Yes, the FA cup gets priority over our games, however league games don't as we play in a higher league than Bishop Auckland.

Hopefully not too many of your fans will be out of pocket. 75 Kidderminster fans travelled up to Darlington the last time we played in 2011 (and that was with a link to Darlington station). So working on the assumption that a similar amount were planning on travelling this time around then I hope a fair chunk of that 75 were planning on driving or taking a Supporters Coach.

Seen a couple of fans complaining about train tickets and being out of pocket there so hopefully they can get a refund but I would imagine numbers would now drop because of work etc.

Currently 2-0 Darlington at home to Chorley. 1500+ there too.

Ground out a 2-0 win, Galbraith with both. Chorley were the better side, i don't think we had a shot in open play, but we are horrible to play against. Solid defensively, and very good at set pieces. Drilled, disciplined, dour probably sums us up.

Darlo doing excellent so far. I am not sure if in longer term of season you can keep up with Flyde and Halifax who I am already thinking may storm off to a title battle, but certainly its been a strong start.

The Carlisle fan in me hopes you can do it because your collapse lost us 2 good games, plus a good away day.

To be totally honest I cannot see past either Flyde or Halifax for the league.

Chorley were the best side we have faced so far. They had plenty of possession but just failed to make it count. Second half they committed bodies forward but each time we repelled their attack.

Excellent attendance of 1,543 also.

Agree we were the better side but failed to take our chances, Darlo will do well, they defended well tonight. Disappointed to get nothing from a game we should at least have drawn. One comment, the floodlights at Heritage Park are terrible! Sainsbury's illuminated sign helped a little when that came on.

we were the better team last night, hit the bar in the first 10 that could have changed the whole complex of the game, but that's football, all they did was punt it to denton number 2 and hope for the best, crap marking for the 2nd goal, free header back post....

I wonder what Halifax fans think of this?:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ass-92-target-Conference-North-promotion.html

"Morley is again on hand to ram the message home. 'We're looking for value,' he says. 'Halifax and Fylde are paying £1,000 a week to certain players. I can assure you we're not paying anywhere near that."

Halifax are part-time aren't they? I find it hard to believe that a part-time, fan-owned club could afford these type of wages? I don't really believe it for a second.

Ironically, the joint-managers over there (Johnson & Morley) have just done a full-page interview in the Non-League Paper where they categorically denied any of Salford's players being on £1,000 per week. But they seem more than happy to band this around on other clubs.

The documentary on them tonight should be interesting. You've just go to take half of it with a pinch of salt.

Everyone knows Salford are paying some of their players loads. Fylde probably are as well but this is just a tactic to divert attention of wages from themselves.

We have to remember to enjoy the fairytale that is Salford and not mock it. I cannot wait for their pre-planned and directed 'real life drama' and enjoy how that fake 'real fans in game reaction' will look on tv

Cannot wait for my trip to play Darlo as I missed the trip in the 2011/12 season. Shame its in Bishop Auckland. Gonna be absolutely shattered as I come back from my Holiday at 1am Saturday morning. Unfortunately I fear Darlo will have a field day against our leaky defence. We could do with a strong defensive performance to boost morale.

First of all, we're NOT fan owned. I can confirm at least one of our summer signings (one of the better ones) is on £700 per week. However this is money the club has earned off its own bat, not money being shovelled in by a benefactor. You may not think this distinction matters, if you don't ,shame on you. Aslo, having checked out Salford on the latest highlights, they don't look as though they've had megabucks spent on them, they just look a decent conference north side. Fylde looked a very different proposition.

First time we played Salford we were 5-0 up after 20 minutes. Their half dozen fans left at half time. Our record against them is played 4, won 4, goals scored 17, conceded 2. That was all before the money came and that is all Salford will ever be in my eyes. :£:£:£:£

We're not free-flowing by any stretch, and Gray will be cautious of your fairly free scoring attack, so i can see us setting up as we did against chorley and going for a 2 nil. Our main threat is corners. Galbraith and Gillies are as good as you can get at delivering them.

I think that you've mis-interpreted my post. I was actually sticking up for Halifax by saying that I couldn't believe what Morley was saying.

