What with the aeroplane Moyes out stunt out and this, some Man U fans are really very, very sad people who will go the extra mile to prove it. Some sad c*** actually used up time and money to make that banner. What a life they must lead.

How can a poster made by someone you don't know work you up this much?

Let them do whatever the hell they want, it's a part of the game.

Edit: To a certain extent naturally, before Dessie comes in and says I'm mocking muslims or something.

All sets of fans do petty shit like this, it's hardly exclusive to United fans.

Although that banner was probably provided by United fans.

The Chelsea fans came out with hundreds of cringey ones during the Rafa era, to give another example.

I can't fathom why you'd even entertain the idea of going to a match with a bloody banner to make your point, if you even have one, in the first place. Just start up a chant or something. At least then you can pretend it was improvised ;)

If the blokes that made that banner could see your resonse to it they'd laugh like everyone else has.

I'll put it down to confusion because it's the internet but I really don''t know how you think it's working me up. IanH was getting worked up in the Van Gall thread, that was someone getting worked up. I was laughing at how sad they are for making the banner..

It seems you have also mis understood Slater, but I agree with you that they'd probably laugh at someone who does actually get revved up about it, which says more about them than anyone else :D (smiley inserted for clarification)

I remember when Chesterfield hung 'Thanks for the 6 points' banner last season over a bridge when we came to town. Every club make daft banners, I thought the effort by the Mancs, and the Liverpool one about Moyes were quite funny actually.

I sort of agree with this. Banter posts that are not direct insults are a part of football, but they have to be witty and original to be worth it, I'd say.

Just read this on the BBC.
"Well well well what have utd fans got to say now!! They claimed liverpool only did so well last season as they had no europe. Well now utd have nothing at all but the league. What will be there excuse if they don't finish second. Especially after spending about 3 times as much this season (£146M +falcao) than liverpool spent last season (49M). Can't wait for excuses if you don't get top 4 even!!"

Brilliant!

If it wasn't for Real Madrid bound De Gea, Manure would be fighting relegation this term...

Really? They can't score tonnes, have a changing midfield and no defense and their keeper is their player of the season. He's won them at least a dozen points thus far.

The lack of which would put them midtable. And, like I was saying with people calling us a one man team with Suarez last season, you can't take the goals he scored and remove them from the equation and think it's an accurate reflection as it ignores the contribution from whoever would have played instead, even if they weren't as good. The same applies to De Gea.

Be specific mate. Where, when and how has he won them at least a dozen points this season? TIA for what I assume will be a swift, detailed, fact filled response.

Everton at home, stoppage time save, 2 points gained. Liverpool at home, a combination of Sterling's poor finishing in his first game in a new role and brilliance from De Gea, 3 pts. Arsenal away, many good stops there helping ensure 3 pts. Important save at Villa helping towards a pt. Helping towards 3 pts at QPR from two Charlie Austin shots in the first half at 0 - 0. West Ham away, three important saves helping rescue a pt. Important saves away at Newcastle as well when the game was close.

That's helping towards 13 points without calculating the Newcastle game, as Krull until the error at the end was equal to De Gea that match.

I'm starting to get the feeling that I will owe Shane a fiver.

Hate the saying 'without this player they would have this many points' - as if they'd be playing with 10 men.

How do people know Lindegaard wouldn't make some of the saves De Gea has?
