Agree with that, would've been happy with a point here and three at Crewe before kick off, thank fuck we only have to witness them twice a season, imagine buying a season ticket to watch THAT every week, like watching the Six Nations.
I would have took a point before the game,as we always struggle against Sutton’s style of ‘football’.
We could have been 4 down, but somehow kept it to 2 & Eastmond getting sent off changed the game, getting back into it with absolute crackers.
My thoughts on Sutton haven’t changed, bunch of thugs, managed by a fat arsehole, who rub their hands when they get a weak as piss ref.
How the hell Bogiel wasn’t sent off after a shocking challenge on Sterry was baffling, they’re a total disgrace to the game.
I know I’m in the minority, but I think it was a point gained considering the first 30 mins & thankfully won’t play any more teams like that.

Because I predicted us to win last week and look what happened.

Not a bad point today, but our toothlessness in front of goal is cause for concern
Yeah, got to admit that the Dennis/Garner combination didn't really work. Garner should probably have scored that header at the end of the first half, but other than that neither really had a sniff. We looked sharper with Gordon and Patrick. We didn't seem to have enough pace today IMO. I'd like to see us start both Gordon and Patrick on Tuesday, with either Dennis or Garner in between them - but the question would then be if there was enough protection for the back line.

Still, its a point and a clean sheet at a side whose home form is decent, and we did a good job of keeping the Dons at bay. Jack Ellis will be back in the next week or two, and hopefully Edmondson, Charters, and Back won't be too far behind.

True. For all our signings, we still have no pace in the team.

You deserved to win, but your commentators on ifollow seem to think you are Real Madrid, which is really weird. Genuinely deluded.

Morris did play well but your keeper denied Lapslie at the end when he should have scored. Lapslie hasn't started for us which is puzzling, apart from one week when he did not train due to illness.

Part of having a dodgey stick is listening to bias commentators.

Lapslie should start for you lot quite frankly he creates and scores goals and looked a threat today when he came on.

Just a word on the penalty, they are barely ever given for ‘persistent pulling’ but hopefully referees start too because it’s got ridiculous. Will benefit Gillingham down road because Hawkins always gets dragged about in the penalty box.

Think the Hartlepool lads and lasses need another dose of non league. It’ll be good for their ongoing education. Not sure I’ve seen a worse team in the last 5 seasons across the 2 games. Go up to their gaff and as an away side should be 3 or 4 up and they’re picking holes in our style. Without the sending off it’s just a question of how many. Laughable. Forgotten their non league roots already.

Oh and here is one of yours putting one of our best players out of the game in the first half.

According to Evans they should have had three pens in the first half, we should have had two red cards, Derbyshire's effort never went over the line, a save Lewis made was actually over the line and the ref had a shocker. Never change, you fat mess.
The fat c*** as gracious as ever in defeat then.

You can’t seriously deny that it is true what they say though surely?
Ok that style of play works for you, fair enough, you can choose to play however you want to but in terms of a spectacle it’s absolutely awful to watch or do you genuinely find your team entertaining?

Literally no one has said that you shouldn’t have been 3 or 4 up, or claims that we are anything other than a poor side, that’s obvious. But that doesn’t change the fact your style of “football” although effective is rancid to watch, and we won’t be the only set of fans on here who say that.

Also.. the irony in you saying we have forgotten our non league roots? You realise we were promoted in the same season, after our only spell out of the football league and for your first promotion into it?

I take it you were one of the 90 something fans there today, to disagree with anything that we have said about todays game?

Nah I think it’s total bollocks really. People see what they want to see. We’ve outplayed them in all facets of the game. We can move the ball well. We’re not going to be bullied but we earn the right and can play in the right areas. Our wide boys up there with the most exciting in the league. Never enjoyed watching a Sutton team as much as this one. Though the game at yours was grim (!), I don’t see your style as any different at all.

Sutton fans should embrace their shithouse style, and not cry about it, all considering.

Haha the non league bit was a joke but thanks for explaining it!!

