williams.

I'm still not confident, but I think a few more wins will guarantee a play off spot which is decent! Personally I think Grimsby have too much, Cheltenham still have everything going for them, drawing away is a good result.

Just to clarify, are you playing Tuesday and Wednesday this week? (Cheltenham)
We are playing Kiddy Tuesday and the kids (who did very well yesterday) will have the replay against Oxford City Wednesday. All above board and confirmed by the National League etc.
Pitch should be good for Tuesday, hardly any rain here at present and not much forecast.
Good to get the game on I think.

Battle of the form teams next weekend. Almost got to feel for the Wrexham fans when their team are at home to a team without a win in ten but still won't feel confident.
I think both teams could fall in a barrel of boobs at the mo and come out sucking their thumbs!!!
I see you guys have your own battle of the genuine form teams at Woking next week.

We seem to have a real ability for playing shit but still somehow winning. Never been convinced we can go all the way and we haven't won many against promotion rivals this season but we keep on grinding out results against teams we should beat, which is a big part of what wins you leagues.

Somehow I still think the best manager will win out, though Cheltenham need to find a good replacement for Downes to get over the line.

If history is anything to go by then it won't be a battle our form against Woking has been abysmal at best we might as well stay at home and keep warm. However the last few weeks have proved we now have a manager who knows how to win away so there is a glimmer of hope there. Having to give a miss due to a friends birthday but my gut instinct tells me that i won't be missing much. Though i did say that before the Gateshead game.

He's not said at which club he's going to buy it for yet!! Could be for FGR, then who'd be laughing!!!
What a horrible thought. I would rather perform cunnilingus on Anne Widdecombe than watch FGR twenty-three times a season.

Just had a Cheltenham fan on our forum boasting the "The League title will soon be theirs"

In similar words to Kevin Keegan's infamous rant..."I'd love it, just love it, if we beat them to the title."

Setting himself up for a fall there is the lad!

I can probably guess who it is on the Fishy, CTFC's biggest WUM. No-one I know genuinely believes the League is won.

I won't believe it until it's mathematically confirmed.

After this weekend would everyone agree that it's a three horse race even at this stage?

I'd definitely say Dover and down are out of it. Eastleigh need to win their games in hand but I think they're still in it until they drop a few more points. Those games in hand can be dangerous if they can get some momentum going.

Well I'm sure they'll be spurred on by the vision that's hanging tantalisingly in front of them.

I'd agree. Dover completely bottled it, should never lose a game with 5 minutes left. Will be tight, as I can see Grimsby catching both us and cheltenham up.

We've just got to keep winning our games and hope that yourselves and Cheltenham slip up. We're on a great run of form at the minute with 25 points from the last 27 I think, but it's bloody annoying that Cheltenham are in a similar rich vein of form too. We won very comfortably on Saturday and we didn't even get out of second gear really. We definitely have the best squad that we have had whilst down here and Padraig Amond is on fire at the minute. It's still out of our hands at the minute and we just need to keep the pressure up as it could all change one way or the other within a game or two.

Our last 6 away games (FGR, Woking, Macc, Cheltenham, Dover and Tranmere) are not the best 6 teams you'd want in the run-in but if we are going to overhaul Cheltenham then we need to be winning most, if not all. We're already being shown live at FGR and I'm sure the Cheltenham game will be nailed on for live coverage it we're still up there.

You have dropped too many points against Bottom 6 six sides. Am I right in thinking its 2 draws with Torquay, a draw with Kiddy and a Draw at home to Guiseley. Big mistakes.
