Everton have more league titles than Chelsea, Spurs Man City and little Villa....... :bg:

In fact only Man United Arsenal and Pitypool have won the biggest trophy in English football more times.

Villa are like Wolves used to be big club hundreds of years ago...........i hope the club dies a slow death.
Johnnytodd has admitted that Liverpool are better than Everton in at least one aspect of football. Call the press!

Of course not. You think Bolton had it bad? Watch this space.

When your sugar daddy pulls the plug, always swim to safety. No investment and what's more frightening is that there's no prospect of a new investor. Who's gonna come in and wipe this debt off?

All of our debt is to that American bastard though, no one else.

The way the club have diced with death over the last 5 seasons, Lerner has finally got what he wanted. The thread question is a question that nobody will know i guess, the way the club sit it doesnt look pretty on the eye, the way the players are playing again it doesnt look pretty. I cant see Villa bouncing back for a few years, a complete rebuild will be in progress over the next 3 years.

There isnt anybody in the current first team you would look at, and think i'll buy him! - so even if some mug did come in and buy a player or 3 its not gonna be much pulled in into the managers budget (if he even see's one that is) can see alot of youth being given a go next season, the academy has always been in a good place, and produced some decent youngsters, but i think it will be too much pressure throwing them straight in and expecting them to do a job.

Its been a painful season as a Villa fan, shite football, owners that dont care, but it hasnt stopped us having the usuel great crack away on the road. I'm looking forward to a few new grounds next season, thats the only positive i can take from the drop. UTV!

Villa bought a busload of players just last summer, I hope for the club's sake they were able to get wage-cut or termination clauses in the contracts in the event of relegation. The same goes for the Toon. They'd be crippled - or worse - in the Championship with their current wage bills.

Hard to see how Villa would bounce back immediately, either. There are better teams in the Championship. But ever? Ever is a long time.

Newcastle's players definitely don't have any relegation clauses in their contracts!

30 years back, we were owned by the Bhattis, who never invested in the team, left a shit-tip for a ground, a debt for one of the stands and on the cusp of bankruptcy.

My point being is that, some wealthy fellow out there who loves the club enough to endlessly invest is out there.

Yes, there are very bad times ahead, but I promise you, Aston Vile will rise again.

But for now, I'm gonna enjoy the crash and burn.

Every one of our players has a relegation wage drop in their contract. We negotiated them all in the summer.

All right, that's good if true. Should also massively help in offloading the flops. Which of your players would you like to have in the Championship? The only ones that have looked decent to me have been Richards, Amavi, Gil and maybe Gestede and Bacuna.

They can all fuck off except Amavi, Gestede, Ayew and Adama tbh. They're the only players I'd be even slightly upset to lose.

Ofcourse they'll get back in the Prem-they're one of the biggest clubs in the country.
Terrific ground, huge fanbase...they just need to sort the team out,and maybe the boardroom.
Actually it might be an idea to merge with Blues and have just one club representing Brum and calling that new club Birmingham City.
Next season there won't be any top-flight footy in town...you'll have to pop over to Albion if you wanna see that so a merger might be the answer.

With the recent happenings in EPL, I strongly believe there is absolutely nothing that is impossible. All they need to is to work on their mistake, management style and motivations given to player. Learn from Leicester city coach

But does it,Sammy son? Does it?
Can it truly bring happiness or is it the root of all evil?

Sure it will definitely bring happiness. If you won't mind let me refresh your emory. Wayback to the year 2004, before then the blues were no where to be found on the EPL table. But when the billionaire came, he spent quite a large sum of money to make chelsea rejuvenated. Money indeed makes the difference. Management makes the difference shows off

Neutral

This cracks me up. There seems to be a widely held misconception that Chelsea were nothing before the man of many oblasts came rocking on up. The 7 consecutive top six finishes previously (and my word there were some players in those sides!) seem to have been conveniently wiped from memory.

It would have to be a merger with Lichfield City, Tamworth, Stafford Rangers and Sutton Coldfield Town. The heart and soul of Aston Villa is deep embedded in Staffordshire and Worcestershire.

Is that really true though...or just one of those fanciful myths.

The latter. City is about 50/50, North Birmingham is Villa dominated, South is more blues in my experience.
That's what I would have thought.
Must be quite a few Albion in NW Brum (Handsworth, etc) aswell though, surely, even though they're not technically in the city.

Absolutely, the closer to West Brom you get, obviously the more Baggies fans you'll find.

As if Collymore actually said any of that. A blatant example of ghost-writer editorialising if ever I've seen it.

I was just jesting. Villa do draw a lot of their support from Staffordshire, north Birmingham is a Villa stronghold. Ours is largely concentrated around south Birmingham and Solihull.