No and unfortunately ifollow was f’d though it took my tenner! You brought 160 to us, no doubt including London exiles. And what? Well done to all who travel those sort of distances and spend that sort of cash.

I’ll agree to disagree on style. We’re direct but I’ve seen a fair few very boring sides knocking about between their back 4 or 5 and having no idea how to create anything. Yes, there’ll be some bad games thrown in but there is for everyone at this level.

Odd game at home to gillingham, pretty simple easy game without any fuss at all.

Relatively easy stroll without ever looking bothered and getting out of 2nd gear.

Calling what Sutton do a ‘style of play’ :fl:

It’s not even just direct football it’s just pure bad sportsmanship from the get go, they kick lumps out of yer, roll around on the floor untouched, swarm the ref over decisions, time waste on goal kicks, throw ins, free kicks, everyone wants their team to have a bit of a ‘narky streak’ at times but I’d be embarrassed to have this lot represent Pools, I really would.

Feel sorry for Ajiboye in that side really, almost feels like a hate crime him having to lineup alongside Bugiel and Eastmond every week.

My goodness, we have history with him going back to when he was manager at Crawley when we as a crowd got him sent off. Odious individual but unfortunately an effective manager given the right circumstances.

A draw probably the right result at the Bescot today, game of two halfs. Second half for 35mins is as well as I have seen us play this season, we was running Walsall ragged with our passing and moving - annoyingly we over play alot at times and our strikers don't quite have that killer instinct. We very nearly stole the win at the end.

Having said that, first half Walsall were dominant for an early spell and could've doubled their lead which would've changed the game. Losing Matt and Stevens impacted Walsalls gameplan I thought, sad to see Conor Wilkinson stretched off at the end.

Last week if you offered me 7 points from this week, I'd have taken it. Now we have 2 home games in a week which we need to make the most of.

I love our style, the fact that it boils the piss out of so many supporters of other teams who can’t, or won’t see, that their own team attempts to do similar, makes it all the more enjoyable.

We just dont keep the ball well enough to have a chance of finishing in the top 7 first half was ok an improvement on the dreadful spectacle at Northampton last week but second half we just sat back far too early they were always going to score they are a good side play some decent stuff the hoofball pisses me off as well does not suit a lot of our players.

Mate, a Hartlepool player literally injured one of our key players in the first 15 minutes. I don’t think we should be taking advice from Hartlepool on how to play football tbh

A glance at the league table makes it clear that nobody should be taking advice from Hartlepool on how to play football.

As a Sutton follower, I get the impression that Ajiboye is more than happy to return to them on loan. I wish that more clubs were as enlightened as Peterborough are and allow their signings to go back on loan to their former clubs.

That for Hartlepool fans moaning about Sutton’s style of play, are you really that much better?

Yes, I can say with 100% certainty that we, Hartlepool and if I can be so bold the other 22 teams in this league don’t hold a candle to the ‘Sutton style’ :fl:

Just accept your a bunch of shithouses who play anti football and I don’t think we’d be as arsed, keep knocking out the whataboutisms if it makes you feel any better.

It’s each to their own, but considering how well Sutton are doing to be in the EFL I understand why you would love it.

I remember when we were under Parkinson, I think it was some Chesterfield fans on another forum who called our football a cancer to football. Under Parkinson we got a promotion, league cup final, FA Cup quarter final and regular top half/playoff campaigns in the league above. Give me that any day of the week.

Sutton’s football was dogshit when we have played them, but it’s got them too the highest point in their history so they should enjoy it and I don’t blame them.

Stockport County.
Always the London sides that play the most awful, shithouse football. They invented the fake goalkeeping head injury on Hackney Marshes. That and Wembley the only two things London has brought to Association Football in this country.

Conor has not long come back from his acl injury from last season the way he went off is a big concern no news yet but it didnt look good i hope you go up nice to see a side try and play football at this level was impressed with you today we were better than last week but i felt we sat back too early although that could be you pushed us back depending on how you saw it.
