Cuntinho? How the mighty have fallen :D Hope he didn't catch another (virtual) injury ;)

The Netherlands were destroyed yesterday at the end (when they were one man less) by France. But because Sweden lost against Bulgaria they still can qualify. I bloody hope not!!!!

So Arjen Robben, when interviewed after the match by German TV, wasn't so unhappy, and meant that he had checked off the France match already and even had a little smile on his face. That's what an 0-4 against a way better team is doing to you? Let you smiling or is it already Gallows humour because you never had a real chance in this match?
Been saying this for a while mate but Holland is going to have a Belgium decade: a big football nation not having the necessary players to qualify for a major tournament. I don't think you should worry too much about them qualifying. If they couldn't get to Euro 2016, they won't get to Russia.

We are 2 points behind Chile with 3 matches left.

Good for you man, good for you.

You still suck and won't make it but good for you.

And if we do? ;)

Right now I'd say we're one of the best 5 teams in South America, but our start will cost us.

Brazil are in, I think Colombia are also there. Just 2 points will be enough. Argentina will qualify, but they aren't a guarantee as they have 2 tough games at the end (Peru home and Ecuador away)

Uruguay have Bolivia at home, so that will be the difference really. With just 1 point in the next 2 games and the 3 against Bolivia then they're in.

Last spot is up for grabs, but I think Chile will miss out. One of Peru or Paraguay will make it, but I won't say which until Thursday.

Uruguay will be the only team who I am sure will go out in the group stages.

Ireland draw with Georgia, which is about as big a realistic gift as we could hope for. Win tonight and we are in with a shout!

Group D is now largely dependent on the result of Ireland - Serbia. If Serbia win they're through, if Ireland win then it'll be either Ireland and Wales or Wales and Serbia if Wales beat Ireland and Serbia beat Austria.

If Ireland play like they did tonight, then Serbia will beat them.

I think it'll finish as it currently is. Wales' amount of draws will cost thrn ultimately

you're supporting an english club, Salty. So force yourself to keep the fingers crossed for an England win over Slovakia. But knowing the Scots they will lose against Malta then ;)

Wow. Spain vs Italy 3-0. Didn't expect this result. I thought this would be the most typical draw of this matchday.

Spain were excellent tonight, totally outclassed a poor Italy.

Glad to see Woodburn getting the winner for Wales; Liverpool could have Coutinho's replacement already there, he has a big future ahead.

That's different mate, when I started following them, there was a lot of Scottish ties there that helped me connect with them, and I took it from there. :D

Who said this? Can't be a football expert unless he meant the Austrian women's football team :D. Austria was good in the 1930's where they had a so-called "Wonder-team" and in the 1950's they were decent. But since then they are mediocre except one win against Arch rival Germany at the World Cup 1978. They still get a hard-on about this until today

Wonder team that cheated to beat Peru in the olympics.

Really? Which Scottish players did they have in the 2004/05 season?

I don't know if you've noticed but I put Wonder team in quotes. But they had really some great players back then, namely Matthias Sindelar nicknamed "Der Papierne (The paper man)" because of his paper thin body and also called "the Mozart of Football". Unfortunately he had a very tragic death in the 30's. After the "Anschluss" (Annexation) to Germany the best Austrians played for "Großdeutschland" (Greater Germany) at the World Cup 1938 but this was a very bad decision. You can't mix two completely different football styles of Germany and Austria in such short time and think to win the tournament. (A bit like after 1990 when the East Germans had to be integrated in the West Germany team, didn't function well at the first (and second) tournament (1994/1998) after that)

I was joking, but Peru beat Austria in those Olympics fair and square. If we hadn't resigned from the tournament we probably would have gone on to win it.

France held by Luxembourg - gives Sweden and the Netherlands a sniff..

Cue the "No easy games in International football" cliché.

What makes international football so special in my opinion, and its even better in CONMEBOL where anyone can beat anyone at any time, where as this is a once in a lifetime result.
