Birds of a feather flock together who'da thunk it
There’s some genuine quality in that Sutton side who immediately earned the right to play - out of the Pools 11 I’d say only Dodds gets in their 11. The worry is the amount of top 10 teams we’ve got coming up because I thought they looked very good from the off. Dynamic, quick and confident football. Complete domination.

From the Pools forum. I prefer this Pools fan

Stockport County.
We’re the best footballing side AND one of the biggest shithouses in the division. A recipe for success.
You weren't a good footballing side against us at all.

Only Mansfield and Swindon have looked decent in that regard.

Never a penalty IMHO.

I’ve said all along it was soft, start giving them then there could be 5 a game.

As RC did correctly point out though, don’t give the refs the chance in the first place!

Or give all 5, in which case Hawks would have been given a couple himself.

It’s going to be over a course of a season though.

We battered at orient at their place and lost (somehow), but they’re clearly good at what they do

Judging from the game at our place earlier in the season, you may well be right - certainly about the shithousery. An absolute masterclass.

Not sure if it's happened to anyone else but the stevenage groundsman was a particular type of tosser yesterday. He was deliberately interfering with our keepers warmup - kicking the ball away and standing in the way of shots. Telling our keepers that we couldnt warmup in the box whilst their keepers did so at the other end.

At first I thought it was part of the Evans shithousery but it he's lauding it up on twitter so maybe he just is a top tier wanker.

You’ve literally had fewer 10+ pass sequences than Hartlepool. Stay in your lane, Dream Factory.

Undeniably. Not a dirty side in the slightest but we do enjoy refereeing the game. Probably a good thing as they’re all incompetent. You may also remember the three glorious finishes for our goals as well.

I doubt it’ll happen but a Stevenage implosion would be fantastic. Don’t fancy playing a Steve Evans team in the play-offs mind…..

I actually think we’ll end up playing them. I wouldn’t mind that either, our record against them is very good.

Bradford and Mansfield fans booking their Wembley travel, is it?

All joking aside, without really delving into it too much, it seems to me that Stevenage have been lucky so far with injuries. They don't appear to have an awful lot in the way of backup and seem to play the same 14/15 players week in week out. Not sure what their Jan business was like, but I'd imagine they're a few injuries away from a collapse. However, if that doesn't come then they'll go up automatically you'd think. Very consistent side. Have to give massive credit to Evans, he's probably currently on for manager of the season as much as nobody wants to admit it.

To be fair, prior to our recent lack of games, we’ve spent virtually all season in the play-offs. With games in hand on those above us, it doesn’t sound too far fetched.

Whether we reach Wembley or not is another matter. However, I don’t think the automatics are completely out of reach, either.

I can see us dropping out if anything.

I'd like to hear people's opinions on this red card. Both players legs as high as each other's, just our player marginally later than the other. Possibly the most yellow card challenge ever, if we are sending people off for incidents where the opposition player has a scratch on his knee then the game is gone.

Doesn't look remotely like a red card from that angle.

Never a red, see those challenges all the time. Just a tiny bit late, not remotely dangerous.

It's Seb Stockbridge summed up, he's always hoping for a chance to make a big decision.

Typical L2 referee swayed by the fans/players reaction.

I thought it was harsh at the time and i still do now, but its gone now so time to get over it and move on.

More arsed about the fact we've lost a player who was looking better than our former first choice right back for three games, thanks. If you read my original post on the game on Saturday you'd see that I said a draw was the most we deserved and we should've seen the draw out with only ten minutes to go.

Exact same thing happened to us at Blundell Park last season, both players go in studs up, their lad decided he was in agony (which disappeared as soon as the red came out). They turned a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 win so chalk another one up for the dark arts.

Never ever a red. Not even close for me.

I'd be furious if we were on the receiving end of that decision. It's a foul - and probably a booking - but it's never a red card.

The third sticks in my mind, largely due to the lad being literally 10 yards offside

Referee's assessor issued an apology for that and the blatant penalty not being awarded. Props to your defender for inciting Edmo's swing at him in the immediate aftermath - shithousery at its finest!
