Stack should definitely have been sent off (for the second consecutive time at Aggborough). If the linesman deems that he caught the ball outside the area, and Craig Reid is right up there next to him, how is that anything but him denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity?! Mad decision.

Probably because it was Craig Reid stood next to him.... anyone else and you would have had a point ;)

Reid was not as close to Stack as may have appeared from the other end.
In that case, why would Stack feel the need to rush to catch it, surely he could have waited the extra half a second for the ball to be in the area?

To be fair, he was miles offside. I think Stack caught it naturally expecting the call only for them not to give it.

What was the noise from our end like today? Only ask as its the first away I've got to this season and it sounded bloody loud inside that terrace. Not hugely impressed with the travelling numbers (870 is still good though) but the noise and atmosphere was best I've been in for a long while. Maybe since the penalty save at Underhills last game, but not much could top that.

Reid wasn't offside as he started his run from inside his own half, it was never a sending off though. We should have had a penalty for the foul on Yiadom in the second half. How we didn't score 4 or 5 in that game was unbelievable.

Also some idiot went nuts saying Dover had equalised about ten minutes before they actually did. So naturally everyone went nuts before it slowly filtered through 5 mins later that they hadn't :D so when they actually scored no one believed it for a while

That made me pretty angry. I also couldn't understand why people were celebrating when our match finished. Bristol Rovers' match was still going!
And the Lee Hughes chants were pathetic. Other than that our support today was immense.

Was very surreal. Little pockets of celebrations going on around the terrace rather than everyone going nuts like before. God I felt deflated when I found out they hadn't equalised.

Quieter than Rovers :P1:

Well we weren't 3 times as quiet as them even though they brought 3x more fans. So clearly we were the better set of supporters right? :D

I'm afraid this cannot be verified! I do hope Barnet get promoted though for entirely selfish reasons. I'd like Bristol Rovers to bring us the bumper attendance next season, plus we are losing Telford, Nuneaton and possibly FGR already. We need to keep someone vaguely local in this division. Grimsby can go up as well. They've served their time now and nearly always beat us.

The players have started showing some passion and fight before the game of the season: The Worcestershire Senior Cup Final with the lodgers this Tuesday. The one we've all been waiting for! :hail:

Fucking hell, what a rollercoaster. I dread to think what the final game has in store. Some observations:

The challenge on Hughes was a stone wall penalty imo. Yiadom(?) took his ankles and none of the ball.

Stack shouldn't have even been booked as the Kiddy player was miles offside.

Our penalty shouts were nothing to shout about.

The cottage pie was incredibly good and I like Kiddy's stadium.

We were far too nervous today. Perhaps the expectation that has been heaped on the squad after Halifax has worked against them. Just need to treat Gateshead like any other home game and not get caught up in the hype.

Unlucky Rovers, looks like it's Barnet's to lose now.

BUT should you end up in the play-offs I honestly think you have a great chance of winning them. I think the problem with Oxford and Luton when they went down and started the season as red-hot promotion favourites, was a certain level of over-expectancy with too many fans underestimating just how tough this league is, and this probably caused the team to play with fear at times, including during the play-offs when they both lost their second legs at home. But with Bristol, not only has your team been in phenomenal form after the first five or so games when you were naturally still acclimatising to life in non-league, but you have a manager that unlike Jim Smith and Richard Money know what it takes to succeed in non-league football and how to fight for results, and you seem to have been quietly getting on with your business trying to overhaul Barnet with no noticeable arrogance from fans, players and club alike. And now not only you can defend, but the goals have really been coming in recent weeks. Not saying it's going to be easy and you're guaranteed to go up, but I can see you definitely being a force to be reckoned with in the play-offs.

Crap and clueless again from us but the chairman says we have the right man in charge especially as he did so well with Lincoln Sunday League side the Ivy Tavern around a decade ago!

Props to Welling if they pull this off - they were dead and buried a month ago.
Beating us turned their season around it would seem.
We need them in the conference as they get as many sent off as us!

We had him on trial in pre-season but couldn't afford the wages and food bill.....

JP has definitely lost weight this season, probably down a couple of stone at least since when he arrived...so maybe we aren't feeding him much at all!

