So tonight its our third attempt at getting our home game with FC Halifax played. It rained all day Sunday but since then its been dry. It should be on I think. Perhaps there may be a precautionary pitch inspection.

Saturdays postponement is a blow as its left tethering just above the relegation zone with perhaps our two most difficult games left coming up. Really we need to be picking something up tonight as I dont see us picking anything up at Kidderminster on Saturday. . Preferably 3 points of course but I would more than settle for a share of the spoils. Its going to be far from easy but hopefully we are refreshed and ready to go.

In recent home games we have struggled to adapt to the pitch just as much as the visitors. Be interesting just how bad it has now become.

Another Stalybridge game another pitch inspection.

Anybody up that area know what the weather is like and how it's been the past few days?

Live 5 mins walk off......think it has a chance. Didn't rain much on Monday, dry most of day today.

Took a battering Sunday though and it will depend how long that takes to recover

According to their general manager it's touch and go. If it's off something has to done surely. Steve Burr is yet to manage his side at home and it still doesn't look like he will.

If they do not get it on today they have big problems really. Sunday saw horrendous rain. But has had two dry, nice days following

Surely The National League have to step in now. They can't just keep calling games off cos their fixture list is going to be packed in April at this rate.

FT Alfreton 1 -0 FC Halifax (Westcarr 61)

Boy that was a much needed win and deserved in the end. It was far from pretty once again and we were lucky to be level at Half Time. However second half Halifax were poor and we grew in confidence and could have won by a wider margin in the end. 5 points clear of the drop. Fantastic performance and Some much needed breathing space ahead of a very tough trip to Kidderminster on Saturday.

Some very disgruntled Halifax fans at the final whistle and on that second half performance I can see why.

Oh dear! Fist time ever, a team has more goals than fans! Each goal met with absolute silence.
What's the point. Football without fans is nothing.
Telford trudge off at the final whistle to stunned silence, from what is left of the crowd. Most left at 4-0 in the 50th minute.
Oh well, tomorrow's another day, off to Chorley Saturday.

More than half of our performances this season have been like that, so can you shed any light on how we are in a play-off spot, coz I can't. :dk:

Hurrah, someone else gets it. The answer of course is that there is NO fucking point. Absolutely none whatsoever. The nonsense of these pointless clubs has to end!

I think I finally have an answer to my own question i.e. "how the fucking hell have we come to this?", having just read our club scout in the local paper: he's a lorry driver 3 days a week, a scout 2 days by the way. Said at Halifax they can shop at the "top table" but at Ferriby they usually ended up signing their 3rd or 4th choice because nobody wanted to go there- then thinks we'll be chuffed to hear him admit he helped sign half of Ferriby's squad for us. Jesus fucking wept. :ffs:

Daniel Nti has joined us from York.

On top of that John Eustace, Matt Gardiner and Kevin Phillips agree deals until next season, so no matter what happens whether we go up or stay here we'll be able to keep those 3. Good news day for us.

Apart from when they beat a league one club in the cup and provide great youth football support to a small town of 12,000 in a rural area.
Don't be getting all binpot. You funny Big Time council tax payers subsidised Charlie.

Shock horror, semi pro club in the 6th tier of English football has scout who also has to do other work away from his paid scouting gig. Get over ya sen.

Tho the Ferriby thing is quite amusing. That said do you not think they have done better than expected in the national? I was expecting, an at best, 20 points total.

Love to hear the thoughts of any Boston fan who was at the game yesterday (were there any Boston fans at the game) on how they think a team as shite as ours has got itself into a play off spot. I know people don't like it when I say this, but it can only be because everybody else is even more shite. This is the worst Conference North division in living memory. I'll laugh my socks off if we get out of it with this team. :fl::fl::fl:

Must say having just seen this post how underwhelmed I was. I'd backed us to get a hiding and judging by the fact only 84 of us went, most others agreed. Turned out to be about as comfortable as we've looked all season, BPA being the other. Not scoring past us and Alfreton in two games should get alarm bells going. Struggled to put alty away too and a few blanks recently didn't you?

It's weird, for the last four or five years I've been expecting a really competitive league yet it's underwhelming at best. We're just hopeless this season on the back of a few signings. Genuinely felt last time it was a decent league was about 2013 or 2014

See my comment on another thread about that- I have no hesitation at all in saying that Brackley are by far the best C/N side I've seen this season, and that they absolutely destroyed Gillingham in the FA Cup and played some superb football in the process. If all of this had been achieved on home gates of 200, by good player development, good coaching and good tactics, that would be quite something. But we both know none of that is remotely achievable on home gates of 200. Rather than reflecting credit on the club, their success only reflects the ridiculous of amount of money being poured into the club by the owner. Sorry that it obviously offends you, because you have a dog in this fight, but i'll never regard clubs like this as anything but the frauds that they are, They are absolutely killing the non league game. :£:£:£

Other than the shite they have generously supplied us with this season, I have no interest in North Ferriby's past, present or future and therefore unable to assist you in this matter. :bdick:

Stockport away for Curzon on sat, gonna be a last min decision on whether I can go.

Wont be many away fans for this one, afew of the regular away fans going due to steward treatment last season.....expect just a handful.

The Alfreton win over Halifax must make game more interesting for Stockport...what seemed like a tall order on Sunday, now seems a wee bit more a chance.....shows more twists to come.

Curzon played couple of breakthrough youth players last week, so think our season job is done and manager using games to prepare new players for next year........but....this will be a big game for our team.

Good indicator for Stockport this, playing a side that will surely raise its game for, if they finally want out this league they also need to battle and scrap to a win

Who is the main backer of Brackley?

Brad Gasgoine has left us and signed for Nuneaton. Pointless signing in the first place and he is shit.

Kidderminster away for us tomorrow. By far the toughest game we have got left. The form book screams a home win. Kiddy have won the last 12 home games on the bounce and we have concede 48 goals in 16 away games. Ouch. Fortunately Tuesday Night`s win has turned this game in to something of a free hit before we enter the final 10 games and the start of our favourable run in.
Unfortunately I wont be going. Will be listening in on the Radio though.

Cecil Nyoni has also been released and has signed for Gainsborough. Wont miss him. too much baggage and is unreliable. Not happy he has signed for Gainsborough though.

I'd be disappointed if we didn't score a few goals here. Your defence is very leaky it seems and our home form speaks for itself.

I can understand that. Curzon aside though we have really tightened up recently. I think if you score early on though you could over run us easilly.
