So, it has finally come to an end.

Not been able to get on here much over the last 3/4 weeks (Hence our Grandstand performance), and only just checked this thread to see the state of play.

A huge congratulations to Stagnificent, they looked absolutely dead and buried, what now seems an age ago. With luck, good tactics and commitment though they made the impossible, possible.

Another 2nd place finish for the consistently good 3DD, so commiserations to a great team and bunch of lads.

With the amount of time this has taken I can't see Oaf ever having the desire to run this again which saddens me (Please say it ain't so), although I also think it should be left alone for a few years like it had been since Wars 1, if it was ever to return.

I'm not at all surprised though that Dave was on the winning team (I'm changing my sig at some point, as I think he's taken my self proclaimed title from me) as he puts everything into these games, and I have to admit I was upset when after initially agreeing to join me and Harvs, he had his head turned by Natch and SUTSS (wankers ) and joined Stagnificent. His performance in tasks in Magic's better version of Grandstand (NOT ALL FUCKING FOOTBALL RELATED STUFF) was testament to how good an addition he would have been.

After being the 'nicest' team in Wars 1, Dave gave them the ruthless streak that I believe won them the game.

It did at times early on seem like they were too concerned with individual teams, with the first being SBF before moving their attention onto us, and I thought this would cost them. As they've said though, it got to a point where they just needed to survive each week, and they turned that around and did so much more.

In short, a well deserved victory.

Thanks again to Oaf and Munks and EVERYONE that has taken part in this. It's been a fucking (3HP please Joker) pleasure.

You still haven't clarified what Zippy's power was Oaf?? What were his stats and price. Gutted he didn't make the main game.

His ability, Nip From The Zip - Single use: In a fight of your choosing, zippy can bite the opponents body part (yup) and what with having no teeth or owt, zips up his mouth leaving his opponent writhing in agony. They lose 1hp, regardless of the outcome.

I believe that I kept the ability name and description word for word as requested. (Hence the use of the word "owt". That's a northern word that doesn't belong anywhere near Plymouth)

Oh yeah, the Ghostbusters stuff:

Peter Venkman - We came, we saw, we kicked its ass! - All “ghostbusters” faction members gain +1hp!

Ray Stantz - Who you gonna call? - Single use: Guarantees you an extra offer of a random “ghostbusters” faction member

Egon Spengler - Ecto 1 - Egon brings the Ecto 1 to the Ghostbusters cause! All “ghostbusters” team members get +3BR!

Winston Zeddemore - Don’t Cross the Streams - This ability must be activated prior to a fight and you must own (or have owned, with them in your graveyard) all 4 of the “ghostbusters” faction members to do so. In a 1 vs 1 fight of your choosing (it does not have to even involve any of your own characters), the Ghostbusters will turn up and cross the streams… killing two of them, but also killing the two characters in the fight outright

So yeah, Don't Cross the Streams was a pretty beastly ability, could have been used to take out two huge characters for two teams. Hard to get though...

Though in saying that, with Stantz ability, you only really needed to properly collect 3 of them (Assuming Stantz is one of the three) to use that.

But yeah, the rest of the GB were just general buffs to each other.

Congratulations and well done Stags. There were some real “chip and a chair” moments for you guys along the way and you did well to hang on in there – worthy winners. 3DD made some great decisions and can consider themselves unlucky to only be runners up. After some earlier back and forths using powers on each other it was nice to do some trades with Team 6 towards the end of the game.

Thanks very much to Oaf and Munkiki. The effort and work that goes into this is massively appreciated. It was brilliant fun again and the tweaks from TFF Wars really worked. I’ve got a few ideas/feedback - This is all just my opinion of course and meant to be feedback rather than criticism!

I think there were too many healing and resurrection items which made fighters losing HP/dying less dramatic and impactful on the game. I think Captain America must have got through about 18HP by the end!

In Wars 3 [if it happens] I would love to see the new way of picking fights that I mentioned (http://onefootballforum.co.uk/index.php?threads/1ff-wars.9653/page-51#post-396652) to be implemented so that it’s not done on first come first served, obviously it’s up to you guys though. It did get annoying waiting around at the deadlines with no heads up or idea if the card was not actually going to be posted (this refers more to when Jinder was in control rather than Munkiki

) and this way would also put an end to that.

To me it felt that it went on for a bit too long. The win criteria of holding all the territories is unrealistic and I think it would make the game more exciting and punchy if there was realistic way to win the game earlier and more suddenly than a sort of a "fade out" win. I followed the game after the SBF were KO’d, and it was still exciting during the “Apocalypse” part as it seemed like the fights were high stakes. After that though it seemed to go round in circles between 3DD and Stag for too long and for me the excitement dropped off. Much longer than 3 months for a forum game is probably pushing it (if for no other reason than to make life easier on the hosts!). Like I say – just my opinion though.

The weight categories were a great idea to make the lesser BR characters have more of a role. Also, I think it was a good idea that BR was basically one huge dice as it meant a few more upsets – in TFF Wars the fights were a bit too predictable and it wasn’t uncommon for fights to be over before a dice was rolled. I think the balance was perfect on this – more chance of upsets but BR stats still playing a significant enough part.
