Thought the first half was closer than the score line suggests and it was a good end to end match. Tollitt sending off was on opposite side, so accept the word of those who were closer that it was a dive. However his initial card seemed harsh. Game ruined at that point. Chester missed a string of chances, but just when it looked like we might hold, Astles, who shouldn't have still been on the pitch at that point and is almost as fat as McNulty levels.

Can't argue with the result, the way Chester played second half could probably have got something even iF it had been xi v xi

Woking really should be winning this. I feel for Houshams heart every time Woking have the ball in our half

Well done Gateshead tore us a new one. This result will be a surprise to most in the division but the injuries and our best player being in the Caribbean it had defeat written all over it.

We have a very young and inexperienced team but hopefully we can hang on to play offs but will take massive effort for that. Can't fault the effort even in games like today.

Would take top 10 right now and given the last 3 years it's a welcome.

Reports that a Chester fan has sadly died at the game today.

Just watched the Woking V North Ferriby game and my god that was a shocking selection for TV, having said that Woking should have won that. Delano Sam-Yorke is horrendous, as was the entire North Ferriby team. I was happy when Woking equalised because they deserved nothing out of that. An absolute certainty for the drop.

Astles clearly won the header, an your player came in late and lost the 50/50. Astles was clearly protecting himself. Yes he is big, but big boned.. not fat

Your keeper could of got a 2nd yellow for his pointless time wasting. There was that
2 footed challenge in the last 10 mins also.

Agree with the point of tranmere being dirty.
McNulty is your chief at arms regarding this...
Lots of grievances for both side regarding the ref and we all see incidents from different angles during the game.

Terrible news, RIP to the fan that has passed. Any further news?

Total game of two halves today, their goal was against the run but very poor defending lead to that (more on that in a moment!) Then it was the Nathan Arnold show as his great finishing ability with two quality strikes to put us in front and then right on half time Robinson blazes over when he should have made it 3-1. By this point was struggling after a couple of kicking from their defenders (both booked). He went off not long into the second half and the levelled not long after their player was given time and space to score. Then Arnold went down on haunches and then went off too! Yet more poor defending lead to them taking the lead. Whitehouse came on for Power but even we looked slow and ponderous, not our normal selves at all. Finally we got going just before full time and finally starting forced corners when Raggett took a boot to the head. As you expect they were time wasting big time and going down trying to con the ref but right near the end their 19 when down with cramp but as it was the umpteenth time they''d tried it on the ref waved play on and you what happened next the big man finished with aplomb, then all hell broke loose and at least one person from their bench was sent to the stands for complaining about their player being down with cramp and the ref not stopping the game for him to be treated.
So good to see us get a goal so late on could prove vital later in the season. Our defending today was terrible and we didn't stop them getting crosses in as we were far too narrow throughout the game and we weren't winning the important second balls in and around our area.

Proud we kept going and we just seemed to lose our way maybe cos the injuries dunno. Shona and I went potty when Rheady scored at the death, not seen celebs like that for a while!

Just back from daggers, and not taking the Mick , it could have been 8 or 9 hit the post, keeper made a few good saves thought we were great no messing and bossed them from the off, daggers,?!!! Obviously a better team than today s performance otherwise would not be 2 in the league, but sorry daggers fans we ripped you apart today

Funnily enough, we were also missing a key player who was out in the Caribbean today. Sadly, a couple of others might as well have been with him.

Not long back, not an entirely convincing win but on the other hand Russell only had to make a couple of saves of any note and a good few decent individual performances, Sinclair, Pinnock and Racine. If KMB had put away his golden chance would have been a lot more comfortable as Macc did press well for a spell late on without really threatening IMO.

Mills is turning York round, although Eastleigh deserved to win saw massive improvement today and actually had a midfield that was mobile.under Jackie would of lost 5-0.
Danny Holmes played centre midfield and had a very good game and assist for goal.
Still need another striker but big step forward under Mills and will push on soon.

I believe a chester fan had a heart attack after the game this makes any events on the pitch today or for the rest of the season pale into insignificance, rip mate.

I don't know what's surprised me more today, the sentence 'Danny Holmes played centre midfield and had a very good game and assist for the goal' or Gateshead winning 5-0 at Dagenham

Deserved professional win.

We're STORMING IT.

9 points clear. Like I said at the start of the season we're HEAD AND SHOULDERS the best team in this league. Can't wait for Lincoln.

Chris,
If Lincoln and Tranmere win their game in hand, it reduces our lead to 6 points.
FGR still have to play them home and away - that's 12 points they could take off us.
I don't think, come Springtime, we will be 6 points adrift but I never thought Cheltenham would be so dominant last season.

Sincere condolence to the family and friends of the Chester fan who passed away at game.
RIP

Agree, they should have picked the 6 goal thriller between two sides in the top 7 ;)

Had a nights sleep and am still gutted. Thought we were the better side in the 2nd half and being 3-2 up after 95 minutes really should have won the game. I don't think Kanu was playacting, he had been struggling with cramp for 10-15 minutes and Waddock is not the kind of manager who would tollerate that anyway. That said, we really should have taken him off earlier in hindsight. If there is any blame for the goal its probably Cole's poor punch from the initial cross.

Had a couple of relatives with me who thought it was a great game of football between two decent sides.

We've now played the top 3 away and were not outplayed by any of them. We could and should have taken 5 points from those games but only took 1, fine margins I feel will cost us later in the season. Still, we've now played 5 of the top 6 away so our away fixtures can't get any harder!

Btw Tranmere are the dirtiest team we've played this season, even dirtier than FGR and Lincoln City.
Check out the FA website and you will discover that FGR are the best (least worst) in the Fair Play league with just 28 yellow cards.
Chester are 10th worst with 36 yellow and one red
Lincoln 14th worst with 33 yellow and 1 red
Tranmere 7th worst with 31 yellow and 3 red
http://www.thefa.com/football-rules-governance/discipline/fairplay
So your complaint that FGR and Lincoln are dirtier than Chester does not have merit.
