If that side were to be us, I wouldn't be adverse to the idea. I know you may well struggle to keep players, but there could be one or two after Hill as well.
Garry Hill has said that he wouldn't manage anywhere else apart from Woking. He lives and works in Essex so managing elsewhere (Grimsby) isn't appealing for him. So effectively his last job in management is with us.
I don't mean to sound patronising, it isn't my style anyway, but I was shocked to hear when we visited your place that your squad is part-time. Is that really the case and, if so, is there any chance that you could go full-time next season. We had about half a season part-time maybe six or seven years ago, when our finances were a bit tight, but it didn't work at all and we reverted to full-time. I know it needs some pretty careful financial management to achieve, but being able to have players who just play football rather than trying to balance it with a career elsewhere can make a massive difference. Considering how close you have come to the play-offs this season it might just edge you a few steps closer to the Football League.
Yes, we are part-time. We train twice a week, albeit in the morning/day instead of the evening when most will have been at work all day - morning training only started happening from this season. No chance that we'd go full-time next season. 1) The club, financially, isn't ready for it and 2) Garry Hill himself wouldn't want to manage full-time because of his other work commitments.
