Medy Elito was shite. He was so far off the pace of the game and went missing more often than Lord Lucan. He was able to do lovely little one touch passes which moved us precisely nowhere and he was able to pass he ball 10 yards with both feet. That’s it.

I do however agree that Lambe appears to be a poor buy so far.

Yep, got it the first time. That's your own personal opinion which you're entitled to of course. Thing is I didn't say Elito's better than Lambe at all (though personally I think he is, or rather was, and that's before he started dabbling with that silly rap music or whatever the hell it is).

He hasn’t picked up any new skills since joining us.

And how many Barnet players have actually impressed so far this season? I suspect the answer is none of them, in which case it would be unfair to slate any one player, football's a team sport after all.

You're right, none of them have but Elito didn't even impress as a trialist in the pre-season matches and Still signing him up despite that just appears to be laziness on Still's part.

I see, fair enough then, but I'll be amazed if all/most of your club's new signings turn out to be poor ones. John Still ain't some rookie manager after all, in fact he's been at it for years now :dk:

Best: Ollie Banks.
Seemingly really suits the Tranmere environment, possible that a positive home support instead of the toxic one he received at Oldham is benefecial, or maybe the better facilities?

Worst: Paul Mullin
No idea how or why Swindon fans rated this guy, not even getting a look in because he does nothing on the training ground, likely to not even make the bench on Saturday.

Maybe he wasn't up to league one standard. I never hated banks because of his lack of a ability, I hated him because he was a powderpuff shithouse.

In hindsight, I shouldn’t have jumped on your comment and called him shite. He was very mediocre but he did have a couple of moments in him. I will say he has a very natural touch on him, he just should have delivered far more than he did and there were far too many games when he was totally ineffective.

It’s a shame because I think he could be a good player. I get what you see in him actually, but it’s his application which seems to be lacking. And defensively, his effort is poor frankly. And that doesn’t work in this division.

There, that’s a bit more balanced. :-)

Worst: Usually a long list by now. But we've been virtually unchanged so far this season, and everyone of the new signings are looking good, or showing promise. Makes a nice change.

Best : Joseph Mills, a left wing back, looks a cultured player, at 27 he knows his strengths and takes it all in his stride. Could be playing a league higher at least. Maybe just lacks a bit of motivation here. A pure joy to watch.

Born in Swindon. Played against him loads at under 14, 15, 16 level when he was at Stratton Juniors. I'm 29 so he was always playing 2 years above his age group. Had the nickname 'Fish'.

To early to be sure but Otis Khan at £100,000 is looking like a great bit of business. If we don’t get promoted I imagine he will be off for a lot more.

To be fair to Flitcroft it was clear in the summer he recruited well, he just needs to get them capable of winning games, drawing every week will not get a promotion.

Good to hear he's doing well for you, hope he can sustain it for the full season this time.

Is there any word your end as to whether we have a sell on? I certainly hope we do...

I work on the Groundwell Industrial site, the girl I work with has connections with him. I've worked in Swindon for 25 years, used to follow Swindon from 69-97ish. I'm practically a Swindonite myself. His older brother Matt was a very good player too. Played for Reading I believe. Fish you say. He could be taken for a Guppy with that Pony Tail he wears.

Best; Ollie Palmer, he is our only goal scorer so far and none of the others even look like scoring. Legge had him in his pocket versus Port Vale apparently but he has caused everyone else problems.

Worst; No bad players as such but Vincelot doesn't seem to have settled into our defence. That maybe a partnership problem though. As much as I think Connolly, his centre back partner, is a good player he does try to do too much. Always rushing out to breaking midfielders etc so he does take some getting used to.

Mills was genuinely fantastic for us in a loan spell, then we signed him, and he was... not. So he certainly has the potential to be a top L1 player I'd say!

In terms of new permanent signings I would say that Fraser Franks has hit the ground running. Scoring too. Tyler Hornby-Forbes at RWB played well v Notts and Cambridge this past week so looks potentially a tidy addition. Even big Jamille is chipping in with goals and is just awkward to defend against.

But I think its the loans we have that have made the most impact. Tyreeq Bakinson a CM from Bristol City looks quality and destined for bigger things. Does most things well and is keeping Crofts out of the starting XI. Mark Harris, a striker from Cardiff, is looking shit hot. Good pace and feet and battles well despite not being the biggest.

All of the above have combined well with the guys retained from last season in Demetriou, Butler, Bennett, Dolan, Amond, Sheehan and Day.

Back up keeper Townsend looks tidy plus we have the likes of Willmott, Marsh-Brown, O'Brien, Semenyo, Cooper and Pipe to make up the numbers.

We have a decent squad this season, albeit a small one. A good start to the season and fingers crossed it lasts. Thought we'd miss Labadie but not so.

A-Jay Leitch-Smith has really impressed me so far - seems to have bags of energy and ability and a good football brain. The (very) young Carlos Mendes Gomes looks a really exciting prospect.

Jordan Cranston has looked to have the energy but seems lacking in other areas.....

Good to hear Bakinson is doing well so far. Looked a real prospect here and was disappointed he didn't really get a chance to break into the 1st team before going to Bristol City after essentially getting fed up of not getting an opportunity. In the brief appearances he had he looked a really classy midfield player.

On paper it's Baxter but I've not seen him kick a ball yet. From the unknown quantities I've seen I like branger. Can ping a sweet ball in at will it seems. Ivesen in goal looks a cracking bit of business as well.

As for poor signings I didn't rate already last time around and he has done nowt to disprove that theory this time. Will do well to hit 5 this season although admittedly he scored today. Coke looks weak at best in the middle

Generally speaking, we've been quite average so I'm not sure about best yet. Until we get a run of decent team performances I don't think we can call that one.

On the flip side, there's not a worst either. No-one really looks out of place or keeping with the squad we've got.
