Crewe (Obviously)
Stoke (They need to be knocked down a couple of pegs to this league but playing them like old times would be class)
Port Vale (Always love a good local game with these lot, 3 guaranteed points at Vale Park)
Wrexham (Cracking away end if we brought a few, local game)
Tranmere (Same as Wrexham)
Stockport (Old Cheshire Derby which deserves resurrecting)
Oldham (Synonymous with League One, must be included)
Shrewsbury (Good day out on the piss, shame about their shitty out of town Lego ground because the old grounds location was perfect)
Walsall (Another nice local game to have, don't seem to lose at the Bescot too)
Swindon (Love a Westcountry away day, even if it's a bogey ground.)
Bristol City (Best city in England)
Bristol Rovers (As above)
Bournemouth (Day out at the seaside)
Cardiff (Potential for a good night out, outstanding waterfront)
Preston (Always love going to Deepdale, easy journey and class ground)
Sheffield United (Great ground, not too far from the station, always nice to have a couple of bigger clubs down here)
Blackpool (Seaside location and would bring decent numbers in Summer)
Plymouth (If the fixture is timed to perfection you can get a holiday in Cornwall out of it)
Barnsley (Decent ground right near the station)
Huddersfield (Another localish game in a decent ground near the station)
Rotherham (New York Stadium was a brilliant ground to visit so wouldn't mind going again)
Wigan (Local away game in a huge ground)
Leeds (Be great to go to Elland Road in League One again like old times. Be great to have a really big side in this league.)
Coventry (Due to our good record at the Ricoh they deserve a spot in this league)

If Chester sorted their ground out I'd have considered them. Likewise if we didn't always lose at Notts County I'd have added them but that'd be my ideal league. A London, South East and North East free league would be amazing personally.

A regionalised bottom 2 divisions would look something like this. Hmmm, good or bad? I'd quite enjoy playing in that southern division, not the least because we'd absolutely steamroller it even more than we are this league 1. :D

South
AFC Wimbledon
Bristol City
Cambridge
Crawley
Cheltenham
Colchester
Coventry
Dagenham
Exeter
Gillingham
Leyton Orient
Luton
MK Dons
Newport
Northampton
Oxford
Peterborough
Plymouth
Portsmouth
Southend
Stevenage
Swindon
Wycombe
Yeovil

We'd probably get in the play-offs in that league, so yeah, let's have it!

Can we make it a 25 team league? Was thinking of teams nearest me and then spiralling out, I have my 24 but there's no room for Walsall. Considering they are the Midlands version of Leyton Orient, they ought to be in there. But there's no team I want to take out. Maybe Colchester for their ground, but it's just up the road... I don't like QPR, but London... Choices.

And no room for Peterborough as well, bah humbug.

(Removed Crawley, Gillingham, Luton and Stevenage just because I hate the towns).

Gillingham could well have a horrific division next season. League One could be massively Northern/Midlands based. Which suits us down to the ground of course as we tend to have the lowest mileage of any side each season due to our location.

I think the problem has just been exaggerated somewhat this season with it being such a northern/midland league.
I would hate a regionalised league as I enjoy a long away day ooop north.
Freezing weather, flat caps, even flatter beer, tripe and chips with gravy, what more could you want from an away day.
It would be nice to have a balance between local games and longer trips though.
Fair point LW, even I have made it to Sheffield and Rotherham recently

I think it's a good mix of clubs geographically, well spread out but at the same time taking the best away days or clubs from each major region apart from the really far flung areas like the North East and South West beyond Somerset. A few of the good local ones like Cambridge Utd, Wycombe, Oxford and Peterborough, but not too many (no Luton because they'd run riot, no Northampton because despite the close distance they're really a non-event). Some clubs with well-established away support to make things interesting in the home legs (Leeds, Wednesday, Portsmouth, Wolves). Few of my favourite away days (Brentford, Wednesday, Yeovil, Preston) and the rest easy ones to travel to (London clubs, Crewe, Notts County, Coventry, Forest, Walsall etc.). Gillingham because they travel well and complained about being forgotten by other people . Only conspicuous omission is AFCW, would hate to see them climb this high or play them regularly, that's one for an occasional cup tie.

So we're not in League One? I don't get it.

So, it's entirely possible that ABSOLUTELY NO-ONE's pick will be there come August!
