Great win at Harrogate. Gillies was outstanding up until injury forced him off. We look so much more effective going forward now we have gone less direct. We still hit Beck, but mix it up a lot more. Yesrerday showed we are more than decent when we get it down and play. we also look more solid with Burgess back at centre half, although we still can't keep a clean sheet. Great night in The Blues Bar later, with Emmerdales Marlon. And we definately had more than 1140 there (thats the match not The Blues Bar)

I don't blame them at present.

Similar to fc Halifax 2008's non reappearing Wembley day trippers.
Just glad we were able to give you taste of what it's like to support a real team for a day. That's what it's like for us all the time. :bdick:

Highlights of the Harrogate game. Including a goal from just past the half way line after their keeper came up for a last minute corner

He seems to do that quite a bit.

Alfreton 2-2 Chorley (Edmundson 87,90) (Walker pen 32, O'Keefe 41)

Well it was certainly an unlikely hero but my god am I delighted with that! Chorley`s 11 men plus the ref and two linesman (Expected them all to come out with a Chorley shirt on second half!) anti football tactics got exactly what they deserved!

The ref was an absolute disgrace to his profession. The bloke from the PA sat next to me as a neutral said he was abysmal. He gave us fuck all and allowed Chorley play acting, time wasting and general complaining at ever single decision go unpunished. Much like Gateshead, Chorley`s tactics where to kick 2 chunks out of Paul Clayton and I must say I reallly feel for him tonight. It was never a straight red. Yes he lent with his arms but there was no malice whatsoever. Yellow at worst and get on with the game but no Mr Hull listened to the desperate protests from the chorley management and proceeded to send him off! No he is going to miss out on the FA Cup game. Yet Chorley lent with their arm which went unpunished time and time again.

The penalty decision while it was tough on Kennedy I can see while it was given. Kennedy is pretty awful and clumsy and to give the ref a little bit of credit he didnt rush and gave himself time to think about it. He took so long to restart the game too after the sending off I thought we would never get back under away. The whole incident took 6 minutes!

Cannot heap enough praise on the players for the second half performance. Nobody would have judged if at 2-0 down and a man down with a massive FA Cup coming up they would have taken their foot off the gas but no they never stopped and Chorley barely threatened second half. Sub Azam was played in by Walker before doing the hardwork by runding Spiess before firing over with the goal gaping.

And boy did Chorley pay as first Edmundson bundled in after a goalmouth scramble before 2 minutes in to added time a fantastic cross from Westcarr was powered in By Edmundson with a bullet header!

Sorry after waffling a bit there. Like Chorley as a club but they let themselves down today was very dissapointed with them. Good support from the travelling fans though I doubt they had a pleasant journey home.
It seems like we're going to playing like lat season! Cocking up a lead with 5 mins left. To be fair, Charnock did break his cheekbone in the incident and is out for 6-8 weeks, walker also scored the second. As if o'dear would have fucking scored. I have to admit the referee was poor, but we didn't really play too dirty, but your obviously going to get a different view from a Chorley fan!

Fair post mate. Thanks for clearing up the scorer of your second. They was real confusion as your twitter said Walker but Magpies Live said O Keefe!? Look forward to the return game at Victory Park, with a different ref!

Right back or centre half and a good young prospect. Normally able to tackle well but less assured going forward and a little prone to losing concentration at times. Askey has kind of gone off him this season, hence why he keeps getting sent out on loan.

Thanks for that, we are really badly hit by injuries so hopefully he will do well for us, am sure he will start at CB. May do him good to play at our level for a bit.

Today's results:

Chorley 1-0 Nuneaton
Fylde 5-0 Stalybridge
Salford 0-0 Harrogate
Tamworth 2-1 Darlington
Telford 1-2 Boston
FCUM 1-3 BPA

Me thinks today may have sealed title for Fylde even this early, they just do not seem to be letting up at all this season and no one can keep pace, big day for them with the others up there all flogging points.

Massive win for BPA, that Stalybridge loss last week did alot of damage, but that was a shock win for them, Boston win to ease pressure on their manager.

BPA won 3-2.

Provided we get nothing against Gloucester on tuesday which is highly likely given its just 48hrs after Newport, Saturdays game at Bradford PA has become important.

I see we hit the bottom this afternoon, urgh. 7 points off safety, probably 38 more points needed from 26 games to survive, which is a sobering thought. Awful run of games coming up - Salford, Alfreton (will concede but score too many for us), Tamworth, Brackley and Stockport. We could very well still have 7 points by Christmas Day

Tom Hannigan off injured again today. In five appearances, he's given away a pen, got sent off once and come off injured three times.

Good 3 points today in view of our injury situation, very well taken goal by Carver just on half time. Defence stood firm again and another clean sheet. Cowan made his debut as right sided CB and did OK, bit shaky in first half but settled well after the break. We maintain the challenge, Gainsboro away next week.

Good win today, Cowan looked solid and great take by Carver for the goal. Cottrell was class today and we looked stronger with Stephen Jordan back.

Salford 0 - Harrogate Town 0

Two teams in poor form clinging to the comfort of a point.

Great chips but everything else about the ground was pretty shite.

Surprised with all of the money and celeb spotting going they couldn’t have at least sorted the bogs out in the 3 years they have had there. Maybe it’s some perverse counter Old Trafford thing in the 92 boys brains but pretty shoddy ground. Neville was in his usual spot and took some good stick from us lot.

Big number of Man Usa hat wearing day trippers, which despite the decent turn out by them Salford were very quiet.

Just for my FC Halifax 2008 chum – Apparently Giggs was giving our away turnout and vocals a big thumbs up.

If I were a Man U supporting Manc (thank feck I am not) it would be FCUM every day of the week. Salford really do come across as a toy. Then again perhaps a position better than Town’s, being merely a vehicle for a rich bloke’s kids career.

Kallam Mantack has extended his loan from Oldham until Januray 15th.

Meanwhile Evan Garnett has been released and has rejoined Belper Town.

You certainly dodged a bullet. Although their is no way he would have got in your team.
My concern if he had stayed is that he probably would have been retained at the expense of Andre Brown who's looked useful as our second choice striker so far.

Home to Gloucester tonight. Really tough ask so soon after Newport. 3 points would be fantastic though and would take us to 12th and in a safe position.

Gloucester won didn't they? Were 2 up.

We got a bit of a smash and grab at Telford on Saturday but they all count. Makes up for conceding a late equaliser at Nuneaton somewhat. Next up, unbeaten away Brackley then a nice easy one at Fylde.

Yep. Alfreton 0-2 Gloucester.

We were awful. Predictable though really and half expected. Only the Second time we have failed to score this season. Gloucester look a solid outfit and game with a cameplan and executed it to perfection and we couldn't find an answer. No creative spark at all.

Great finish from Parker for their second too!

Onto a must win game away at Bradford PA on Saturday.

Superb performance and the 2nd goal was a delight to watch. We are really growing as a side now and with Hopper back who knows what we could manage....
