If you could place teams into league 1 (being semi realistic ie/ Man Utd, Chelsea, Canvey Island and Stalybridge Celtic arnt going to play in league 1) who would you put in

I'd go

1. Crewe - obviously
2. Port Vale - local game with abit of spice
3. Shrewsbury - again fairly local, always take a good following their
4. Burton Albion - like the ground and fairly local
5. Tranmere - not to far away and have friends who follow them.
6. Stockport County - Cheshire rivals and miss playing them
7. Torquay - as long as we can play the away game in the summer, great away day.
8. Charlton - always need a London away day and I've never been the Valley.
9. Macclesfield - local game, usually fill the away end.
10. Notts County - always lose vs them but its a good away day
11. Walsall - local and enjoy games vs them.
12. Coventry - usually beat them and enjoy playing them.
13 - QPR - love the ground, London away day, good memories.
14. Blackpool - always a good day out.
15. Brighton - never been the new ground
16. York - lovely City and we owe them 1 from Wembley and fa cup humiliation
17. Wrexham - European away day and old rival.
18. Chester - Old county rivals
19. Wigan - never liked them, so always good to get one over on them.
20. Bournemouth - good for a weekender
21. Huddersfield - I like the ground
22. Cambridge - never been
23. Leeds - always bring a big crowd.
24. Oldham - its not league 1 without Oldham, its the law.

Fairly North West/Midlands biased but enough good trips in, and enough smaller sides so we would be competitive

retain Bradford, Barnsley, Oldham and Preston for the current local rivals
promote Bury, Southend and Shrewsbury - mates support them.
Relegate Derby, Ipswich & Sunderland who we've never played.
Bournemouth and Torquay for the bank holiday away games.
I always quite liked Barnet, so they'll do as token Londoners.
Got to have Hartlepool, so the most played Div 4 fixture can move up one.
York, for the pubs.
Hereford was always OK as a day out.
Southport, Fleetwood and Whitby Town for the fish & chips.
Lowestoft Town - 150 years ago, some my family lived thereabouts.
Walsall (like em)
Yeovil (like them, too)
Haverfordwest County (a surprisingly good night out in darkest Pembrokeshire.

Think that's 24!

So, City fans, would you prefer to play/not to play Rovers on a semi regular basis?

Seems a bit pointless having a city rival you never get to play.

Them in the conference is a thing of beauty
I get that, as did we when Oxford were despatched to the nether regions. But to play them twice a season now and again needs to be done.

It could well be years and years before you get to play them again.

True, but think of all the stress that comes with a defeat. We had 1990 and their endless gloating and In the 1980s when we couldnt buy a win against them.
We played them last in 2013 and won, now they are in the non league I hope we never face them again.
Nothing but a bunch of Rag Ass Rovers.

Plenty of local trips should be feasible, even discounting those Premier League ever presents. Chuck in a seaside trips, London games and a couple of randoms & you're about there.

Quite. Oxford beat us twice even though we romped L2. I blame di Canio.

This is difficult and a bit cringeworthy when you've followed two teams from a young age, but. No particular order and just for laughs.

1. Bury/Halifax Town
2. Burnley
3. Dirty Leeds
4. Shuddersfield
5. Bratfud City
6. Baaaaaarrrrnsleh
7. Bolton Wanderers
8. York City
9. Whitby Town
10. Hull City
11. Rochdale
12. Oldham Athletic
13. Preston North End
14. Sheffield United
15. Sheffield Wednesday
16. Rotherham County
17. Wigan Borough
18. Chester City
19. Wolverhampton Wanderers
20. FC United of Manchester
21. Carlisle United
22. Stockport County
23. Scarborough Athletic
24. Chorley

Dunno where feasibility starts and ends here. Halifax Town are very unlikely to make it into League One any time soon, but for the likes of Whitby chances are basically between 0 and Fleetwood. So if Whitby are in there, should I have included Liverpool and Manure too? In honesty I don't think I'd be able to stand their fans, have enough people as it is plastered on my Facebook feed pointing at Juan Mata's shirt on their Old Trafford tours, gurning vacantly. I'm not sure if we watch the same sport, supporting your local team vs. pretending to be a journalist for a gossip mag. I don't think I'm interested in long trips either. There are definitely contenders but you'd need to pick a few at the expense of decent northern teams.

I was going to ask this question, but its a general thing as they are not only ones to hope it.

but I never understand fans who don't want their real rivals in same division, I'd rather have the games than not have them....but I suppose when supporting a club with no rivals we would like that type of game.

Surely having been through the same with Oxford, you appreciate how sweet it is seing them slum it in semi professional football. I enjoy the derbies but im enjoying this so so so much more! I hope they never return to the league.

I'm 20 and I've never known anything different. It was a slight shame in the past but them being in the Conference and the way it went about is just pure hilarity. Now all we need is for Forest Green to beat them in this year's Play-Off final.

4. Cheltenham
5. Bristol City

7. Swindon

A fair bit of southern bias but I've chucked a few teams who would bring a decent number down here too I think. All those SW clubs would be perfect.
