Btw, sorry DSL but it looks like I was wrong. Only chance now is if Barnet score something like three times in the opening 15 minutes, and Rovers take their foot off the gas.

Also, that pitch is horrendous. How much longer do Kiddy have to put up with it?

We've let them off the hook though - psychological boost with them, Gateshead on holiday etc.

You're right. I'm starting to believe this 'no relegated club wins the title on their first attempt'. Usually I just dismiss these things, but I'm sure having doubts now.

We were not great, especially in the first half. Kiddy played with a great deal of fight and really closed us down.
Our Twitter reckons the referee got the penalty call right but I will say that Stack is a lucky man to stay on.
We created more chances in the second half but never quite turned the screw.
Unbelievable that it's still in our hands..

Whoever runs it was wrong Hughes turned you man who left a trailing leg and caught Hughes definite penalty

Also any chance Barnet players can actually stay on their feet? Constantly throwing themselves to the floor

If that was us blowing it in 88th minute of penultimate game, Dovers ground would be needing a spot of redecoration tomorrow!
Feel genuinely sorry for Rovers fans today, to be so close to top this close to the end and blow it, they must be pig sick.
At least we started our cocking it up a couple of weeks earlier to soften our pain!

Well that was as exciting as to be expected. Kudos to the 125 from Torquay who travelled. Was funny seeing our cluless stadium management roll out extra dozen or so fluorescent monkeys to prevent fans running onto the pitch when the reality was that half clapped the players for a reasonable season, leaving the remainder to trudge off with their misery and deluded expectations.

Feck. Ing. Hell.

Kiddie played bloody good, must have been one of their best performances of the year so far? We did everything BUT score for a long while - off the line, post, missed chances, saves, penalty appeals. Was absolute trauma watching that second half from the other end of the pitch. Btw Kiddy fans, are Hodgekiss and Kelly always that decent?

Lee Hughes can rot in a prison cell. Absolutely despise that piece of scum. Properly detestable human being. How Kiddie fans can applaud him off the pitch I don't know. Would not want him even playing against my club, let alone a regular in the team.

Dover!! Bloody hell. Gutting for Rovers fans, but it's still anyone's to play for. Gateshead are a good team and you won't drop points to Alfreton. Not over by a long, long way yet.

Flat end of season performance - not much else to say about the game.

Chester got an early penalty and that was enough for them to be taking the points home.

Well there's a reason Hodgkiss picked up 4 awards today. Been amazing all season. And as I said about Kelly earlier he played amazingly on the left wing considering he's naturally a CB. He was apparently put there to stop your attacks down the right wing.

Haha oh Bristol what have you done! Come on Barnet!
I wouldn't start gloating yet-- Still 90mins to go and as we found out last season anything can happen in that amount of time.

From the looks of the two matches he deserved them! Solid player, will he be around next season? Wouldn't mind him here if I'm honest :cool1:

Kelly done very well. Got forward as often as possible which is commendable if he's a CB! Was really impressed with he whole match day experience at yours today.

By the way - the chicken curry and cottage pie were immense! I envy you being able to eat that every game.

That tactic worked very well in the first half. In the second half our full-backs were able to push up more and we started to create chances.

We've offered him a contract but whether we can afford him is another matter

Couldn't be less arsed about the result nor form but very good for us to pick something up late on, signs of a fighting spirit we didn't really have in previous seasons.

Is it gloating to say you were within 2 minutes of putting the title in your own hands and blew it?
All down to the final day.

No one is gloating as nothing has been won yet. Just find it amusing that you blew a great chance to snatch the title from our grasp.

Pretty dull affair at Aldershot today which was to be expected given we both have nothing to play for.

Thought we would be too lightweight in midfield with Rooney and Abbott but they both did well. If there hadn't have been a penalty I don't think either team would have scored if they were still playing now. Overall I think we just about shaded it but I'm biased.

If Barker gets the managers job full time, Aldershot fans better hope he doesn't play himself much - he was pretty poor. Plummer looked good though.

Dire today. You wouldn't necessarily have known which team was already relegated.

Well, that's it from us for this season. But what a one it has been. Loved it.

12th > 9th and now 7th. So next year must be...

Weren't good enough in the first half today although had enough chances to win it in the second.

I fear for us in the summer with players moving on.

I feel sick. I honestly can't believe it. We seemed comfortable, I get to the petrol station and fill up at 1-1. I'm back within a minute and the commentator is saying 'can rovers get that second goal?' And I think to myself, don't be greedy, 1 will do. Then they tell me it's 1-1 and my heart just sunk.

Can't see Barnet dropping points again, they will come out flying against Gateshead and will probably go 2-0 up early allowing them to relax while the sold out mem is devastated.

Onto the playoffs I guess

That was much better. :2thumb: I thought we played very well today and some of our youngsters (Kelly and Tunnicliffe in particular) dealt with proven, good players very effectively. A draw was probably a fair result, but it could have finished about 4-4. But Barnet's midfield, excluding Clifford (looks a decent player), somehow managed to make O'Keefe look good.

The referee was possibly the worst I've seen this season, he was so weak and bottled every major decision he had to make. A definite penalty for the foul on Hughes, he turned the defender the wrong way who then tripped him. Both the linesman and the referee had a good view but neither gave it. Creighton said after the game he had spoken with the 4th official who had said that in his view it was a certain penalty. We should actually have another penalty earlier in the game when one of the centre backs punched the ball under pressure from Wright, but the ref and linesman were woefully behind the play and as a result missed it. Barnet could have had a penalty in the second half after a clumsy challenge, but I suspect the ref was evening it up. However, that didn't excuse two other Barnet players throwing themselves to the floor in the area late in the game with barely anyone around them. I'm assuming it was an off day for Akinde who wouldn't have scored if the game was still going now. He missed two sitters and 3 or 4 good chances.

Stack should definitely have been sent off (for the second consecutive time at Aggborough). If the linesman deems that he caught the ball outside the area, and Craig Reid is right up there next to him, how is that anything but him denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity?! Mad decision.

Our midfield didn't function well today, Vilhete in particular didn't play well. Reid was not as close to Stack as may have appeared from the other end.
