I'm interested to see who is being shipped out to make room for all these new signings. I have a few in mind...

Curzon 1-0 Telford

Curzon on top in game in blustery wind. Telford far too slow and don't look like scoring.

Plucky Gainsborough holding the mighty Altrincham FC 0-0 at half-time.

You were right all along. We are fucked.

The manager tries to solve every problem with another signing. I'm genuinely pleased we have a patient board who aren't trigger happy, but I'm getting concerned now. If we get to January and it looks like Stockport mk. 2, I hope they have the balls to get rid.

Curzon 1-1 Telford.

Entertaining game, deserved half time lead as dominated first half. Telford should have scored in first minute of second half but didn't and Curzon pressed for second.

Telford equalized with good goal about 55 minutes then dominated for a spell and should have taken lead while Curzon hung on. Last 15 minutes turned back to Curzon and they missed 3 real good opportunities to win it.

Very easy outing against an awful Tamuff side with an even worse defence than Wusster, completely AWOL for 45 minutes today before we dropped down from 1st to 0th gear in the second half. Feel very sorry for people who decide to watch that pile of crap as away fans. Their keeper started coming out in the second half out of frustration, including one moment where he genuinely dribbled it as far as he could to the halfway line without getting rid, with various laikers around him looking a bit puzzled.

A bit of a prolonged rest before we play Flyde and Harrogant next week, and then we'll really get to see what the craic is.

Peniket playing with a smile again, and we went the whole game with two wingers without looking threatened. And our captain came on for the first time this season.

Alfreton 3-5 AFC Flyde

25 goals in our five league games so far! :bl:

We look absolutely electric going forward but cannot defend for shit unfortunately. Flyde are a quality side but we didnt put enough of a fight for some of their goals.

Danny Rowe hit 4 him and James Hardy were a class apart. Fylde look a seriously good side. Expect them to be well up there come the end of the season. We more than matched them first half though. Ryan Wilson was class along with mr Consistent Dan Bradley who scored his 5th of the season. Our defensive fraithities were there for all to see second half though. Dont think its a coincidence that the two games where Wes Harding has not featured we have lost 4-3 and 5-3.

I don't think he'll last until January. We should have known, after he quit football after leaving County.

Jordan Sinnott and Josh O'Keefe both scored today....

Good grief, I see Jordan Sinnott scored again today, as did Josh O'Keefe (!)
Jordan has been a good find by Billy Heath. Only really given his chance due to Liam King being injured but he has made the shirt his own at the moment. Was only a whisker and a good save from getting his name on the scoreboard on Tuesday.

I liked him, he struggled to shake off the inevitable "nepotism" tag here.

He doesn't tackle, but has skills in other departments, and spent the entire season playing wherever he was asked to play. Never complained, or responded to the grief he got. Good luck to the guy, bet he's laughing his balls off with his dad tonight.

Darlow 1883. Get it right.
Is it not AFC Darlington (2012) Ltd??? Or is that me?

Anyways as for us, we were a shower. 1 shot all afternoon, and once Chorley actually took the game to us after the first half hour, they scored with their first ball into our box, scored via penalty from their 2nd and then even though they weren't great, still created enough chances t hammer us but for the bar, Dibble in goal and poor finishing.... The 2nd half being abut as bad a 45 minutes as I've ever seen from 2 sides. Turgid stuff. Decent crowd of 1,009 although it looked about 800 and 60-70 from Boston wishing they'd have spent the afternoon in the pubs.

And as much as we grumble at Dennis Greene in charge when he's breaking bridges with fans every time we lose a match, he had until this season it seems, dne a decent job for us..... still, we could've had Neil Young as our manager!!!

Agree with your assessment, easy win for Chorley, I gather Boston were short of a few players but have to say this is the poorest Boston team since we came into this league. Very pleased with another clean sheet, really ought to have been at least 4 though.

Very strange performance today. Strolled the first half barely got out of second gear as Stalybridge tried to time waste from minute 1. But went in a 2-0 and everything looked great. Then it seemed Stalybridge finally realised they were losing and came out fighting, grabbed an early goal in the second half and then we were backs to the wall. Carter didn't help by apparently headbutting someone (didn't actually see it but seem some Harriers fans saying it was a definite red. But it was good to see us then wake up defensively and hold Stalybridge off. But to be honest Stalybridge never threatened really, all their attacks came from set pieces.

Also another shout out to a crap ref. He may have got the red card right but there was so many fouls on our players that got nothing but identical fouls went to Stalybridge.

I think i realised yesterday how i should not complain if Curzon grab just 4th bottom and survive, just 261 i think was crowd yesterday....part time club....trying to run to budget........it is one tall ask for them to compete. At least the last few games they have been alot more competative and i think we've alot less so far to worry about than some others.

Thinking of going to alty next week, is the ground segregated or unsegregated with the drop??

All games start segregated this season, think it's steward's discretion whether to let fans change ends. Fylde fans were let out at half time on Tuesday night (maybe 30-40 of them)

Did they let Alty fans out at half time..... ouch!
Mind, we haven't played a properly good side yet and still leak 2 a game.

As for the post above re Curzon, it's remarkable how they did since promotion on crowds more suited to 2 leagues below and no obvious backer. I imagine overheads are minimal (what's rent like from that council stadium?) and obviously the Manchester talent pool is a help, especially compared to Lincolnshire. But with so many Manchester clubs around these levels, you wonder where their glass ceiling is

Fair bit of weirdness/trolling on this thread already. Do sense some jealously amongst certain individuals....

Anyway we beat Gloucester 2-1 today with 267 Darlo travelling down to Cheltenham, which is an absolute fantastic effort.

A few fans left at half time on Tuesday, according to our forum.

2 class wins for us, defence has looked strong, especially Matt Challoner and Scott Leather, I think we can take 4 points from 6 in our next 2 games, but I hope for 6! COYM

Not sure about jealousy but there is a bit of the sort of trolling I thought we'd left behind in the northern jumpers for goalposts league.

Even more surprising is that some of the comments are coming from supporters of what I thought were "proper" clubs...rather than from little tinpot clown outfits with a chip on their shoulder.

Odd display from Town against Avenue and kind of sums up the season so far. Bright in part but equally out of sorts in tactics and application.

A 2-0 at half time that should have been 5. Then we managed to be as bad as a woeful first half effort from Avenue, in our second half. I fear for them this season.

As for us we have a great squad and shown glimpses of very crafted play but the tactics at times are questionable in how the team will get used to them. If they do we will be amongst it again but that would also mean repeating a managerial feat our long term 'appointment' has only landed last season, out of a whole heap of mediocre seasons previously.
