Good 2-0 win away at Harrogate. Back on track after Saturday. Looking forward to heading up to Stockport on Saturday.
And boom goes the dynamite. That would appear to be Harrogate's bolt nicely shot, now they can stop pretending they're a football town and get back to serving cream teas. Get that kettle on Betty. :bdick:

Considering we were shit for our first 10 games and are still 3rd, I'd say it's game over for this league now. FC Halifax Town, Conference North Champions 2016/17. There, i've said it.. :bdick:

Feel like on current form we have a great chance to challenge, we're not slowing down anytime soon, the trouble is neither are Fylde and Danny Rowe

The only thing I'm grateful to Neil Young for is not f**king us over quite as badly as he did Alty.

Went to the Shay last night....changed a bit since the last time I saw Halifax play there. Where are the grass banks??
Seriously, easy win for the home team. On top all first half. Slowed up second half mainly due to the tactics of United Manchester which appear to be 'thou shall not pass whatever' amazed no one in red saw red.
On this performance way too good for this league.

Well I must admit I have the last few weeks wrote off BPA and Stalybridge, but kept a worrying eye over shoulder 100% expecting Alty to turn it around with a new manager... ......surely they are too big to drop, surely budget too big to struggle.

I sort've forget teams like Stockport, Norwich, leicester, Bristol rovers etc who in past should never have dropped down so far, but they all did.

Alty remind me of Carlisle in 2004, a year in with Roddy Collins who brought in 2-3 players a week without bothering to properly manage any, but we began with hope being told he got a full pre-season to work on them. He soon left after an awful start and we hoped for a turn in fortune with a new man (and did get it) but it took a year to sort out and all but 2 players of the entire sqaud had to go as all were unfit or p*ss poor........down we went, looking like same for Alty.........amazing how bad the damage can be from a shocking managerial appointment

Salford have signed Jack Deaman from us. Gotta admit I'm pretty shocked by that one! He started off pretty well but then became a bit of a liability, lots of mistakes creeping in and he'd been relegated to the bench for the last few matches.

Alty fans were laughing when we signed David Lynch after they decided he wasn't ready for Conference North earlier this season. We've won every game and he's been one of the men of the match every time, since he made his debut. Thanks Jimbo. Still a Shayman at heart.:bdick:

Highlights of the Harrogate game. Including a goal from just past the half way line after their keeper came up for a last minute corner

Haha as if they let that happen to them twice in consecutive home games!

We have Gainsborough at home on sat, a massive game for Curzon.

I know all sides play everyone, but fixtures were not kind to Curzon this season. This is only the second home game vs a bottom half side and with Worcester now posponed, 3 of our next 4 home games are Halifax, Harrogate and flyde. It means by early Jan we have played the whole top half of table at home.

And in a season when there is a big gulf between top and bottom sides it means little pickings so far at home.

It makes Saturday, and new year vs Stalybridge as big games to grab vital points

Why do people keep calling them Flyde? Is it just that people can't spell or is there some sort of in-joke I'm missing?

Because when your typing it in a hurry on the sly at work on a mobile it comes out that way.

One of them places that you just spell wrong when quickly trying to type it out

We are similar position to you in terms of home fixtures!

We have only played Curzon and Gainsborough at home from the bottom half! By the second week in January we would have played Flyde,Harrogate and Salford twice and everyone in the top half at home except Darlo (who we beat away)

Very weird.

Chorley at home for us tomorrow which means best defence v worst defence...
Tough one to call this. the the players have had a well earned weeks rest but I wouldnt be surprised if they had 1 eye on next weeks Cup game v Newport. A similar game to last seasons uneventful 1-0 win will do very nicely. Doubt it though.

Brackley at home tomorrow for us. Will be a tough test against a Brackley side unbeaten in their last 6 away games. Sadly can't make it as I have a table tennis tournament but will be cheering on the shaymen from Middlesbrough! Thankfully this is one of the only home games I'll miss this season and it's not exactly a, let's say 'mouthwatering' fixture

Odd decision from us. We now have no real cb cover. But all our loans out this year have a recall clause so it's probably better he gets game time.

Not sure when they went out, but you're not allowed to recall within 30 days of them going out.

Gamble.

Did you manage it as well then? That keeper needs to be told to stay back then :lol:

Yes! Last minute added as well, just inside our own half! I've always wished we'd take advantage of a keeper coming out at some point and score, but the context in which it came really made it one to remember. Great moment, you can see our following bounce up and down after it went in.

I imagine he'll get as much game time as he wants / can handle, such is the lack of credible competition here