Very surprised to hear that Halifax are paying wages of up to that much for part-time lads.

No, I got that much. We are a very rich club in these circles, thanks to Neil Aspin's talent spotting- £500k for Vardy, £250k for Lee Gregory, £70k for Shaun Tuton, £45k for Dan Gardner. It all helps.

We are weak on set pieces. A result would be a bonus tomorrow. Its all about the performance. Its not even the end of August and we have already scored 3 in two seperate matches and come away empty handed on both occassions which is a concern

To be fair, Salford have cherry-picked some of the best players at National League North level. They have signed Michael Nottingham, who won the league with Solihull, Bradley Barnes from Flyde, Craig King from BPA and then signed Matthew Warburton from Curzon Ashton. Also signed Phenix from Southport, Harry Worley on a free and paid a fee for Sam Walker from Halifax.

To contrast that to us we have signed 4 players from leagues below; Mark Bell (Spennymoor Town), Jordan Watson (Blyth Spartans), Lewis Nightingale (Farsley Celtic) & Arran Wearmouth (Blyth Spartans), these have all been free transfers. Liam Marrs has arrived on a free from Boston United after he rang Gray to sign and then we've signed 2 players that we free agents having being released from their clubs in Josh Gillies and Mark Beck.

We missed out on a number of players that decided to sign for Spennymoor for more money such as Jamie Chandler and Tom Craddock. I'm sure that we were also in for Brodie & Fenwick that ended up at York. We also tried to sign Chib Chilaka from BPA but he chose to sign for Harrogate.

Not here to argue whether you can afford £700 a week for a part time player or not, but what is going to happen when you go up and/or go full time?

Your players on those sorts of amounts are surely going to want a lot more for full time!

I know we missed out one one or two players in the summer who went to the bankrolled Spennymoor Town, and at the time our manager made a comment about certain players we were after were wanting around £500 a week and there was no way we were going to pay that.

Hoping so. Its a new ground for me which is at least a bonus if we lose.

Am hoping we can stop you grabbing an early goal and then we can let your fans out abit of pressure on team and capitalise.

Curzons best defender (from what I have seen) may be back into contension having been injured so far this season, but I think he may be saved for Monday.

Should be goals me thinks

According to their forum there's issues with the board. Fans are protesting by boycotting matches. Along with us they're full time and I don't think they've recruited well but they've also not had the easiest start.

Halifax (H) 3-2 loss
BPA (A) 1-1 Draw
Kiddy (H) 2-0 Loss
Salford (H) 1-0 loss

When we played them they were very poor and only had 1 real chance which was easily saved.

I'd imagine they are pretty much full time already, just the higher earners don't have to work as well!

We have signed another 3 (!) players - Emile Sinclair, Fabio Bassangue (?) and some teenage centre back from Forest Green Rovers, of all places.

Jamie Menagh, a player NY had signed 3 times for 3 different clubs, has been released after playing 28 minutes all season.

Hi all, new poster here. I'm a Blackpool fan boycotting (along with many others) because of Oyston. Planning on watching a few Fylde games this season as they are only 10 mins from me. I know they're not very popular on here :bg:, and completely understand why, but it's a chance for me to take my son to a few games. Also planning on going to watch Squires Gate & AFC Blackpool too.

I've been reading through this thread with interest. Which teams are full time in this league?

I'm looking forward to watching Fylde v Halifax later on today. Fond memories of visiting The Shay as a Pool fan, and of course we share the connection of the late, great Billy Ayre.

I will check back later to discuss the game and read the abuse directed at me :bg:

Enjoy this afternoon if you're going to a game.

That would be Joe Moran, who came through the academy at Crewe Alexandra, and has been signed as a member of our development squad. He is highly rated and considered a prospect for the future, but not quite ready to compete with our current first team squad, though he might be competing for a place if injuries or suspensions take their toll. I hope he does well for you, we will be keeping an eye out for results and match reports, please look after him!

Enjoy non-league football, you might find that it gets under your skin and you never want to go back, there are plenty of us who did just that.

Don't worry about the abuse, most of it comes from those who can't think of anything more intelligent or constructive to say...though to be fair, some of the light-hearted stuff is actually very funny at times and generally the level of discussion is OK.
