I’m as gutted as anyone about Tshimanga but it is a contact sport and this does unfortunately happen from time to time. I’ll reserve judgment until I see the challenge. I think we still have a good enough squad to win the league, Stockport are shit and borehamwood are boring - plus we have the best manager outside league 1. Not time to panic.

Said the other day the Paul Cook appointment was needed for you, because this Webb fella didn't have the bollocks for it. Shat his pants on Tuesday and has obviously done the same today down at Weymouth.

If Cook can instill some cojones into this Chesterfield side, it'd be a massive benefit. But I think he's got a massive job to turn round a functional yet effective side that Rowe built who relied heavily on the goals of a player who is likely out for the rest of this campaign.

Is he going to get the down the same path? Or start trying to play an expansive game etc? It's hard at this time of the season when what you had been doing for the majority of the season had been working.

If Cook doesn't get you up, if he thinks he's waltzing back into League One again he's in for a big shock. He's taken a massive risk.

There was nothing on either teams twitter updates suggesting a foul or even a bad foul on Tshimanga? Perhaps when he returns to fitness he will be in the EFL
Another predictable game for Dover today letting in late goals

A defensive error cost us the win, Cook will have to decide what formation he wants to play which was with 1 up top before

That's so harsh. Tshimanga has been the most clinical and probably the best player at this level this year, which should not serve to demean any other long term injuries that have unfortunately occured but a top player at any level suffering such a major injury hammers home just how fragile these people's livelihoods are. Hopefully he can recover quickly.

What does probably needs to be said, and I'm sorry to all the Chesterfield lot for doing it now, is that we now have to see what the rest of their squad is made of. They have the second best squad in the division after Stockport but they've been so heavily reliant on Tshimanga's goals this season that it's hard to see them recovering from this and Rowegate. If they go up now then the strength of character of their squad is something that will need to be commended.
Routine win for us with the best #10 in the league bagging 2 goals and Paul Hurst finally growing the spuds to drop Giles Coke
LOL your Fotmob must be broken as well, because the Wrexham fans are surely right? The rubbish McAtee definitely hasn't scored two more.

The lad is absolutely brilliant. If we have him next season then we've pulled a blinder. I put him above the likes of Connell, Hearn, Almond and Bogle. Oozes class, absolute shithouse, runs his arse off, well clever. Just a cut above. The only player I'd swap for him in this division broke his leg today so that makes him the best player in the Conference right now for me.

Imagine spunking all that money on Palmer, Mullin, Quigley, Madden, etc. when Grimsby have picked up a better player for a bag of apples and 10k off Scunny. Best bit of business anyone in this division has done in the last two windows by a long way when you factor cost in.

8 points behind play offs 17 to go. Our form does have to be amazing no doubt Grimsby at home Friday night, win and it will be 5 points behind for a short while atleast followed by Eastleigh we could run close

That's because it wasn't given as a free kick. Wank ref.

The fact is though Hans, is we've had far too many long term injuries this season caused by shocking tackles and red card offences that aren't given. Gav gunning had his face broken. George carline, kabs, Joe Rowley. I'm sure theres more. The referees do nothing to control games or protect players.

The lad was in the form of his life and had chance for a big move in the summer. Gone with one horrible tackle.

It's a different ref so that should help :)
The pitch looked in quite good condition yesterday
Just don't leave until 7.00pm if you're travelling down

2 goals against Dead Aldershot for James McAtee. The man feasts out exclusively against the rubbish of the league tbf, you can't knock him. A goal is a goal.

It looks like Dover might avoid the worst of the rain, so we should be ok. Any thoughts on the game? It looks like you’ve showed *slightly* more resolve lately?

Well we got Jordan Davies for free last season. Just the 12 goals this season (no penalties) so far from midfield.

we have improved but almost never score 2 goals in a game.
yesterday's goal in the 25th min was the 1st attack apart from a corner that never got in the penalty area.
we let in too many unmarked goals from set pieces, if you're any good with them you will score.
plus we haven't got the fitness for 90mins against FT teams.
Easy away win.

I think the only positive I can see is that we have Asante back to full fitness - who isn’t Tshimanga but if we do switch to the 4-2-3-1 that cook loves so dearly - we may be okay with Asante leading the line. I don’t think we have money for reinforcements- how can you when Danny Rowe and Tshimanga are both out. It’s a blow but I just want the lad to be okay - leg breaks can be potentially career ending which would be a huge shame for him given his potential.

Yes it is hugely disappointing and we’ve had a lot of contact injuries. Pretty sure Jeff kings knee was contact too.

All the money we have spent and Davies is still by far our best player.

Another cracking strike yesterday.

Firstly, wishing Kabby a swift recovery.

Couldn't go yesterday, wife's birthday present mlanned, so heres me yesterday.... Golf teed off at 8, average round, but enjoyed tbe frdsh air and sunshine. 5pm pub grub in Old Leigh, then tl the Palace to see Oye Santana... Stunnning brilliant. Avoided score so in at 11 and watched the full game. Brilliant first half, dominated it. Put on ghe rack second half, defo penalty. Our claim wasn't. Thought thd ref was one of the best we havd had this year. Revert to 4 4 2 and frlnt Woking up more in our half. Best move of the match gets imo a deserved win. Still unbeaten in 2022. One note, Murphy top sxorer on 7, gets injured and out, Dennis, gets to 7, out injured we go away and score 3. The squad is so strong now in comparison to August. Next up Grimsby on Friday. Will be there. UTB

Best thing Keates did with his time managing us was sign Davies on a free. I could see him venturing into club legend territory one day.

Honestly, in the cold light of day, I don't want to be a doomsayer but I think there's very little chance we go up now, unless Cooky can work some magic pretty quickly. At one stage we had about 12 players out injured, we lost our best attacking midfielder long term in December, we've just lost the leagues best striker for the season (probably), our 2nd best striker has a dodgy ticker, our manager got canned for wopping his lad out (ALLEGEDLY). Has any team ever gone on to promotion after such fuckaboutery happening? I'm really nervous about things right now, I think this is the lowest I've felt since the Trust took over. They just seem to get no luck

I'm not convinced that you're out of contention just yet. Boreham Wood are up there still and I'd argue their team is worse than yours on paper, even without Tshimanga. If you have decent leadership in your side, this could spur your lads on to rally together and put in a decent fight for the title.

Yea I know what you're saying, adversity does that sometimes doesn't it. I gotta be honest though I am a bit unsure about Paul Cook as well, most of the concerns people voiced in the shan off the gaffer thread are valid to be fair. Really hope I'm wrong, I'd never be happier to be.

The tackle is doing the rounds on Twitter now (I won’t upload it here but it’s posted by @spireitealex if you want to look), and to honest it looks a pretty standard solid but fair challenge, ref has an excellent view of it too.

Yeah, that’s just a complete freak accident. Not even a foul. Guessing his foot must get stuck in the turf or something, horrible.