Just our luck kiddiminster save a performance like that when all you had to do was roll over!!!!

I thought kiddy should of had a penalty although we had a good shout.

Think yellow was right for stack he didn't prevent a goal scoring opportunity he was a finger tip out the area.

Excellent numbers from us today cracking atmosphere even when we were losing. Some bell said Dover had scored when they hadn't, so imagine the roar rovers fans when news came through you let one in
We battled today and came through a really tough game.

Not impressed with the Hughes chants all a bit sad.

Record attendance at the Hive, looking at the team spirit and never say die attitude we have I think will rip Gateshead apart within 15 minutes

Hughes chants didn't bother me. I didn't join in or acknowledge them, but he's scum so I certainly don't mind them. Did you see how he was putting himself around, getting in everyone's faces? I was dreading him scoring in the second half infront of the Barnet fans, he loves to rub stuff in. Properly detestable bastard, he is.

Btw, sorry DSL but it looks like I was wrong. Only chance now is if Barnet score something like three times in the opening 15 minutes, and Rovers take their foot off the gas.

Bottom line mate we are just not up to Standard.

We now have officially have the worse defence in the league (for the second succssive season)and you can see why. We should have lost 5-1 yesterday against TEN MEN. Flynn pulled off three superb point blank stops in the final minutes. Pathetic. Terrible defending for the equalizer just before HT and we never recovered. To be to Welling though they deserve to stop up. They never stopped yesterday. Was hard to believe they were the ones a player short.

Gutted. In one way I hope we do go down as we dont deserve to stop up. Home against your releagtion rivals who have 10 men after 15 minutes and you dont win? Not good enough I love Nicky for all he has done for this club and have been of his most ardent fans but even I believe its time for him to move on. The substitutions yesterday were truly baffling. We need fresh impetus and some new ideas at the club.

Still looking forward to my tip to Bristol strangely. Managed to convince myself we are down so just gonna go and enjoy the day. See what happens

Just a point needed for us now against Kiddy.

We just need to equal whatever result Macclesfield achieve, we can both lose and that would be enough, doesn't even matter what you do. It makes a bit of a change from going into the last day of the season worried about the drop, or even worse relying on others to slip up, a fate I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

Roll on Saturday!

Someone just flicked the switch back on with us, two wins on the bounce and a good opportunity against Nuneaton next week to maybe finish in the top half.

Thought yesterday was a poor game overall though, we were better in the first half and Aldershot came in to it in the second half, although didn't really threaten us until the last five minutes. Probably a soft pen, but we'll take it.

Relegation with any luck

Not really, see you next year.

Going to be a tough summer for us. A lot of our players will be offered a lot more money elsewhere. Whether Garry Hill wants to rebuild another side on a limited budget I'm not sure. Hopefully he is. Think he still fancies reaching the play-offs/getting a side into the Football League.

If that side were to be us, I wouldn't be adverse to the idea. I know you may well struggle to keep players, but there could be one or two after Hill as well.

I don't mean to sound patronising, it isn't my style anyway, but I was shocked to hear when we visited your place that your squad is part-time. Is that really the case and, if so, is there any chance that you could go full-time next season. We had about half a season part-time maybe six or seven years ago, when our finances were a bit tight, but it didn't work at all and we reverted to full-time. I know it needs some pretty careful financial management to achieve, but being able to have players who just play football rather than trying to balance it with a career elsewhere can make a massive difference. Considering how close you have come to the play-offs this season it might just edge you a few steps closer to the Football League.

He should manage Grimsby.

It works the other way too, being a part-time side (and the best one in the country at that) can be quite attractive when bringing in players. You don't sound patronising, if anything it's a compliment.

Phew, thanks, that is a relief as I never set out with the intention of causing insult. You are right though, as at the time that I was getting into Rovers we had a mix of players who were full and part-time, also the issue of which one we should be. We lost a couple of players who didn't want to go full time, one left to become a school teacher and the other a Police Officer. We also had Wayne Turk on our books for a while and I'm pretty sure he was part-time, even though the rest of the squad weren't, but was trying to balance non-league football with a better career elsewhere. So, I can see the dilemma, for a player who wants to play at the highest level possible but also stick with their career then you might be the best option.
