Owls, Blades and Forest all visited York last season, Wednesday filled the away end. Wouldn't mind any of that lot coming for a repeat visit.

So Wednesday managed to fill at least one away away end.
Didn't quite manage it at NYS though bless em. ;-))

One thing I've never understood is going to Portugal or Spain and training on rock hard pitches when the body is most susceptible to injury.

Didn't we go to Portugal/Spain one year? Think it was under Martin Allen but might have been Paul Ince...which probably explains it.

It was Ince. Surprised you don't remember it. It was the summer we offered three lads their first pro deals (including Liam Kelly) and then Ince was told we couldn't afford a pre season tour to Portugal so he binned those three lads. All for a bit of golf...

Still, we went on to win League 2, so he was probably right.

The Irish tours were great. It's how we found quite a few players. Can't see us achieving much playing in front of some cub scout hut in the 13th arrondissement.
