Probably going to end 1-1 for a change. We should have enough about us to go and get 3 points especially with York playing tonight. We might bring 700 or so which I think is abit shite but considering we have had Sheff Wed and Notts Co already and we have Notts again next Tuesday people will choose the more local/appealing trips.

Any York fans on here? One of our coppers reckons you don't let away fans in that Burton Stone anymore, is this true?

We should be winning this if we have any aspirations this year, York will be tough opposition but we need to dig in and show what we've got.

2-1 to the Stags.

Both sides will think they ought to be winning this, so hopefully it will be an open, entertaining game. Not like usual. I'll go for 2-2 and our fans calling for Wilcox to be sacked all over the internet, again. A bit brave of me to predict that we score two goals I'll admit.

I can't tell you about the Burton Stone as I tend to avoid all those pubs along Bootham pre-match, it's too much hassle and there's loads of better pubs in York. I do seem to remember a load of York fans getting locked out against Bury last season because they were kettled inside the Bootham Tavern while the Bury massive were escorted past. You could do worse than the Minster Inn, just off Bootham.

Just noticed how soft Mansfield's start has been. Got to be a bit worried if you come out of this one with nowt, haven't you Staggies?

Not really. Think we've made a very average start. I don't expect anything better than midtable so it's about right. I'd like as many points on the board early on though so we don't have to worry about going down at all!!

Looks like we finally dumped 5-3-2 last night. Hopefully thats the end of that. If so I fancy us to win this. We're not a million miles away.

As richard says I don't expdct us to be anywhere better than midtable - though obviously I hope im proved wrong, so not sure that "we should be looking to win at places like york" is entirely valid.

Happy with another draw

Looking forward to this one. Absolutely top away day. I think we'll draw the game, 1-1 to be precise. Am I right in thinking this will be our last game at Bootham Crescent before York move to their new ground?

Apparently not according to a York fan on here. Something to do with the council.

Yep. Here's a BBC article. We've since been told that there will be a further delay to the stadium and it won't be ready until around May 2017, so we should be playing all our fixtures at BC until 2017/18. It's been a bit of a saga, if anyone has a few days to spare there's a 203 page long thread about it on our forum.

Where in the city is your new stadium going to be mate? I'm far too lazy to Google it.
Absolutely love York as a place and can fully understand them thinking that 'Mansfield's a shithole and that they'd like to go home'......though to be fair, they've probably never seen Ravensdale, Bull Farm, Oak Tree etcetera, so have missed the most aesthetically pleasing parts of our North-midland delight.

Two teams that will probably be fighting it out to make mid table this season, I'm not expecting a classic. I'm going for 1-1.

Not forgetting Bellamy and Ladybrook.

The council are k***bs, The rugby club chairman/owner/dictator is a bigger k**b, and altogether it's been very shoddy. We will have another full season at least after this one, so don't worry if you can't get over this year Stagfans

Bootham Crescent is a great traditional lower league ground. So from a selfish point of view I'm glad they're staying a bit longer. It's just a shame they couldn't redevelop it rather than moving out of town. Needs must I suppose.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to game. COYS.

Just not the room even if you take away other financial elements. The only way a new stadium was going to work was with the inclusion of a number of extra revenue elements. The chairman has made it quite clear the club just can't move forward with the present set up. You look at a club like Burton who have lower crowds than many of us yet make more from off field activities than they do on gate receipts. I love BC even though I know it's a bit if a shit hole with outdated toilets and facilities. It's got soul and when in the longhurst atmosphere. New all seater stadiums don't do it for me, too clinical and shiny and most of them just look the same other than slightly different size stands.

5 points from 4 games that include playing favourites oxford and beating county away... were doing well to say we want to come around mid table. Also if i were you i wouldnt look at how cheltenham started last year.... Good start bad end as always is the case in this league.

Nice to see the team playing hopeless long balls was the opposition!

Our defence was solid, Tafazolli and Pearce could be one of the best cb pairings in the league and collins is also good shame theres not room for him. Benning is quality Midfield dominated and played some good football. Green was immense, all-round good team play doing every side of the game. Excellent stuff today and we look like a promising side, much better than last year already.

York look like bottom half team and Oliver posed no threat at all, looks no different to when he was here.

After york basically cheated to get him sent off in the playoffs it was nice to see him come and fuck them over.

Very good

After York scored we played very well for the rest of the first half, Green was excellent and his second was a great finish just like the Green who tore the Conference apart.

Second half we were rubbish IMO, it was as if we didn't want to score and just hang onto the 2-1 score line. Fair enough it worked but if we were up against a team with a bit of quality up front we wouldn't have won today.

Delighted with the three points though! If we beat Wimbledon next week things will be looking really good with us surely being in the top 7. Happy with our start but plenty of room for improvement.

. No.

We're proper shite, we'll probably go down unless Wilcox get's sacked off. Hoofs to Olivier is our only tactic.

Yes, I can certainly see many parallels between Orient this year and Cheltenham last year. I'll whip the road atlas out and start plotting my way to Altringham, wherever the fuck that is.
