Can't see anything but a defeat for us here. Standard 2-0 loss.

Biggest test of our 10 game unbeaten league run that’s for sure, should be a good marker for what we want to achieve regardless of result as expect Exeter to be challenging as well this season as they usually do.

A win here would be a huge result.

Why so unconfident? You'll be challenging near the top this season, we'll be around 7-10th. You should be picking up at least a point to us

Because it's what he does all the time.

No huge results at this stage of the season, unless it’s a fierce local rival.

A boost for us ahead of the Vale game...Randell Williams has turned down a move to a L1 club so he will be in the squad for Saturday. However, I suspect he’s going to only be on the bench. Still, it will be a great option to use if we need him.

Cheltenham look like they are suffering from a play off hangover to me. Would be surprised if either of our new recruits start on Saturday, apparently neither are match fit.
Hope Mike Jackson gets his first win as Rovers boss,

Won 2 and lost 2 so far - that's hardly a playoff hangover. More a team settling into the season.

Don't read anything into losing on the opening day, we rarely win on the opening day. Last time we did was 2014.

Yeah it’s definitely too early to be making those sort of claims.

And look how that ended...

Exeter away, could go either way! I don’t want to be overly ambitious from the victory against Crawley as I expect them to be around the bottom ends of the table but happy with our performance! I just hope we don’t sit back and invite too much pressure like we usually do in away matches

'Home' to Mansfield for us - Mansfield fans, any insight on your lot - how are you shaping up for the season following the opening day draw vs Tranmere (not a bad result all things considered)?

I thought we would be very average this season, but we've won our first 3 games (I'd rather be out of the cups to be honest...), and played some really nice stuff against Plymouth on Tuesday. I still can't tell if we're actually quite good for this league (6th), or if we're actually bang average and just happen to be winning a few right now (15th).

Watch out for Danny Johnson tomorrow, our striker we signed from Dundee last season - as far as I can see he has no real attributes as a footballer, he's not particularly quick, strong, tall, or good in the air, yet he's scored 6 in his last 6, often right at the death too, can see him continuing his fine run by resting for 89 minutes and popping up with the late equaliser.

Good litmus test tomorrow. Probably go for a score draw.

You Os!

We have Newport away - a team I've heard nothing about this summer. Hopefully they have a hard time of it tonight in the pointless cup while we have a week off.
We have made a decent start to the season particularly in the EFL Cup. Long way to go obviously. Will be watching us play on tv for the first time this Saturday. Reports so far have suggested that we are playing a bit less hoofball which makes sense as we don't have anyone like Matt to hoof it to. What happens come December when the pitch turns into the Somme will be anyone's guess. September - November is best time to play at Dave as pitch is still ok. Squadwise all of the deadwood has been shipped out and we are running with a fairly tight 22 including a couple of kids and loans who have settled in well so far. Very light in midfield though. Plus Kevin Ellison ffs.

Who or what is Dave??? I presumed you were still playing at that running track with the weird dog mascot (Spitty?) pushing a cart up and down all match...

We're a bit toothless up front at the moment with our top man suspended, but I think we will try and dominate the middle of the park.

Dave is a hilarious reference to Rodney (Only Fools and Horses) hence Dave Parade, not Rodney Parade. We've played at Dave since 2012/13 when you beat us 0-2 in our National League promotion season. You were bottom at the time if I recall. Spytty the Dog still going strong - not sure he'll have his barrow out tomorrow.

Ah, back when we thought Danny Rowe was going to be a good signing and not a massive petulant prick. I think that was about a week or two before Mansfield put eight past us...

Sorry about that, we’ve got a habit of absolutely battering you lot at the Mill. I’m sure it will be a closer contest this season.

We've had a sickness bug going through our squad it seems, players apparently playing through it during both of games this week.

Conor Wilkinson threw up in one of the corners of the pitch at Oldham and Josh Coulson was subbed on Tuesday night after 60mins because he too had it, this will likely affect our selection tomorrow.

Our game Tuesday night has been basically what we've been about the last 12 months, play it about nicely, create chances - occasionally taking them, but we don't keep many clean sheets if any at all. Thankfully the one clean sheet we have this season was when it mattered in the league last week. We are weak defensively in the full back areas, I would expect Mansfield to give us a game especially giving that they haven't scored yet.

Any Mansfield fans know if they're producing a programme this season? My inner nerd has been looking at what clubs are doing this season and I saw last week Mansfield was one of a few clubs not to produce one.

If we don’t win tomorrow we won’t win a league game all season.

Nice to see the Carlisle wrist cutters are already sharpening their knives. I wonder what will happen if they actually lose at home to Sarfend.

Waiting for todays team announcement....Evatt said one or two have knocks
Wonder if its just a way of introducing Crawford and maybe Darcy on to the bench without him admitting he was wrong

2-0 up at half time. Neither side has been good but Southend have just been that bit worse and our forward line that bit more dangerous. Hopefully we don't fuck it up in the second half.
