He only had one goal for us at this time last year and didn't get his third until early/mid October. Funnily enough we were doing alright then as well, started to go downhill when his goals came!

That's partially encouraging at least...

I'm working in Chesterfield today, so I could reasonably go home via Macclesfield and take in the match. Or if I wanted a more exciting evening, I could go straight home and do some ironing.

Macc would have to be pretty dismal to lose to us at home the way we've been playing: 2-0 to Macclesfield.

Yep agreed. Cannot see anything other than a comfortable Macc win

I can't imagine we will get anything tonight. Our penultimate match in this tough run of fixtures. Hopefully Bignot gets us to park the bus and we frustrate the home crowd.

I just can't see us beating Tranmere, but a draw is conceivable. If we start like we have been doing, we'll be two down before we wake up.

If we play like we have been doing recently then we could play until you wake up tomorrow morning and not score two.

Yeah, I see you're on a kind of mini-run of poor form and we've started OK at home, but as said elsewhere I think the only really decent-looking team we've actually beaten was Macc and that was a bit of a comedy lower-league goal for 1-0. You don't seem overly enamoured by Brabin's tactical acumen either, but in McNamara he might well meet his match in ineptitude.

Unstoppable force meets immovable object, I'm going for a draw but we don't really do clean sheets so 1-1.

Expect changes tonight, we tend to rotate anyway but Coops was rightly pissed off after Saturday and will be interesting to see what he does. Would like to see Kelly, Frear, Moore and KMB start. We need to go all out attack, cos we aint keeping a clean sheet.

Love all this reverse psychology from the Wrexham fans, you're not fooling me.

Macc 1 - 2 Wrexham.

Macclesfield should overcome Wrexham - they have the better XI. Neutral perspective.

If we score early I can see us getting a hatful again. If not it could become a bit tense, and if so, the players will have to remain patient and stick to their convictions.

Can actually see this being quite close, feeling a bit nervous actually, can't quite put my finger on it. We should have too much for Solihull but I just have a nagging doubt.

Will Lincoln be able to handle the pressure of keeping top spot warm for us? Tranmere couldn't.

Yep, best fight back with our own: Macc 0 Wrexham 8 (eight).

I am actually expecting a tought game tonight, despite the fact Wrexham may be playing poorly they're clearly not crap.

Sorry to burst the Silkmen but there's a good chance of this not going ahead. Massive downpour. Puddles all over the pitch.

Bit of a shit situation this because even if the game does go ahead, because of the weather and the uncertainty that goes with it, our attendance will be significantly reduced, both in home and away fans.

3 changes for us tonight. Jefford, KMB and Doidge in, Racine, Robert and Tubbs out.

Captain Racine dropped from ther squad altogether. Kelly back on bench.

Game off. Good result for us.

I'm not so sure, I was almost certain we weren't going to win tonight simply because we've won the last 3 games in a row. At this level, teams seem to win a game or two and then don't have the mental strength to keep focus and keep winning, barring the top few teams. Now, I think this will pass over to the Eastleigh game, which we would probably lose anyway.

Champion comes straight into our midfield, with Beevers dropping to the bench allowing Wood to go back to RB. Marriott also replaces Bonne up front.

Farman, Wood, Waterfall, Raggett, Habergham, Hawkridge, Champion, Woodyard, Arnold, Marriott, Rhead
Subs: Beevers, Power, Muldoon, Anderson, Bonne

That looks like braintree during a july heatwave
Don't know what took them so long to call it off to be honest. I arrived at 6.00 and it was pretty clear. The end in the picture always comes off worst when it rains although the centre circle and far touchline was also underwater. Roads around the ground all completely flooded.

So we've had to call off a match before Braintree have this season? :ffs:

Some storm that was. It was 28 degrees and blazing sunshine along the A50, then as soon as you hit Stoke, it was black skies, thunder, lightning and torrential rain. I thought they might've sacked Mark Hughes or something.

Don't know what you're on about, it looks ok to me. PLAY ON.

Terrible first half. We need to find a way around these tinpotters who camp on their 18-yard line.
